Donate? Steady now, your approaching the terminal phase ..... next you'll be having a crazy notion its better to go out once in a while and party through the night. Your only option is to get into a Suicidal game ... Regards Zy

I'll second that. To our Colonial Cousins ;), have a great Fourth, and make sure you do everything we wouldnt do  Regards Zy
Try using "Cheat Mode". Load up using Cheat, save as another name (make sure you have a copy of the original non-cheat game as something other than autosave else its overwritten). Then use "cntrl-M", each time you do that it will add 10,000 bc's, so a dozen repeats or so of that and you should be able to generate enough funds to make as many spies as you need. That, and "cntrl-U" to reveal all the map, together with the detailed Stats page on each race should crack it. <br
Not sure if it could be mass-marketed because people to like buy things that don't involve much effort (Why we occassionally eat out), but again people buy miniatures, models and the like as a hobby. So would this be Game Modeling?
Kind of answered your own question in a way. I think over time games will become far more "moddable" as more and more people get into the background of PCs etc. Those numbers are steadily growing as PCs are now, for all intents and purposes,
Smaller maps favored a quick rush to grab land. Once in a dominant position, it was usually pretty easy to go for anything
Pretty much sums it up. GalCiv doesnt really get into full swing until you hit Medium size maps, the cramped restricted nature of smaller maps means your more working on not losing than anything else in the initial game. Medium and above the tendency is to think more about how your going to win, as the wider nature of the map gives you space to buil
The most important thing that you should be aware of is the proclivity of the game to reset the intelligence of your opponents when using ctrl-n
Used to - they nailed that long ago. If your still finding that with a fully updated product let support know. I hear the thoughts, I also prefer widespread Races on the map, as like you, I hate "colony rush" games, I'm the builder type. However there are as many preferences as people playing the game, to make everyone
"be true to yourself"
Bravo! Its astonishing how so many people are living a live of self delusion and denial - image more than substance, and its soooo obvious who is doing it. Its pointless going down that road .... There was a recent cracking quote from Bill Gates on this kind of issue during a speech to pupils at an American High School, when he gave 11 rules for teens: Rule1: Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule2: The world will expect you to acco
Do you have the relevant techs researched to make something other than a Defender? Regards Zy
The updated version is: 1.96.027, if your showing that now within the game, your good to go. Regards Zy
The real problem I find is that I don't even realize planets of mine are overgrown until they're completely screwed.
Try looking at Civilization Manager. In there is a column "Approval". Its sortable by clicking on the column header, click again if wrong sort order. You end up with a sorted list of ascending approval ratings, the red (rebellious ones) being at the top of the list. From there you click on the planet name and sort out the moaning prolls  <br/
The problem is - its what we are used to. UK is slowly going metric, taking forever and a day, but we are getting there. I lived in Germany for 14 years in the days of my youth, and all is divisible by ten/multiply by ten - its hugely simpler - weather, distance, temperature etc etc all links together logically. If we were to have a clean sheet, and have the choice between the ones below System A Unit of measure based on 1 (inches), 12 (inches in a foot), 3 (feet in a yar
Thank you for this game which will eternally remaiin on my hard drive
As another "oldie" I'll echo that one. And people keep yaking on that PC Gaming is dead. Its not dead, just need to look for quality Vendors, not the Mass Market revenue chasers. PC Gaming goes on at the quality end, where what matters is what the games does - not which bandwagon it belongs to, or how pretty it looks. Mind you I guess GC2 has one hell of a bandwagon of its own - and

Forgive an obvious one .... these things do happen .... when you started the first game after the upgrade, did you check the Intelligence level of the other races in the game SetUp Screen as you went through the first game post upgrade? It sounds as though the AIs in your game are set to the lower(est) Intelligence levels, at those levels the AI says Ga-Ga and dribbles at the mouth but not much else as its intentionally seriously crippled - in the same way as a game set to CalkWalk or
Rules of thumb for happiness: - Dont place Farms on Food bonus tiles - else later as you upgrade the Farm Techs you will burst through the 18/20 Billion population barrier. One Farm per Planet as a general rule is fine - just upgrade as you get the latest Farm Tech. On smaller maps you can better utilise the Food Bonus Tiles, but on (say) large and above, it becomes a living hell trying to keep up with exploding population because you need to go into every planet to sort it - that can
Most digital watches have the option, but you need to go pretty far out of your way to find an actual clock with 24 hour time.

I'm going to be rich, say 280 million people recognize they need a clock
Want a Business Partner ? I'm in  Regards Zy

Definitely play TA from the get go, its by far the better game. They do good bundle deals so you can "catch up" re versions of the game. Once you get all three, you'll get all the updates for all of them, so whatever Campaign you decide to play, it'll be updated with that Version. The Campaigns are not "free standing", they only run within the Version environment that originally created them. Game enhancements/bug fixes are - as such - not "backwards compatible", and only apply to th
I'm sorry. I'm an idiot. You've mentioned your English many times in this and other threads
Dont give it a second thought, its not an issue - in any case you are far from being an idiot ..... Regards Zy
You'll need both DA & TA anyway, TA needs DA to run the game. Having done that, ignore DA, and go straight to TA, its a far better game. In TA each Race gets their own Tech Tree, which in itself changes the way you play if you go the non-Terran route. Its almost like playing a new game as you'll need to devise new tactics and gameplay depending which Race you are. They have done a great job with TA - excellent game. They do bundle deals re DA & TA. Regards Zy
"The Lensman" series by EE 'Doc' Smith - its an enduring Sci-Fi Classic. When I read the first in the series, I couldnt get the others fast enough. Its a phenominal series, a true Sci Fi Classic, and extremely intelligently written, they are not Junk/Trash novels for morons. This link will give an overview [link="http://www.z9m9z.demon.co.uk/doc.htm"]Lensman Series[/link], but just Google "Lensman Series EE Doc Smith", and you'll drown in links.
Well OpenGL runs on MAC, Windows, Linux, Solaris, MOBILE PHONES! You name it and it can run OpenGL. It is not about the OS it is about "shutting" you out if you don't use Windows. Games should be free of those boundaries.
There's more to the life of a developer than access to OpenGL. Its all about access at API level and the functions it provides, together with a host of practical development tools, compilers yaddi yadda, needed to write and package the whole thing.
They lurketh in: C:\Documents and Settings\*your account name*\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\ships and C:\Documents and Settings\*your account name*\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\ShipStyles If you clear out the "ships" directory, you will clear the ships used in the last game, and start with a clean sheet. Also note inside the Shipbuilder the "delete" facility at bottom of the screen Regards Zy
