If you raise taxes to a 100% you will, indirectly, kill everyone on your planet as they won't have any money for food. 100% taxes = 100% of all income. But if you have high enough approval, those people don't "die." The

While months would make more sense for population growth and technological advancement, is it really necessary? Do your eyes burn if you see tiny little word that says week instead of month? Sure, the Devs might be able to fix it in a minute. I'll assure you that SOMEONE will come out and complain about how unrealistic it is to have the turns in month. "What do you mean I can build a battle cruiser in one month but I can't chunk out 5 scouts?" You nee

I think the argument is that: the player might accidentally make some bad strategy decision that only getting himself in debt will solve. They don't want the newcomers to feel frustrated at how hard the game is. With that said, besides making it only available on the easier level, a pop up explaining that this is a newbie feature might help too.

A turn...is a Turn...is a TURN. What he said. A turn is anywhere from a hundred years to 1 year. And does it make ANY sense that a warrior can move like 1 "square" (however far that is, but we can assume it's less t

as mentioned, resource control is more important than planet control - which seems a tad unlikely and shifts the game to control of starbases rather than planets. This allows the game to be something beyond just rushing colony ships and grab the best planet. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote

It would be nice if one would still have moral decisions after picking the alignment. I do NOT mean that you can switch to another alignment for its bonus. Rather, if you choose to be good through xeno ethics and you deviate from good by selecting choices that are evil, you would temporarily lose the bonus you have acquired through your alignment. You will regain the bonus once you have accomplished enough to get you back to the range of 'good.' It would be rather easy to shift alignm

Imperial government to a republic government and the mass votes for another party. I don't know about you, but I don't think the mass will want the same emperor ruling after they finally changed to republic. Even if the people won't kick you off.. I would think you get voted off the executive position when it's time to vote for executive officers. Perhaps the game should have a voting for the executive officer. When you lose that election, it's automatically game over <im

I can't believe we haven't gotten this far and no one has mentioned that space isn't two-dimensional (well, to be more exact, 3 dimensional objects on a 2-dimensional plane! I would think everyone here is aware of the fact that space is 3 dimensional. It was just not mentioned because it wasn't necessary. If you understand how the hy

It seems that you can already play the game hotseat by using a cheat code. What was the point of this – why did they not just enable regular hotseat play? The only way I could understand this is if they wanted to get the game released quickly and plan on fully supporting hotseat play in a patch. the function is probably available because there is no

Did the game become harder after the newest patch or what? Having played and done quite well against 7 Gifted opponents, I now constantly struggle... On research and economic ends mostly. This is a good thing, definetly, but far as I saw it didn't say in the changes "made AI alot better The patch update said that the AI now focus more on

for $40 and to not even be able to play it? i'm gonna be criticizing, cuz i paid my money and i can't even use the product, and if the store doesnt take it back cuz the box is opened, i just threw out $40 or at least they better come up w/ a patch within 2 weeks or so like civ4 which itself as well was riddled with problems upon initial release <

While flavor is important, keeping the damn planet name and the function straight is more important to me. PLANETS Research I - planets that are small that I intent on specializing with research labs. Econ I - good quality planets that I will build entertainment network, farm, and market Tech Capital - a planet with good PQ (so the technological capital will be put to a good use) War - planets close to enemy border.. lots of manufacture center for crank

What I find amusing is when a ship will actually divert its course to fly around a planet, as if the planet actually takes up the entire grid it's on. LoL The Link above was amusing but it comes across as more of an excuse tha

What I have more complain about is the government (imperial, repubilc, democracy, and federation). By no means would one provide more bonus to the other one. They should provide different types of bonus like the party, at least in certain cases. This sounds like I want to have civ government (differnet bonus and penalty ) or MoO2 government (different type, upgradeable) in the game instead. It might be something worth considering for the devs though. Communism might just wo

Supposingly.. the population is the taxed population. There might already be 20 billion people on the planet but only 5 billion are taxed. Then again, the whole farm thing wouldn't make sense. And frankly, months, weeks, it doesn't matter much. Time doesn't work too well in civilization games. Take a look at civ1~civ4. It takes a warrior 10 years to move one squares, very mind-boggling. Now when the population bonus is implemented.. perhaps it will be more realistic.

you use hyperdrive technology to bend space and allow you to get from point A to point B with slow than light speed. in other words A - - - - - - - - - - B you might only be able to travel one dash per week. hyper drive bend the space so that it looks like A +-+ B ***| | ***| | **+-+ Thus, you would only have to travel one dash instead of 10. In this sense, it doesn't matter if the planet is on a 3d scale in reality.
