I would rather an option for AI always surrenders to AI. I like challenge in my games and I'd rather see the AI give their stuff to another race and keep the game challenging than give it all to me. Make me work for what I gets. So instead of just AI surrendering off add AI surrenders to another AI too. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.g

Tech trading with the AI is an exploit and you shouldn't be doing it if you're really that good.
Lol I planet rush every game and am always in 1st on economy and technology. You're just not working with your economics and taxes and research settings correctly. And to keep the AI from attacking all you have to do is keep at least 1 ship at every planet and keep your military growing when you spot the AI's start to make their first warships. Also rush the diplomacy techs, it's one more plus to keep the AI off of you when they see you have a diplomatic advantage, plus you get better trade deal
Double post due to this website having terrible problems and issues, great game guys but your website/forum is rated F haha
I've noticed this in every game on every difficulty. Single troup transports trying to invade my territory and I have long range sensor ships spiderwebbed around my territory with 1 measly weapon on them. It's a turkey shoot if any transport ship tries to come through. Perhaps a new programming to move transports like I do always shadowed by a fleet in the same square as them. Course I also have long range transports that can move 12 squares
Yeah there needs to be some kind of "need permission" to cross borders or it's an act of war. In my lastest game I put fleets of 7 ships at every planet of the YOR (16) of them, had my transports within range of attack (12 spaces) and the AI did declare war before I attacked, BUT, he accepted peace the very SAME turn. And the next turn I slaughtered it. I even bought all the other races to attack it also. The poort YOR just got smeared and cremated wit
I've found that one entertainment center and 1 or 2 stock markets will support a 17 population with a 59% tax setting quite easily and not drop below the 45% popularity rating. Works for me and I get great income and a lot less chance of losing my planet because my population is only 5. In multiplayer I would roll over your planets so fast you wouldn't know what hit yah with low poplations like you have.
You probably got trojans and spyware out the ying yang cause my system sounds identical to yours and I have seconds for loads and even when I minimize the screen it back up within 30 seconds or less. Don't blame the software when it's your system that can clearly be the culprit with your issues. Specially when many others aren't experiencing this with same specs. I suggest reformatting your drive and getting it nice and clean again. <img src="http://im
You can get on peoplepc.com for $5.47 a month now for 3 months. If you can't afford that you shouldn't be playing games. And don't come back and give us you don't have a telephone. lol That's just a matter of "standard computer gaming" you MUST have internet access to get patches and register your games. Otherwise SOL baby.
It doesn't matter Terrans suk anyways.
Lol he must be playing on some ancient system like a 486sx25 hahaha 40 minutes is goooood for those ancient machines. Time to stop being stingy and upgrade.
Actually I think the no tech trading is going to make it harder on the human player down the line unless they play of course the YOR or Iconians. If it weren't for tech trading now I wouldn't have such a magnificant lead in technology and have 10's of thousands of credits to buy whatever I please. I will be forced to build up armaments and just go take those techs 1 by 1 from each planet that I conquer. Maybe you should disable that as well or give an
What a complex pain in the ass suggestion to have to deal with. I like the beer and pretzels way the game plays as it already is. Don't need all this engines and power cells and combinations of applications and mathematical conglomerations mucking things up.
Where can I find the preview link to what's gonna be in 1.1 patch? please thank you...you're so kind whoever tells me .
I'm surprised the developers didn't go with an "Intergalactic Intellecutual Copyright" feature with this patch update. Cmon what's the big issue nowadays and software piracy?? It's stealing intellectual copyright isn't it? The total solution, you can buy a tech but you can only sell techs your race actually researches, period. So, then if you want big cash from trading, it makes your own research a bigger priority than just buying up the other races te
I like the idea of limiting just 4 starbases per sector. This gives the AI another added advantage since I've seen them come over into my sectors and just build the 1st phase of an influence starbase. This would mess up my strategy pretty good the way I play now, but, open up whole new strategies and ways to play if/when they change it to 4 max. Good idea Stardock I'm all for it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 A
You should let the AI play the YOR they play a much better and challenging game when you do. I had to bum rush them because they almost won an influence war. A human playing the YOR is already overpowering the AI they get too many bonuses and advantages. No wonder the game feels too easy.
Heh it happened to me too in my recent game, but, I didn't lose any planets, but, the other AI races were losing a planet a turn to the YOR. Well I had lotsa money so I bribed all the other races to attack the YOR. I took it's capital the 2nd turn right smack dab in the middle of the purple, but, still they own 3/4ths of the map by influence now. Seems it has to do with that propaganda invasion ability. I've had populations of 4987684.00b after the bat
The AI optimizes every turn on difficulties higher than normal. Where you will just click end turn they will go through every planet and adjust and focus according the the best mathematical production values. The AI also will "borrow" from the bank, in other words buy on loan or lease and pay dividends in the early game to get better production facilities early where as you will probably wait until they are built or spend your 5000cr's and stop there.
There is a limit to the amount of starbases you can build. It's built into the size of the map since no two starbases can be within 3 squares of another. So, you got what you wanted, only not excacly how YOU want it but how the designers INTENDED it to be. Great that it's THEIR game isn't it? You're just lucky you get to even play it.
[The point is the repetitive grind, the fact that you can just 'lock in' to the same researching/building strat game after game after game. Nothing changes. I didn't say, and don't now, that it makes it a bad game. I say it limits it to the same type of gameplay as an RTS, only slower: memorize the best order of doing things, then go kick the crap out of the enemy. It is about rote learning of what the best tactic is, then repeatedly implementing it. T
Because if all the CIV's were balanced then they would all be robots like the YOR to begin with. This is what made Master of Magic great, it wasn't balanced either. Same for the origional Age of Wonders Undead were greatly overpowered. I'm glad they went this route because it makes each race UNIQUE,
I have 30 logistic points and I can load down my fleets with large ships. Plowing over the galaxy taking whatever i please since I have troup transport ships that can move 12 squares a turn. So far, still got a couple of more minaturizations to do.
[ None of this is really a criticism of Stardock per se … they are giving what the strategy public wants. It’s a TBS for the RTS index-finger-workout crowd. It’s not the kind of game I or most other ‘strategy enthusiasts’ I know enjoy. ] You must come from a very small and select group then, because I've been playing turn based strategy games AND chess for 35+ years and this is definitely a game THIS "strategy enthusiasts" enjoys!!! Mainly b
Since the AI suks at building any kind of starbases I don't exploit it by building a web of military starbases. There's more fun and challenge taking them on at their own speed. The only starbases I've ever seen the AI build up are the resource starbases, but, I see 10's of different types of starbases they never add anything to. Just a shell of a starbase and then they go build another one and another one instead of building that one up. I'd be in dee
