@Martimus - This guy is posting on the same thing on a lot of threads - old and new, related or not That is spamming my friend. And sorry you feel that away about me - but hey, that's your right. I see you post a lot too - and I could say the same things, but I won't. We all have things to say - sometimes we are right and sometimes we are wrong. That's the beauty of a public board. Have a great day!

No, DXDiag is part of the MS directX package, i.e. part of your system. Just type in dxdiag at the run line - has nothing to do with the game. As far as SDC downloading betas automatically, not true - there is a check box for it to show betas or not - your choice. SDC is simply a download manager. It is clean - I checked it out with Intrusion detection software, and my firewall reports show it does nothing behind my back i don't want i

Well, let's see what size it is now - looks like it is 1.2 GB or so from your debug file. That means you can add up to ~1.8 GB more - but you don't want to use all that as you want some room left. I'd make it 2 GB. That will leave you ~1.2GB or so free on C. Put 2GB (2000MB) in both fields. BTW, if that is all the space you have left on your hard drive, you may want to think about getting another drive installed - that is getting thin

They are planning to do that in the eventual expansion. Spy units and all. See the developers Journals here on the site.

CariElf has posted a very good troubleshooting post in this thread towards the bottom. You may want to check it out and see if anything appies to you. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=274&AID=111740#872422 Also, you are running Beta4A - save games from earlier builds may not load properly in Beta4 series. See the Journals section for the release notes on Beta4 - (not 4A). Other than that, and your sound drivers,

@redshift If you check the option not to waste auto moves, after you hit turn then when a ship with automoves that has movement points left will stop the autoturn priocess and you will again see the turn button. At this point, if you hit Tab it will center on the ship with moves remaining. You can also go to other ships, that have not auto moved yet - or do anything you want. It kicks you back into regular turn mode again, until you pre

I am experienceing frequent browser crashes now while using the GalCiv2 forums. Running latest version of IE and Java plugins. SmartException emailed to Stardock support.

Having to hunt for a ship to click manually because it has 1 space of automove left is unacceptable. You can always hit the tab key or use the Find button..... As far as changing production of only 25 of 50 ships - well, even the Civ series doesn't do that. The best way to do that is to

@neilo Cool. The debug.err log is overwritten everytime you start the game. If you experience a crash, before restarting you should copy that file to another location and change it's name. You can also download SmartException from Star Dock Central Freebies and run it before starting the game. This will generate a more detailed

Sorry Kirill, you are making no sense. If you leave the races alone and play them as the game gives them to you, they are different. If you mod them to be all the same, that is your, the player's choice. The game designers give you the freedom to do that. Or not. Where's your beef?

@Damiun Here is a very detailed explnation of the page file - http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.php Here is a simplified instruction sheet - you should set the max and min to be the same for performance reasons - depending on your hard drive space I' d use at least 25.GB, 4 GB tops. http://www.avid.com/onlinesupport/supportcontent.asp?productID=97&contentID=6999&browse

You can simply delete any ship files you don't want in the \My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships I always save my base templates in an archived ships folder so that when I start a new game I simply have to delete the old ships folder (after archiving it) and replace it with the folder containing my base designs. This way each game will start fresh. Another caveat is that the ships will also be saved in each saved game file - be careful as this could lead to confusing sh
