Excellent ideas! I would also pay for: a) An external ship designer, so I can make ship templates outside of games. I would also fix it so that designs can be imported during the game, but do NOT show up automatically in each game (forcing you to clean out your shipyard constantly). b)Assuming 'a' isn't possible, I would at least fix it so that shipyards are specific to saves, not a general one for all games. c) I would add a hot key for taking screenshots. d)

I don't remember seeing any of these on the forums, and yet I love reading about Civ succession games. Although I lack the time and skill to play one, I think some of you guys should get together and do one.

A war with North Korea would be, quite frankly, a shit idea. Not because they could win, but because of the aftermath. I've been following news about the kidnapped Japanese civilians and the test missiles closely for a while now. I've been reading western news, korean news, korean forums, and watching every documentary about the country that I can find. What I can tell you is, the amount of propaganda and brainwashing in the country is mind boggling. They have completely twist

Thank goodness for that, because I've got Kim Jong Il of the DPRK talking about business opportunities, when he should be talking about self-reliance and imperialists.

Guys, this looks like a really fun feature. This seems like the right time to ask for another relevant feature. Can you please add a shortcut key, that takes a screenshot in-game and saves it to the GalCiv2 directory? This would very much go hand in hand with the epic story generator, and allow people to more easily flesh out their reports if they decide to publish them online. Some people have trouble using Alt-Tab to go to an art package and then back to the game.

I might try your setup V1m, but I'd like to have a go on a standard map too. If you can reach invasion and take planets as quickly as they are colonized, if might be possible to catch up.

I was just wondering if anyone has written a game report, of a game in which they attempt to win without building any colony ships. I would be very interested in seeing how someone fares under those conditions, no matter how suicidal it is. Perhaps its time for a little competition, to see who could get the highest score (or avoid death the longest)? I would do it myself, but truth be told I'm a crap player. I have a very relaxed and sloppy style. I seem to approach it as a sp

The Yor will be happy then, always complaining about carbon based lifeforms... Spot on, though I think I read they are made of minerals and rocks, as opposed to metals. I just had a look to see if I could find it, but I can't. I sure hope that wasn't a dream.

I see people fail to see my point.... including folks from Stardock... I, and most other players, dont care if you designed something on purpose or its an oversight. What I do care about is having a well balanced game thats fun to play. If there are certain features that the vast majority of players regard as bad, I would think that the developer would try and bal

I think the Zrim are meant to be silicon based lifeforms. I do hope they change the name though. They're probably there to show off the new special environments. They must have needed a race to inhabit a crazy world type (volcanic?). PS some of the GC2 races suck (i.e. Korx).

It was a toss-up between special environments and asteroid fields. I only went for special environments because I don't like the idea of civilizations claiming asteroid fields. I wanted to see some impassable terrain, and I guess asteroid fields is the best we can hope for. I'm also surprised custom opponents hasn't done better in the poll. This is another feature I'm very much looking forward to. One feature I would like to see above all others however, is the ability to use new shipy

It depends on my mood whether the names are serious, functional, or comical. I've used things like "Anubis", "Leviathan", "Bahamut", "Tiamat", "SR-Col1", "War Bastard", "Scout1", "NutBuster" etc.

Very nice, although I can't see what's so new about some of those lower screenshots. The planet tile screenshot shows a marketplace on an influence bonus tile, even though there are empty "non-bonus" tiles available. (Even if it doesn't want to build an embassy now, doesn't mean it won't later - might as well keep it free for as long as possible). Perhaps in GC3 you should do away with the tile system altogether, and keep the bonuses "global" (i.e. instead of a 300% manufacturing bonus,

I would agree on the Thalans, but if you read the backstory, the Areans and Torians are better defined, and have interesting roles. The Iconians are not so well described, but I think their relationship with the Yor is worth telling, and I'd like to see more about them. IMO there are worse races than the ones you described - The Korx for one. Perhaps the backstory could be included with the game, in text format? It could be added at the same time as a Galactopedia. Perhaps espionage cou

Yeah, colonization needs to be slowed some more. The shorter range idea is a good one. I still feel I need to rush colony ships at the beginning. An alternate idea is a smaller population at the beginning of the game. Perhaps enough to support 2 colonies, and that's it.
