Um trade is horrible on larger maps. PERIOD. (unless something has changed in 1.3) I don't even bother with it anymore, it's far too much work for the little bit of money and diplomatic relations. It definately wasn't play tested on larger maps. (who needs 750 to 1500 a turn in trade when you're making 20k+ a turn ?) I'm well into the game (a month or two). yuck! This is why I prefer medium galaxies. I just set everything to abundant settings and it feels like their is plenty to do with planets, anomolies, etc. (which are everywhere). I can finish each game in a night or two, and I probably get maybe 50% through the tech tree before I commit everything to destroying everyone (100% military spending once I think my research advantage in weapons and defenses is hig

boring when the AI goes to war? War is the funnest part. Destroying ships and sporing entire planets is wicked fun. Influence and tech victory is boring. You just defend yourself and essentially hit next turn with tech victory. Influence victory is just constructor haven.

yet for some reason the only options when invading a planet are to send your forces in old fashioned style or use a spore bomb. You can't use photonic torpedo bombs for some reason.

When I'm the Korath, I'm gonna nuke the entire Torian FRAKIN race! You mean spore bomb them. Nukes don't exist for some weird reason in this age of hyper drives, shields, and beam weapons.

I love the others, but every time this one comes up I feel like never using them again. It would be nice to have the option to enable/disable certain mega events from showing up. That seems to be the superior option.

As I play Korath, that shouldn't be a problem, as my soldiers do their duty or I release them out into space without a suit if I am a generous, or with a suit and a months worth of oxygen, food, and water if I am especially evil and not so generous!!! That way, they can just float around for a month until they suffocate!!!

if you figure out how to get your girlfriend interested in the game you'd have to be even smarter than brad wardell and all the staff here at stardock. hope it works out for ya I wonder how many females play this game?? Respond if female! I know video games are much more a male thing, probably because most games are about war, killing, conquering, etc.

ok thanks!! I figured it out. Only one more thing: will this effect metaverse games? Also, I may have uncovered a bug: When I went though the normal galaxy setup to see if my pic was in there, (then saw that it was), I backed out to the main menu and saw that the metaverse option was greyed out and unselectable on the main menu. I restarted a game, selected metavers, logged in, and upon seeing that my pic was in there, I went back to the main menu and noticed the normal game option was grey

Space just doesn't *Change*, it would have to be a cataclysmic event to do that! Something around the areas of The Big Rip, Dark matter gone amuck, or the space time continuum is disrupted so much it threatens to destroy the universe. If space did change, they wouldn't say speed limit, they would say: "Space has been ripping because of intense hyperdrive travel. To keep it safe, the speed of our ships must be lowered to five parsecs." That I agree with.
