Let me go on a little rant here. If you want to ignore it, thats fine. The easiest way to win a game of LoL is to play as a team. Now I realize that in normal we all play more loosely and try out weird champs. But even so we need to look at playing as a team in game more. Once the game the laning phase, you have to realize that if you leave your team you are basically saying "the other 4 of you cannot cross mid". You are really hosing your 4 teamm

OK, jungling is A LOT faster and safer with stronger masteries now. WW has 10 seconds gone off his clear time, Rammus is down to clearing jungle at 3:30, and Amumu is much faster and safer.
People saying that the patch changed all balance and all that doenst mean anything since people say that with every change ever. I dont think that the mastery changes will be that big of a deal really. The only place it may make a substantial difference is with some junglers. The summoner spell changes could be more significant. Surge especially might need some tweaking. But I dont think it will be game breaking.
It does have a mixed history. If you want something that's good for users: good ole games
So the only thing "mixed" about it according to you is that it exists. I see. Listen, you can choose to make up your own world where games dont need DRM. Where publishers are willing to get destroyed because 90%+ of the copies of their games are pirated (which is exactly
On a side note: fuck Steam. There was no point in releasing a single player game with using a DRM that has a mixed history like that. If the game had multiplayer, I'd have a different take on it.
Steam's DRM doesnt have a mixed history. Its overwhelming popular, and users dont mind it in general. They certainly like it MUCH better than the realistic alt
According to Steam, it looks like its actually unlocking at midnight EST, which is rare (usually its PST). The unlock times have been known to slip a bit though, so who knows.
So - who is a good combo to play with janna bot lane? Seems like aragorn mains janna from the games I've played w/ him. I'm just not sure who would be a solid lane partner for her, though. Any thoughts? 2nd thought re: mejias and karth - So, essentially you are paying 800 gold for what will be a decent buff that likely lasts for a bit of the game. But its 800 gold... which you could use for other items.&nbs
RE: kart - does anyone that uses him choose not to get mejias? Seems like he's a character that you would be a goof not to take that imo. As long as you aren't getting destroyed early/mid/late, you are sure to at least get some assist stacks from his ult and likely some kills. Just curious - though I haven't really seen many of you bothering with kart.
Mejeis on Karthus is bad. Generally Karthus dies A LOT bec
In other news, I've now lost 13 straight ranked games. Only 1 was close.
We should definitely put together some kind of team for the new Ranked Team feature that is supposed to be up soon. That means identifying the people who actually want to get into organized ranked play though. In other ranked news, I have currently lost my last 9 ranked games and 11 of the last 12. I've dropped from a gold rating to bronze. Its pretty cool. Just idiot team after idiot team against teams that are actually quite competent. Playing on a

Linux evangelists tried to woo people away from Windows for years with very similar lines about how the control Microsoft had over your computer was scary and evil and bad. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority don't care. They want something that works. Steam works. As of yet, nobody has an alternative that works bett
Quoting Krazikarl, reply 15Given the huge number of software pirates out there, most people accept it as reasonable that companies put some level of DRM in their games. I will be accepting DRM if it was really stopping piracy... in some case, you find already crack on the internet BEFORE the game is released... The only people who can know problem with DRM are in fact the honest player, pirates use version where DRM is already removed..
Back when Spore released, it looked like gamers were going to stand up and reject DRM, or at very least a large enough segment of the gamer population was going to do so that most publishers/developers would tread carefully around the issue. But now the vast majority have embraced the very same policies in the form of Steam, and those of us who say "no" aren't getting heard as more and more developers jump on the Steamworks ba
You really need to start playing ranked if you want to play at higher levels. Once you get out of low ELO its a much higher level of play and people actually use strategy a lot more. Normal is plagued with people not caring about strategy and playing champs that they dont normally play (which is what I normally do, LOL). It would be time to start thinking about getting into high level organized games once you can get to say a 1600 rating in ranked or so.

Its whatever you need to be tanky. A "true" tank needs to be able to do
Pacov - you might want to think about building Lichbane after Deatchcap on AP Sion. It greatly increases his damage output since he is one of the few casters to get into melee range.

Having a teammate that understands Sion's abilities makes it VERY easy to get early k
LeBlanc is the one you were trying to think of. She is really strong early but really weak late, which means that not a lot of people like playing her. AP Sion is somewhat easily countered if the other team knows what they are doing and suffers from the problem that he doesnt fit into the meta real well. He generally doesnt have the burst to really do a good job against the tanky DPS/sustain that gets put top, gets outranged mid where you cant really use bushes, and people
The rewards arent that great unless you get a ridiculous number of referrals. Even the first skin that you get (at 50 referrals) is a pretty lame skin.
I wouldnt worry too much about runes. And I wouldnt buy anything other than T3 runes when you hit 20. Really, you can get by with a basic set of flexible runes. So get: Armor Pen reds, Magic Pen reds, Mana /5 /level yellows, and flat CDR or flat MR blues, plus flat health quints. You might need flat armor yellows to jungle with some champs. With those runes you are going to be able to play most champs very close to ideally. Yes, there are some c

I have concluded in a level-headed fashion that Dominion is a Carry Champ players playground. I hindsight, I see my pure hatred of it being that I 99% usually a tank player. Given the natural 15 and 5% penetrations...tanks have a hard time just tanking. If you build your tank aggressivly they do alright. I did find a champ that I feel kicks ass in Dominion, tanky w
You dont get more IP for ranked.
I actually find that its easier to make up for bad teammates in Dominion. Just yell at them to either be back dooring or defending, neither of which are hugely difficult. The key is that the number of viable champs seems to be much lower on Dominion. The difference between top tier champs (Rammus, Jax, Garen, Akali being up there) and lower tier champs (Nasus, Veiger etc) is much bigger than on Summoner's Rift. So pick a good tanky DPS and you can do quite a bit
A lot of the time you were firing random ults into the opponents. Once they see that, they know that there is only a handful of places where you can see them well enough to aim close to them and still be in range. So their Blitz was just guessing where you would be. Its dangerous to give away the fact that you are nearby if they have champs like Blitz and Ez. Anyway, that Riven who wasnt part of our premade cost us the game. He was completely unaware of what wa
I got to play almost 2 hours worth of Dominion today since I was around during the Beta window. Its pretty fun. I think that there are going to be some serious balancing issues (Garen and Singed...ugh), but its definitely something different. Also, ranked is stupid. Riot doesnt understand basic statistics, so they do this thing where they are rewarding your first few games with big ELO boosts for a win and big losses for a loss. Its under
