LOL Zardoz - typo. Thanks! Meant 2 factoires. Poor proofreading skills, Arthritis and fat fingers suck. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ) I won't change the original post so Zardoz's makes sense! Plus it is funny!

I have to throw in with the No groups here. I'm a strategy guy through and through. That said, I may, and I stress may, be in favor of more Tactical choices pre-combat, similar to the Planetary invasion choices. I would also be in favor of multi-sqaure Combined fleet combat, in the way that you could attack the enemy from two different squares at the same time; thios would give you more Tactical options. But I would only want

@Giroux I assume he downloaded the latest beta patch. His issue is a common one with that install, it simply needs a reboot, my semi-educated guess is to get the fonts registered with the OS for some reason.

Repeating Marcathonas' statement, The Ai will NOT sell you military techs if you are the Strongest empire. Play at a higher difficulty and with a race that doesn't have good economic abilities. Turn TT off if you don't like it.

What version are you playing? Earlier builds did have a similair issue I beleive. Check the Change logs in the Journals section here on the site for info. Did you have your industrial slider turned up enough for the available factories on that world?

Personally I do find the different AI's acting differently. Some of the characterictics don't play well on different size maps - the Drath wil pay off other races to go to war - but if their are only a few races you may not notice this. The Torians will expand like rabbits on viagra on a scatterd, large map with lots of planets. They are very aggresive and snotty when they do this - you really have to work hard at getting diplo techs if y

The game uses files in TWO paths. 1) The main path is the one where it is installed. ex e:\stardock\galciv2 2) User specific files such as custom ships, prefs.ini, etc. are kept in the \My Documents\My Games\Galciv2 folder. Both paths must be present. Copy the stuff in the 2cd path above into the My Documents path on your second pc and you should be fine. You can also mirror it on your external harddrive, or copy it to it after each game, then cop

@deaddecoy That happened to me - it was because a Terran nutjob (my race) assasinated the AI's leader. I immediately bought peace to prevent what happened to you.

@CariElf, I second BV's motion. Great list btw! It is useful for more than troubleshooting GC2 - it can be used to troubleshoot a lot of things!

I had a huge pirate fleet appear mid game at the level below tough. The problem was, it just stayed in one square and never moved. Until I built and massed several fleets of ships that could handle it - when one got within sensor range a few of the pirate ships moved towards it - but since they only had 3 range sensors they could not see my other fleets which were about 6 squares away. (I had EoU). The next turn I massacred them.

Loks like you are running at a resolution size larger than your monitor can handle. The game requires 1024 x 768 minimum resolution and your monitor's max size is 640 X 480. Why are you using the Generic televison monitor drivers anyway - that is a laptop....???? You could try to run in Windows modeon your laptop screen.

I use small planets under 6 that are in two planet systems as Constructor factories at times. 1 Starport, and 2- 3 Factories. I use them to just crank out cheap constructors every 4-6 turns. Set the priority to Military in the Planetary screen and just forget about it. The pop never gets high enough to worry about morale.

The Altarians. They are so dam smug. And two faced. Always trying to play the relationship card when I am the Terrans. Cousins my butt....well, I fix them, and treat them like my in-laws....hehhehheh.

Great Idea ! I would also like to see more negative anomalies, especially for the ones that you could discover later in the game... Perhaps, (stealing shanmelessly from the Civ goody huts), once in a while you discover a Pirate Base, and a Skull n XBones fleet will appear. Or you open a wormhole to the Scatttering and suddenly the galaxy is flooded by Honered Matre ships or something. (like the tiny fighters that app
