OK just did a quick test of the newlt released beta. Sound issue appears to have been sorted. I bow down to GPG and Stardock - well done guys, totally unexpected.

If the new beta build gets up today, we'll let you know how it turns out. Hurray for a company that actually listens to ppl that have problems, investigates, and fixes those problems! Dahkar I doubt this patch today solves any sound issues. As far as I understand, it only fixes (part of) the connectiv
Sounds good - can I suggest you forget the beta cycle, its not making it clear whether their is a resolution or not. I'm in Monday's beta - it looks goo dbut I suspect its working because no one else is playing it :) BTW if you want to see how MP can be done from a friends/clans/stats and joining angle get a copy of WIC - it is easily the best setup - including its ability to set aside a server for clan matches. I don't really want to put the family network open to the elements and I certainly don't want my PC on the DMz. I'll cross fingers you're just been overly cautious regarding the firewall aspect - shouldn't be any reason why a open port would be blocked by the firewall - that is the point of the port forward Here's the issue. Out of interest that sim speed bug was in Friday's beta build.
Quoting Sheezwack, reply 11 Quoting Frogboy, reply 10 EVERY RTS out there (and I mean literally EVERY ONE) requires open ports. If by "games on Steam" you mean like Team Fortress or Left 4 Dead that's because you're connecting to a dedicated server or a dedicated host, a totally different thing. Thats fine I have no problem with port forwarding - but I am pretty sure

Quick comment re demo - you absolutely must still have an SP option as well as MP. From my own experience when I play I first want to try it on SP and once I am happy with my play I then move to MP. If I don't have that SP option I seldom want to risk walking with the unwashed masses :) Note most people who wanted Demi God have the game you're now trying to appeal to those who hadn't even considered it!
Thanks Toraque - it's nice to see such a prompt reply that directly explains the problem and what is being done to address it. +1
Absolutely - great response, has given me a much needed boost. Thanks and Karma added :)
If you're having the nosound issue then a lot of us have sound cards and this has made no difference, also likewise for USB headsets (which I hadn't expected). Its a really strange issue - I fired up World in Conflict last night just to convince myself that my machine is capable of playing a game and sound at the same time :)
Sound shouldn't have that much impact imho.
Unfortunately not for me :( For some reason even in the main menu this game runs at almost (+85%), I can't think why the game would require that level of CPU at this point. In game its 100%. Not sure if its a clue but certainly seems to hit the processor hard. Still strange how sound has such a detrimental effect on the performance and why this game in particular :( Tals
Thanks for the update its really appretiated. I got the impression (maybe incorrectly) that the game doesn't make use of the sound cards acceleration (EAX?) - I only say this as my understanding is reverb should have an effect on the sound card processor not the pc? Tals
Post to /nosound topic and email stardock as per the instructions in that topic.
I have also been having this problem on a consistent basis.
If /nosound does work, please post to the pinned topic and also email stardock as per the pinned topic instructions, this is the only way we are likely to get a resolution
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M Your performance issues are most likely due to the onboard graphics of your laptop. Such nForce chipsets are actually considerably weaker than the Geforce 6800 which is the bare minimum. The game really needs a deidcated video card/chipset to run playably.
Well tbh that gfx is going to give you problems whatever game you play. Upgrade the card is the better way - bu
I'm not convinced on the Euro argument. As a Euro I tend to group with US guys - we have as much problem with US as we do with Euro's. It concerns me that this could be side tracking Stardock from the actual issue. I have no issue on connecting - although it can be sloooooooow, no sound - that's another matter :( Tals
I love the idea of a Rally flag for each God.
Can we get an update on the /nosound issue here? There was a brief showing from a Stardock rep in one of the larger threads, and I believe (might've imagined this D: ) that I saw something in earlier patch notes along the lines of acknowledging its existence. I just want to know if there's any noteworthy progress on this.
For me after connectivity this is my biggest issue. Really could do with some fo
I'm having the no sound issue as well, never had this problem with SupCom. How do I use /obtain and would I use that after playing the No sound shortcut or the regular shortcut?
What is /obtain?
USB headsets or onboard sound does not work for me. I'm hoping Stardock are a bit more persuasive than their previous publishers - they are at least taking an interest by pinning this topic
quoting post i just installed Demigod and i went to play but i found out that it is super laggy, any ideas on what the problem might be and how to fix it? Laggy in what sense? Is your FPS really low on a system that should be able to handle the game? If so, you might want to try running the game with the /nosound option. How to do that is described here: http://forums.demigodthegame.co
Love the Status Reports - adding a list of known issues and priorities would be great as well but keep it up. Thank you Tals
