Yeah, I'm probably going back to a mix of LoL and TOR. I have only played one game recently to prevent my ranked ELO from decaying. Also, the new champ is a tank, and I like tanks, so I'll probably buy her right away. Hopefully she actually fits into the meta unlike Leona. Leona is fun to play but just isn't usable in ranked really.

I am curious however, as I see metacritic is averaging reviews in the mid 80's, any complaints on the game from those playing?
You don't want to trrust Metarcitic on games like this. 10% of the haters will be people hating because it isn't exactly what WoW is, and 10% are sandbox MMO fans who will always b

Im now playing mostly my BH on the Kaas City server. I got my Jedi Guardian up to 46 with 400 in all crafting areas, so I'll go back to him eventually. BH feels A LOT stronger than Jedi Guardian so far...
Oh boy. The original XCOM was a top 10 game of all time. Terror From the Deep was decent too (I actually liked the HP Lovecraft theme more than the B movie theme of the original), but the series died after that. Redoing the series is big if they do it right.
You level 2 mount costs 210,000 just to train the skill, so have fun with that. Anyway, I started up a bounty hunter on Kaas City named Krazikarl. Servers are going nuts tonight for me though.
@Fistalis - unfortunately, all of you mmo bastards wrecked things for those that came along later. If WoW didn't originally have a similar pricing scheme in place (buy the game and then buy a subscription), the concept probably wouldn't be as easily accepted. Odds are SWTOR will have some sort of way to try it out play without buying the game sometime in the next 6 months. Anyway, it's pricey, but I'm certainly enjoying myself. Will I
Yes, each character is tied to one and only one server. This is standard for MMOs - you create a character on a server and it generally stays there. Some games let you transfer characters to a new server (usually for a price), but thats not exactly that common. The bug with enemy mobs dropping aggro and going to full health was all over for a little bit last night. It seemed to have been fixed outside of about a 15 minute window.
The shield is just a proc, isnt it? As in you equip it, and it procs every once in a while automatically. By default shields are pretty crappy - 5% proc at 20% is only a 1% overall damage reduction. But with skills the shielding effect becomes substantial.
I thought that it was possible to play as a Light Side Sith (or a Dark Side Jedi)? I'm playing a light side Jedi, so I can't be sure on that, but thats what I've heard.
I like this game a lot. I'm up to level 25 after having played way too much this weekend. Jedi Guardian feels a bit weak, but still isn't too hard, so its all good.
I was actually on Guardsman Bob's stream a few times last season. I think that I won both times. He is pretty good - the one game I remember he played lanewick (back when lanewick was OP), and I just could not gank him from the jungle. It made me mad. Luckily we won anyway since the rest of his team sucked.
Urgot suffers meta problem. He doesn't scale well into the late game and is range isnt great in teamfights, so you dont want him as your teams primary AD carry. That means he can't bot. He doesnt have the durability, escapes, or sustain to be a good top. And he doesnt jungle well. That means he pretty much needs mid lane. And where are you going to put your AP Carry if you can't put them mid? So he works very well mid if you can do somet
Its not really BioWare. EA just renames all their old game studios to BioWare X to take advantage of the BioWare brand name. For example, Mythic Studios is now BioWare Mythic, despite not having anything to do with the original BioWare. This studio was called Victory Games until today, when EA renamed it: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/3
Please dont start at wolves. Its a horrible starting spot for most champs. If you want to get to 4 fast, start at wraiths, then blue, then just go across. It prevents you from having to cross mid 3 times.
I really can't believe what a middle finger Riot gave to junglers. The stupidist thing is that you are 1 xp short of hitting level 4 with the best clear. The best path is generally Wraits->Blue->Wolves->Wraiths->Red->Double Golems. Thats puts you level 3 with 500 of 500 experience needed for level 4. Which doesnt let you hit it because you need 1 more xp. No way thats a coincidence. Which just means that junglers now need to be using
The jungle isnt really any worse than before, its just much much more boring. In general, the "correct" strategy is now to farm. Dont risk losing gold and xp by ganking. You just can't open gank windows where you dont lose gold and xp except with very specific champions. So you just stay in jungle til level 6 or 7 now. Its pretty effective, especially on champs that have weak early games but strong late games (Irelia, Akali, Nasus...). But its
My initial impressions of the new jungle: Its a substantial nerf to aggressive jungling and a slight buff to passive jungling. Essentially, jungling has become more of a PvE instead of a PvP experience. Its harder to get in position for ganks now, and you now lose substantial xp for ganking. If you arent successfully ganking, you will be substantially behind. This is unlike before where you could open up windows where even unsuccessful ganks didnt put y
Its somewhat ironic that you called CLG well organized considering that they had a huge partial meltdown last night, but whatever...lol. And yes, many mids like to wander. Because of their ability to burst, they can often pick up kills even if the other team is pushed all the way to lane. For example, if you leave as Annie, you can kill somebody under a tower in about a second and get out with 1 tower hit on you, which is something that junglers generally cant do on their
Hrm, season 2 is started and we can now make team that will get ranked. This should be very interesting.
Gragas is fine in ranked. In fact, he can open up things in terms of bans since playing Gragas means that you dont have to ban Morgana since Grag can stand up to Morg and his ult counters her ult to some degree.
Thats why I said that you had to get to a reasonable ranked ELO, which means 1350+ basically. Even thats a big step down from 1500, but its where you start seeing decent play.
Yes, you stay powerballed if you flash on Rammus. Getting better means playing against better players. If you play against poor players, you get negative feedback a lot less often. This means that if you do something wrong, they are unlikely to punish you for it. So you dont realize that its wrong. Against good players, they will punish you for it, and you get better fast. Right now you play almost exclusively low ELO normal. The easiest way to ge
Very well explained. And this is why i almost never played 5v5s and have pretty much stopped playing LoL altogether. A team game where, from minute 10 (or even earlier) on, you HAVE to stay together with all your teammates, and it all revolves around who wins the clusterf*ck 5v5 teamfights are holds very limited interest to me. I know, i'm simplifying it a bit, but in the end that's basically what LoL games are all about. I gu
Pacov - I like how you build Rammus in general, but I like building HoG a lot and Philo Stone not so much. Rammus really needs the HP from HoG anyway since he is a low HP/high armor tank. Plus HoG builds into Randuins which is still a good item even after being repeatedly nerfed.
