The fundamental problem with Civ V is that it was released in a broken state. I beat the game on standard settings at Immortal difficulty my second game. Thats how bad the AI was at release. It's nice that its gotten better, but its taken so long to get the game even to an OK state.
If you tower dive two enemies alone, and get one kill, then die, you lost. You gained 300 gold. Your enemy gained 300 gold plus 210.
I thought that this was pretty well known. This is why I usually play fairly aggressively on tower dives in the mid game. If you dive somebody 2v1, and you get the kill but die in the process, its worth it. Your team got kill gold plus assist gold, they got only kill gold.

Yorick is supposed to take teleport so that he has some presence outside of lane early. The basic idea is that he isn't going to get ganked or killed no matter what summoners he takes, so exhaust or ignite aren't really worth it anyway. But he should be a monster in any dragon fights, or if there is a gank going down bot. Suddenly Yorick TPs in, can't be killed, ults the ad carry, slows the hell out of the other team, and they all die.

With old classics, you either make the same game over with a bit of sparkle, and it feels dated or you remake it with modern gameplay ideas and the old time gamers feel cheated (not me, but many gamers seem to feel that way). Best to just make a new franchise and say goodbye to those old ones forever.
Oh please, if Stardock made GalCiv3 right now, it would almost certainly be b

It's "Master of Orion". Anyway...
quoting post I grew up on Masters of Orion II and was bitterly disappointed with Masters of Orion III. It totally missed the point that the game was meant to be fun and filled with big strategic decisions. Instead it was mired down in tiresome micro-management and replaced fun with realism. What? We could have held out in last nights game if we didn't have the DC right as I was running in to contest baron. We would have had to turtle, but it wasnt a loss and we would have won eventually probably. But going 4v5 when they have baron at that stage of the game is an auto loss. But anyway, that game does bring up a good thing to remember - generally don't go for dragon that late in the game when baron is up. They can usually take baron before you can run f

I have the feeling that this guy does great with Shaco at like 1000 ELO and thinks he is all that, but would get crushed at higher ELOs. Anyway, if you go over to my thread "Hey, I actually like Civ V", I actually regret NOT listening to Gamespot on that one. It was the exact opposite situation. Critical reviews are definitely not the be-all, end-all, but we at least need something to go by before plunking down our money.
Gamespot's review was way off at release. I don't mind the smaller teams and having only 1 main base. To be honest, the originals did get bogged down by requiring you to start some mission types with very large squads. This meant that taking down an alien base in TFTD took FOREVER. And I didn't even bother with things like Artifact sites (other than to show up and immediately dust off) just because it would tie up a whole gaming session just to clear one site. The same applies to the stupid multilevel

I dont know how I feel about the UI being based on consoles. It seems like it would be really annoying in a game like this. I really hope that they don't do the classic move of making the UI for consoles and then doing a crappy job of porting it to the PC.

I was just thinking about (apparently I think about strange crap on lunch breaks from time to time) having a teemo or rat or eve tp to a tower as soon as the game started after buying a sight ward. You wouldn't need to tp if you were eve or the rat, ofc. Anyway, if it was teemo, he'd tp to the tower at the start, then place a ward at the back corner of wolves

Weeee, had the same troll 3 games in a row in ranked. First game she demanded top from 4th pick, went Riven v Nidalee, and super fed (0/9/0 at 20 minutes). Everybody else was winning, so we tried to keep playing since we were actually even on kills despite top. But Riven REALLY wanted to surrender to avoid getting more deaths (and looking worse in Tribunal when reported for feeding). When we refused to surrender, she just wnadered around map doing random things (1v1
