At the end of the game, the leader of your side side realises that a military victory is impossible. So he uses his entire army as a decoy. The army is killed to the last man, but provides enough of a distraction for you to lead a small force to kill the enemy leader. If strategies like that are feasible for the weaker faction, then this will be a fun ride!
No it won't because only an idiot would allow that to happen from the

Yeah the way Stardock et all speak out against DRM and copy protection and then turn around and sell games with it on them you know what that makes Stardock? Benedict Arnolds of the software industry in my eyes. You can't take a stand against one thing and then support that one thing by distributing their products. I think that's worse than being a liar, they become a traitor. I'm glad to know this about Stardock now. I'll be sure and change my sigs and tell everyone their sleezy methods now.

Who the hell are the PENQUINS? lmao I miss the days when it was Toronto Maple Leafs or Montreal Canadians for the cup. And Derik Sanderson my all time favorite player from the Boston Bruins. Bobby Orr manoman they just don't make em like that anymore.

Just don't make multiplayer so important that the game loses it's solo player fizz. This is what Triumph did to AOW:SM it is so multiplayer oriented the AI is pitiful and the solo game both campaign and random suks royally. The only players left for that game on the forum are the multiplayers as they ruined the game so much for all the solo players. The community made mods (they call them patches haha) are so multiplayer oriented it's sickening 1.04 and soon 1.05 all geared toward w
Make it optional. People start with the easy way. Later they can put everything = resource on and create enhanced things.
I agree with this. Have you ever looked at Western Civilizations game OPTIONS setup page? These guys know how to create a template and LET THE PLAYER DECIDE HOW HE WANTS TO PLAY instead of being force to play a certain way. Btw if you don't know who Western Civilization is they are the ones who mad

Wow on normal you say? lol I always play on hard or impossible with max AI players. I find that using a small map really increases the challenge level as well and make a house rule I can't use max death or life magics. Only 3 max if I use them since really Death is so powerful I don't see how anyone could lose playing it. Sorcery 'counter magic' spell is pretty overpowered as well. Plus Blue Skydrakes are the killer unit of choice. Channeling makes for a pretty easy game as well. I think that
Oh, and while I loved AOW, I also hated AOW:II (everything epic and fun about the first one was somehow lost in the second one). So we are agreed on that much.
Ahh good then you ain't half bad afterall. ;) AOW:II and AOW:SM were a sham and a waste of good programming time. Now about that RANDOM MAP GENERATOR for EWoM??? Don't do what Triumph did and leave it out until the 3rd remake. EWoM MUST HAVE a RANDOM CAMPAIGN MAP GENERATOR and random

No way that is the most stupid idea ever and that is why AOW series suks since AOW:II and why there is no AOW:III the series suks the game failed and everyone started playing something else. ;) I implore stardock developers do not ruin this game as Triumph did making the wizard the central tactical feature of the game. It narrows the strategy choices down to just diplomatically make peace with the race you want to conquer. March 3 or more full stacks up to the enemy castle and then de

I actually read it as sarcastic the first time around, but then Solam steps in all serious. Doesn't it occur to people that if you were to have 20 cities, you'd have 20 cities more than the chann

I believe some of the first beta testers should be of a quality of all ages and computer types. I think they need to get a feel for how different age groups will react to different aspects of the game. I also think they need to have testers with high and low end systems so they can get a feel for what the recommended and required system setups they need. I am in my 50's so I would fit the elderly age group that they surely need to let them know what is liked and not liked about the game from
Tac Combat Map 1) Squares
Yes I want squares in the tac combat Map just like MOM. I want the game to look every bit as much like MOM as possible without infringing on copyright. I want the ultimate spiritual successor to MOM that this game could ever be. The only thing they need to really change is the number of AI difficulty levels the AI has and AI improvements using the spells and expanding of course. :)

After that movie I saw with the armored bear and him fighting the other bear I surely think we need bear cavalry in this game. Warg riders as well. Oh and be sure and put in the lycanthrope ability. I could always stomp MOM with that spell. Nothing like an army of werewolves that the entire pack regens as long as there is ONE left and he only has 1 hit point left. lol That was a bit overpowered I think but a lot of fun to march around the map with stomping everything in sight except may

In the origional Master of Magic as long as you had another city you got a chance to come back. I remember killing some of the ai's and them coming back in like 10 turns and sometimes turning the tables on me and I almost lose. I surely don't think they should ruin this game right off by copying Triumphs pos game that if you kill the wizard the entire race loses. That was the most rediculous thing Triumph introduced. Once again I hope Stardock isn't that stupid. People want to conquer the ENT

Wow you exploiting lil bassturds. Never seen so much ai exploiting in all my born days. Truely proves the Game Genie age has arrived. In case you don't know what a game Genie is it was a console cheat mechanism invented back in the mid 80's to allow kids to cheat their way through games and teach them to exploit the mechanics of the game instead of trying to beat it on their own. Then when PC's arrived game magazines started publishing cheat codes and I was just amazed game developers we

Yet, there are still those that say MOO II is still the best. But, after playing GalCiv2 and all the expansions MOO II finally moves into 2nd place for me. But, Sins of the Solar Empire well some may like it but real time just don't cut it with me as far as strategy goes. RTS games use templates not strategy. They aren't even a good chess game since once you have a template build rarely do you ever change from it.

Yeah baby I was just thinking about this idea today (and other days but today it came back to me again). I'd love to have an rgp space/trading game like Freelancer with a flucuating economy and several stories not just one. Something more open ended like Daggerfall by Bethesda. Elite Frontier tried to do this years ago, but, the game was so buggy and crashed so often that it failed. I'd love to see another version of this with 3D first person gaming on planets and in space. Sorta like Bethesd

This AI does not cheat at this level. You just don't know how to play. Every game I play at this level I get way ahead of the ai in economy and research and only lag behind in military/industrial/social production as I'm getting ahead in the main catagories. Then when I am so far ahead I turn to military production and reap the rewards of being the most advanced civ on the map as every AI will buy my techs from me and bow to my power as my military climbs way above the rest. Learn how to buil

Also if you are economically sound like I always am you can just buy a race to start a war with another race. Plus the higher your diplomatic rating the easier it is to get them to start a war and the less it costs. Sometimes just giving them a small puny tech or a weapon tech will get them started. I once had the entire galaxy at war with one another and I was friends with them all reaping the rewards as I would jump into them when a race had lost significant holdings and ships. lol It's kin

6 Replies 6,538 Views

That's pretty kewl, but, I'm finding the ai too easily is letting go of it's unique techs. I also see Stardock and Froggy never fixed the back door of information from all races and what they are researching next. If you goto STATS and then MISL tab you can see what each race is researching and how long until it is researhed. Watching this every turn you can then sell them or trade them the tech and make a profit on it before they get to it by 1 or 2 turns (my choice). Or you can rush
