Fair or unfair, people judge you by the way you write. If you plan to work a blue collar job then your English skills aren't that important. But if you plan to be a professional, and I assume most of you do, then you need to learn how to communicate correctly. I would make doctors teh exception to ths rule. Anyone who has ever tried to determine

I'm looking for a good freeware program to record what is happening on-screen. I just got HyperCam 2.10.02 from download.com, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a better one? Any help would be muxch appreciated!

Sifting through the complaints of people who have no idea what a beta is to try and find ACTUAL bugs is annoying and difficult enough already. Release an expansion pack early would make this worse, whether you said it was the full version or not. In addition, the release version of a game/expansion is the one that gets the review. Very few g

Hey, back off Cikomyr. The OP isn't saying they are better then any other group, he's just marveling at thier kindness and chairity in the matter. Most people wouldn't blame the guy's family, but very few would likely go to such great efforts, inspite of thier own loss, to reach out with such kindness. He's being kind and reflective, and there is no need for you to get in a huff about it. ::edit:: Your edit went up before my post, so here is a small addi

There is an open seat for teh U.N. security council that is earmarked to represent Latin/South America. The two contenders are Guatamala and Venezuela. For obvious reasons, the U.S. and Europe are not backing Venezuela. The Economist just did a big article about it, and they point out that Chavez may be trying to feed off of anti-american sentiment in order to gain votes for the seat (they site also his massive gifts to other countries in the region, including an offer for a $300 million roadw

hmmmm... I'll have to look for that next time I play a comp. Th eonly gripe I have is that it bugs the heck out of me when the server host starts to lose, so they get mad and disconnect, ruining the match for the others involved (this isn't specific to this game, but it still bugs me). It's the electronic version of kicking over the board game in a hissy fit.

Hey, if anyone is loking for an awesome game, they should check out DEFCON. It's put out by Introversion Software (based out of England). I've been playing it for a few days now and I'm hooked. Basically, you get to play a game of global thermonuclear war (ala Wargames). The demo is basically the full game, just minus a some bells and wistles.

The polls are somewhat misleading, as tehy don't take into account those that would have bought the game and been active forum members had they included MP, nor does it show how many would use MP but don't come here. Unfortunitly, since they cannot measure thsoe people, they have to go with what they can measure. There are alternatives to a real time, 7+ hour gamefest. Hopefully a future expansion or GC3 will have it, and if so I would buy it in a heartbeat. But until that time, they

1: Check the amont of hit points, they might just be beating you down. Also, check to see if they have any military starbases around. 2: You can get a Hall of Empathy, that might help. The AI surrenders to who it does, sometimes you win, often you don't, that's just how it goes.

Not yet. Int hup coming expansion Dark Avater there will be differant planet types, not all of which can be used initially. I don't know if certain races can use certain types earlier, so you will have to either look around, or wait for someone with more info to answer.

It would be neat, unfortunitly the galaxy seems to establish an equalibrium for me in my games. Usually the evil races get nailed early, and a dominate alliance sets things up to where there isn't a whole lot of conquering unless an event happens that breaks it up (ir unless I get bored).

Would it be possible for DA or perhaps #3 (in a few years) to implement morale that is influenced more on what is going on? For example, if there is a war going on, and you are doing well (conquering planets, destroying more then ypou are losing) you could get morale bonuses. However, if there is a war and you are losing planets, you get morale penalties. So, if you take a class 15 world you could get a (just to toss out a number) 10% morale bonus for a month or two. For a class 5 pl

You have the great Alterans, founders of Atlantis, builders of roads from Roman legend, first race to ascend to a higher plane of existence, and creators of an exceptional network of Astria Porta that allow instantaneous travel between planets throughout the Milky Way Galaxy (Orbis Lacteus)? Oh, you mean Altarians... right... Maybe by

So wait... should I buy Wizbang 1 or wait for Wizbang Gold? It sounds like a solid game if they are considering a Game of teh Year edition, and with it's expansion coming out soon it should make a deceant bundle buy. Is it going to be on totalgaming.net or do I need to look on amazon?

Another big thing to remeber is that in the early game NEVER BUY ON CREDIT! That is the quickest and simplest way to completly tank your early economy. The only things that I would say would be worth buying on credit are wonders (if you think that someone else might finish it first).

Do you have a URL to that one? That sounds like an..interesting review. I just checked back on Gamespot, it seems either the Author or the site have since removed the review, it now lists the most receant as being posted on the 20th of September. The quotation I included in the OP was the entire review.
