The Pirates along with most of the random events occur MAYBE once per year. I played a 12 year game and had 2 events (Once where the Arcean switched to evil, and one where the Yor went good [ too bad THEY WERE BOTH DEAD then]) and that was it. It seems after 1.0x events got severely nerfed *Shrug* I have YET to see any pirates since the betas. And I have played a lot of games. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A

It's been mentioned about a billion times. But still not changed. Especially when you exit a planet across the map and BAM you are taken to the opposite side for some scout that has free turns left.. GRRRR Someone at SD must like this feature

I think he means Name a default save that CTRL-S saved to INSTEAD of QuickSave, for each game. IE: If i load my game 1 and hit CTRL-S it plops it into QuickSave. And if I load game 2 and by habit hit CTRL-S, well game 1's QuickSave gets overwritten by game 2's Yeah I have done this a couple of times. Angers me immensly

Let's say Stardock has 100 employees. And let's say It takes 20 of them to work on the next GalCiv2 update. The other 80 work on the various OTHER products Stardock has. If you apply the current production system to Stardock as a company, you would PAY 20 people to work and complete the next update in a week, while you paid the other 80 to stand around and watch UNTIL the update on GalCiv was done BEFORE working on their ow

Adjust your spending to control waste. You can lower the overall amount you spend. And also adjust how much you spend per class, military, social and research. Micromanagement is one thing. But when excess is being wasted on ONE planet, you change the slider so that WASTE isn't well.. wasted. But th

But there is no way to upgrade only one fleet out of five total, let's say, unless you disband the fleet and do each ship individually. I'm willing to bet that will change in the next couple updates, though. That was in earlier in the game, but for some reason it was removed. I think it had somethi

The AI also loves the buy now, pay later thing. So yeah they buy a lot of ships too. Take a look at the end game stats and look at the computers Total on the Interest Paid Out, or something like that, tab. Sometimes its a huge amount. But also don't forget: 1) Initial Colony makes Manufacturing pts. 2) They use a lot of econ starbases which are *like* adding factories. 3) They adjust the sliders like every t

The amout of TILES a planet can acquire through Terraformig depends on the TYPE. And by that I mean this: Take the Yor. They have a Class 10 and a Class 4 to start with. If your starting planet (Class 10) is GAIAN (IE: looking like a level 26 planet from the MAIN SCREEN [green with purplish tinges] and NOT desert [reddish in color]) you will get MORE tiles from terraforming than one that looks like Earth of an icy pla

Why do SWAT teams and other Military or Police teams TRAIN with blanks in "Mock" combat situations? Theres no chance of them being shot. But hey WOW!! IT IMPROVES THEIR SKILLS. Not as much as spending a year in Iraq on the gbroun but skills are skills. So I can see SOME skill gain from unarmed ships. *Shrug*

What helps a bit when your ships have to travel longer distances is to scroll into a corner of the map so you can't see a ship and then press turn end. This speeds it up a bit. This is what I *ALWAYS* do. Also zooming out so you see the ICONS and not the ships/planets/starbase models helps quite a

Just because you could get some extra benefit from a tile doesn't mean it should dictate what you build always. Well IF the planet HAS a morale building... Then it should GO on the Morlae Bonus Tile... Right? Ok if it didnt have any tech on a planet, and had tech bonus tiles, then yeah b
