Antibody, take a look at this website. I ask that you read through it and provide counter - arguments if you wish after you have read trough it. This provides some of the "verifiable evidence". http://www.near-death.com/evidence.html The argument that all NDEs are similar in many aspects is both the afterlife, "God is real" theory's greatest strength and greatest weakness. You could be right in that for some darn reason (an evolutionary reason?) that if you starve the brain

so you are saying that rather than believing that brain malfunction, which can be measured, is responsible i should rather believe some hair-bending story about temporary soul-traveling and afterlife, which is not the least bit verifiable? Ok, here is something. Do people have NDEs where there is nothing to do with God and the afterlife? If NDEs are solely a function of the brain and nothing more, why wouldn't a NDE just be l

Even more so with self-sacrifice. The man/women who pushes a child away from a moving bus (or stampeding buffalo) can no longer spread those good person genes. I think you get it by now. That desire likely arose when everyone next to you was your kin. In that way you are spreading a portion of your genes (depending on your own likelihood to breed again, and the likelihood of the child living after pushing them out of the way - it

Good one Daniel scientists transferred the genome of one bacterium into another one. so scientists transferred parts from one living cell to another living cell. that is the same as making a cell that never had life and making it live. Good one Daniel. When scientists can basically slop together a bunch of atoms and form a living biological organism with absoultely 0 reliance on an already living organsim, then I

Hi! Why is it that athletes are constantly breaking world records? Drugs and stimulants? Looking at all those recent affairs in various sports, most certainly true. BR, Iztok Well, anyway that proves it right there that medical technology is awesome!! I mean with medical technology we can actually perform physical feats better than ever. Better than our cavemen cosuins allowed to evolve natually! Thanks for provid

Also, why our humans taller and more healthy overall than back in the 1700s? Jeeze, it must be because of our damned medical technology! Better food and what not. So do you seriously believe we are better off being like cavemen for all eternity refusing no medical technology and evoloving naturally???? What if an asteroid heads our way 500 years from now?? It may very well be possible to prevent an asteroid from colliding with the Earth thus allowing our species to survive and rep

Ok, here is the thing. If God doesn't exist, if there is no afterlife, if you die and its game over, then nothing really matters. Nothing. It doesn't matter if I get to live for 300 years of a wonderful life. When I finally die, thats it. My last memory will die when my last neuron dies. It isn't like I get to live with my memories forever. So, nothing matters. Shit, if I feel like killing a hundred babies because it makes me feel good why not? Sure, somebody will kill me maybe

Religion, infects youre mind, and makes you think god exists. It's like a virus that gets you addicted to the virus. Lets not talk religion. Lets talk near death experiences. I think that is decent evidence for God and the afterlife. People who have near death experiences are ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED they know God exists. If millions of people said they were robbed last night and you weren't would you believe them? I think you would. I take

If you look at a human body, it has many vital components all working together in harmony for us to servive. If you look at just one common failing such as the gland that produces insulan, where medical science can fill that gap, then it is easy to conclude, based on the way evolution works that over time, allot of time, we will all loose the ability to produce insulan. the bodies we grow into aren't established on a one-to-one b

then it is easy to conclude, based on the way evolution works that over time, allot of time, we will all loose the ability to produce insulan. A move away from our finely tuned bodies?? Why is it that athletes are constantly breaking world records? Certainly world records should have been set back in like the 1800s and then never ever broken again, correct, if our bodies have been getting less and less finely tuned because of our "damned" medical tec

I have to agree on the tech. The game feels way less epic when you can descover 4 techs in the time it takes to build a "new" ship. I am scared that Sins of a Solar Empire will also feel less epic because it seems like I can research so fast.. One thing I like with Sins of a Solar Empire is how long it takes to phase jump to a distant star. It litterally takes like 10 minutes. In a real time game, 10 minutes is a long time. That aspect alone makes the game feel epic. I can underst

Nope. I have not done a single illegal drug in my entire life. Once, in my whole life I smoked a cigar but I have never smoked standard cigaretts. My point is, medical technology is very good. It is also good that we aren't like when we were cave men where as a human race, we had a comparitevely narrow gene pool (because certain gene types died before reproduction). Medical technology enables people with those genetics to survive and reproduce who would have died during our cave men

evolution will slowly devolve us back to single celled organisms as a direct result of medical science allowing inferior genetics to survive and reproduce What the f@#$? Are you on drugs? Define "inferior genetics". Is someone who is short and fat genetically inferior to someone muscular, tall, athletic? What if there is a civilization ending plague? Guess who survives? The fat kid!! The muscular guy burns fat so fast with his nice lean physique th

i think both stats can be considered correct. at any given moment, less than 12% of your brain is active. however, that doesn't mean you don't need the other 88%, or that it's just wasting away there. over the course of several minutes or hours, all of your brain will get use most likely. the brain isn't wired to use those neurons for other stuff when they're not in use, except over long periods of time and due to lack of proper stimulation (for example, the visual cor

Is their a debug.err file that could be used for this game like Galactic Civ. 2? That would make things easy for posting system specs. Anyway, I had a bug where the ships were in icon mode (when you zoom out and the ships appear as icons), and no matter how closely you zoomed in, they still remained as icons. Also, a computer ship would follow my screen no matter how I scrolled, and as later on, all of my icon ships would appear to travel through the planets rather than around them as they sho

No we did not exist we where not though or energy we just were not. Please change your statement to "it is POSSIBLE we did not exist we where not through or energy we just were not." No one can claim 100% proof or disproof of the afterlife or God. Christians cannot PROVE God exists. I cannot PROVE God exists. Aethesists cannot PROVE God does not exist. We believe certain things. Please do not represent as absolute facts. Same goes for me

Well, it is a fact that humans use only about 3-5% of their brain's potential Actually i do not personally believe this to be true. We just cannot detect how a human being uses 50-100% of his brain. The main reason i believe this is because nature typically does not have a habit of providing anything more or less than what we need to survive, so why give us 95% of brain tissue we don't need? hahaha, 3-5% is almost laughable when i look at it from

The opening music kicks a#$#$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will start up SOSE and crank up the music just to listen to the music and not even play the game. I prefer low resources because then I feel like I actually have time to think. With high resources, I get into situations where I can hardly spend my money fast enough, and I am spending the whole game just clicking on stuff to "buy" once I get just a few planets up and running. If I sit back and watch a few battles up close for fun, I
