^The list seems a bit off... maybe it's a little older? I'm not exactly sure what level you're in, but if you're climbing up to 30, the easiest thing to do is to just pick an AD carry and just carry your way to ~1500 elo, then support. AD carry is extremely easy and as long as you can keep your distance (which isn't that hard with flash and a lot of AD carries have escape mechanics) then you should be

A few comments about ranked since you say you want to transition into it: Team composition is A LOT more important in ranked. In normal people generally dont care too much. So if you take that second AP carry or whatever, people arent going to be upset and it wont be a big deal. But in ranked the team comp not only matters, but if you make a strange pick, people are going to yell at you for doing it. So that means that you MUST be able to play multiple champs
I jungle most of the time when I play ranked (for example, I have almost 250 ranked games worth of WW), so I'll say a few things about it: In general, dont take a jungle route if you absolutely NEED a leash. If you really need the leash that badly, you will probably get very low on hp. That means that any kind of counter jungling will stomp you. You usually want to make sure that you have enough health at all points on your jungle path to at least be able to flas
In general the best thing to do is to press Tab and see what items they are using. Once you get used to the items, you can tell at a glance how somebody is building their champ. If you see Deathcap and the like, they are going AP. If you see Infinity Edge, its an AD build. If you see defensive items, its some kind of tank build. This is actually important because some champs can be built different ways. For example, Xin Zhao can either go AD Carry or tank
Can someone help me understand a few concepts please? AD and AP carries, etc - what do those mean? How do I know who is what in game and how much attention should I be paying to things like this? I know these are very broad questions... thx.
"Carry" as its used nowadays, is basically synonymous with "damage dealer". It used to mean something a bit different, but thats ho
I understand your point, she went from support to DPS, but since i love playing support and specifically healers, its definitely a nerf in my book lol. I havent played her since they changed her though (Deus Ex was released lol) I should get a game or 2 in to see how well she does against the AP carries. How do you recommend she should be built then? Starcall as primary and tanky AP items? [/quo
Pacov: Yeah, Shen can be a Jungler but its not ideal I know. I've been reading some guides on the whole process but its kinda pointless when I'm so far behind before the game even starts... all those T3 Runes and the extra 23 Masteries people have make it an even more uphill battle. I've been trying to play Taric but its very counter-intuitive. I'm kinda a Tank and my auto attack gives me mana back
Yeah, you should save your IP for tier 3 runes until you get a few full pages. Jungling without proper runes is especially difficult - I dont recommend it since your jungle will just be too slow. You should be hitting level 4 in the jungle at about 4 minutes to keep pace with lanes btw. You might be a bit slower with a tank like Amumu, but it shouldnt be that much slower than that. Typically its best to just play the free champs until you really know what you want.</
Some champs are a lot more difficult to play than others once you play against people who know what they are doing. Take Teemo. He is very easily killed, a highly desirable target (high damage, easy to kill), has only moderate range, and has no built in escape mechanism. Tristana, for example, fills a similar role but is easier to play. She is just as squishy and is a simililarly desirable target, but she has greater range, a built in escape mechanism (Rocket Jump) a
You can't buy IP directly. You only get it by playing. You can buy boosts that will get you a bit more per game. Dont really worry about your IP rate - just keep playing. There are 3 champions with moving invisibility - Eve, Shaco, and Twitch. Eve and Twitch are really bad champs now. Eve can probably beat up on clueless people, but is shut down very easily against people who know what they are doing. Shaco is good, but also requires a high skil
Dont buy runes until you hit level 20 and can use tier 3 runes. You are wasting IP otherwise. Where you put mastery points isnt a huge deal early on - just go with what makes the most sense and dont stress out about it. Annie is indeed good and is a good character to learn how to play with. She farms well and her skills encourage you to last hit properly. Plus she is strong in general.
As with all communities of games of this types, you will run into griefers and 12 year old internet tough guys. Just use your ignore function. Once you start doing that its really not so bad. Especially in normal mode, most people are really just fine. Ranked is a bit ragier, but you dont have to play ranked if you cant handle that kind of nonsense.
It could be like the Dragon Age 2 thing. There is a version of SecuROM that just checks release date type stuff - it prevents you from playing the game early. After that it goes away and doesnt do anything. It is NOT the root kit version of SecuROM, its a completely different program made by the same company that unfortunately has the same name. Thats speculation on my part, but given the "no DRM" statements being made by everybody, its a good bet I think. </p
Can you name me one RTS that has more interesting and more diverse missions?
Indisputably: Myth 1 Myth 2 Probably: Homeworld Thats just off the top of my head. I'm sure that I could think of a lot more if I wanted to. I found SC2's single player good but certainly not great.
I'm pretty sure that the game as it is was meant to be about a ~10 hour first act to Dragon Age 2. But EA wanted to cash in on the series, so they made Bioware release way early. So they just took their planned first act, fleshed it out with a bunch of sidequests and used the new mechanics that they developed and called it a whole game. That would explain the complete lack of a larger story, the ending (which is a cliffhanger of sorts), and why this game was so lacking in a
I dont mind the gameplay decisions. I didnt find that they really dumbed down the game in a bad way. But there are other problems. I've completed the game, and the main story is VERY weak throughout. Some of the sidequests are nice, but the main story is just weak. It doesnt feel epic in any way, and frankly its about the quality of sidequests in other bioware games. The constant reuse of settings gets old after a while too. RPGs are supposed to

Part 2 I finished in about 4 hours total. I only hope part 3 is a bit longer.
I think that you missed some quests or broke the quest chains early. Part 2 took longer than part 1 for me.
Luckman - The graphics problems are on your end. My game looks NOTHING like the screenshots you posted. Its much much much better. You might want to play with graphics settings because you have something messed up if that is what you are seeing. I also dont agree with the "dumbed down for no good reason" nonsense. Crafting? I like the new crafting system better. Most people dont play these games for crafting. They dont play a fantasy
Yeah, I think that judged on its own, its a solid but not great game. 8-8.5 sounds about right. Its not the same as DAO which is what is throwing people. Also, the metacritic scores dont mean anything - 4chan's /v/ boards had a little campaign to bomb the ratings there.
The thing is that Steam is (mostly) already DRM lite on most of their games. All you have to do is log in once (not a problem since you downloaded the game from them), set the game to offline, and you can play it all you want without needing anything else like an internet connection. Steam works because most people have no problem at all with this level of DRM. A small number of people make Steamworks out to be some kind of demon, but its really not intrusive at all - most p
GPG has really not been doing well lately. Space Siege was a mess. Demigod was a failure due to some nonsense on top of a really good foundation (that game SHOULD have been great dammit). SuppComm 2 was a huge disappointment. Dungeon Siege III is being made by somebody else. I really dont think that this company is going to be around much longer. I used to be a fan (since I was a huge fan of TA back in the day), but they have just not gotten the job done
I really hope that they announce a Demigod 2. Demigod had a great foundation that just had too many flaws on top of that foundation. Frankly, the MOBA genre is there for the taking. LoL is very nice, but HoN and the upcoming DOTA 2 are just ripoffs of a pretty old game at this point. People love the genre, so if you could put out Demigod 2 even with the same graphics but just more on top of the foundation you would do very well. Not just in terms of money, but I
LoL did it perfectly. You dont sell power, but you do sell looks and flexibility. I think that enough people will always pay for those things if your game is good. Never sell power, since thats going to always turn off a huge percentage of your potential player base. So many people, like me, just hate that. I dont know where SD is going with Society since the info on the website is quite outdated (they still say they have an expected release date of 2007, lol).
Hmm, I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Myth: The Fallen Lords or Myth 2. They are indisputably great games that make pretty much every "greatest PC games ever" list. To be honest, I dont see how you can have an opinion on non base RTS games unless you have played those game since they did it best IMO. The key to non base building RTS games is that your combat has to be REALLY good, and the combat has a lot to it. I think that DoW II was kind of fun, but the com

But I know it wouldn't keep my attention for all that long any more, yea, I think it's sunset for CoH. I would just sit for hours p
