Laser Squad Nemesis uses semi-real time combat. Both sides submit their orders, and the turn is processed by the server. When you get the results back, you can watch what happens over the next 10 seconds using video style controls. After that, you react and plot new orders for the next 10 seconds, and so on. Free trials are available, though only as Marines.

You're on the right track dude, although with minors I wait and trade techs with them before I kill them. I get all the techs, and they don't get to sell mine on to others. I also get a juicy planet at the end. Here are some other general tips: I don't know if you already do this or not, but on the first turn go straight to the Domestic Screen and set your spending capacity to 100%.<br/

I know you can make your own ships, but is it possible to add your own Jewellery (with hard points)?

Nice ideas. We also need more pieces which snap to place at their centre. Too often if you add a component it sticks out from the hull. What if you want to keep your hull narrow, but extend it? The only way to do that at the moment is with one of the assortment of rails and pylons, but if you want a solid hull, you need to cover that up with other pieces. More triangles = less speed.

I've recently been playing with tech trading on, and I've noticed this as well. I want to play some games with it off to see if it makes a difference. Either way, the devs have said there will be no more patches or updates until after Dark Avatar comes out.

Heh, damn, didn't notice the other page. This turned into an AI and gameplay discussion. I'm not keen on the idea of making ships slower in enemy territory. It seems like an easy fix, but doesn't really suit the game. It's an artificial cap. I also don't like the idea of simultaneous movement. I tried that with Starfleet Battles (tabletop game) and it was a bit confusing and boring predicting when you would get your next move. I think it would be a good idea to limit h

In theory I guess unarmed ships could ram transports and take them down, or fly in front of them in such a way that they have to abort their descent. I don't see a problem with it, as you should have escorts for your transports nearby anyway, and you can always use the same defence on your own planets in an emergency!

I do agree with the OP to an extent. I think the decisions that were made, were made for the best of reasons, but we need something to make Diplomacy more exciting. I often don't use Diplomacy at all. I rarely need their techs and I don't like their ship designs. I don't need influence and I usually conquer the planets that I want. In fact, I probably only use Diplomacy in emergencies to fend off an aggressor. Perhaps if their were more things to trade? Rare one-use ship compon

Hi Thanks for version 3.1. I've noticed so many little improvements already, and I've only played for a couple of hours. The best surprise so far, is that I can now click my ships to check their stats without waking them up! I don't know if you're going to work on a Version 4 before DA comes out, but if you are, there are still one or two things that need looking at. Hopef

I would enjoy these a lot. Maybe not all the time, but now and then they would be great fun. How about this one: Hyperspace Rift - The fabric of the universe is torn apart. Ships, starbases, resources and entire solar systems are moved randomly from one part of the map to the other, leaving empires scattered and mixed up, and ships far from home.

Thanks for another great patch. I can't imagine you have many more patches planned, but if you do I have a request. Depending on how difficult it would be to implement, could save games have their own sub folder, so that ship designs can be stored and kept independant of other games? Player can manually copy ship files to the main directory in order to make them available for all games, or insert a menu option, that saves ship designs into the main folder instead of the sub folders. Cleaning my

I think its a good time for Stardock to be working on multiplayer. There are very few bugs left, and we're about to get an awesome expansion pack. The devs have given the game enough love to create one of the best single player games for a long time. I think we're going to be kept busy by Dark Avatar long enough for the devs to devote some time to multiplayer, and thats fine, BUT... When the next expansion is released, its going to be an SP/MP combo. There have been

it would have lots of other features as well to make sure it appeals to a wide spectrum). All that means is that the players who don't want it, still have to buy it if they want the other features. Please release a non-MP version of the next pack at the same time. K Thx
