I thought the Bush Administration made up its mind months ago to go forward on Iraq, going to the UN was an afterthought and that any outcome there wouldn't make much difference. But I don't recall even the Administration claiming that Iraq provided funding for Sept 11 or Bin Laden. My understanding is that SDCentral is compatible with W2K, XP and W98x. Install it (or CM) and the other stardock apps downloaded through it onto your hardrive. They have default locations to go to when they install. It'll set up the OD directory in "Programs" and all the apps like WB, etc will have their own folders in the OD directory. (You can then back them up to a fresh clean CD if you wish for backup purposes only.) Frankly, I'm not sure how you're using the CD you keep

The newsgroups are accessible to anyone. I cruised the newsgroups long before I became a Stardock customer. It's all done through your newsreader (presumably OE). So OD or CM should not have anything to do with that. I can't imagine how they would. When your subscription runs out, if you don't renew, you keep everything you already have. The apps (assuming you get them to work) will still function. All it means is that with an expired subscription to OD you won't be able to get new upgr

I put the link to the OD zapper in my previous post. Why reinstall from the CD when you've had problems with that in the past? All you have to do is download the CM from the site. They don't have access to your hard drive when you do that. You just download the file and install it to your drive. That's just what you're doing when you download programs through the CM. Do you mean accessing the newsgroups in Outlook Express? Just using the link to them on Stardock should take you directly to the group and then you can subscribe in OE. You don't have to be a customer or anything to access them. Otherwise you should be able to set up an account in OE for news.stardock.com and then see the newsgroups on the server.

In CM user info is it showing your serial number or something else? What happens when you click on the "Update Configuration" button? It has your info and then changes to the expired license/user info? Other than waiting for a response from Stardock, I might be inclined to uninstall all OD stuff on the PC (backing up skins first so you don't lose those). That's very bizarre snd certainly not something I've ever experienced with OD on an old W98 machine and a new XP PC so something's out of whack. The programs themselves normally have worked ok for me even on old PC's although I've some people have had problems with the CM. Although nothing like someone else's registration showing up with a legit copy. At least, I haven't heard of that before. To clarify, you're having a problem with CM, WindowBlinds and Winstyles too? Mary Jo, my DX problem happened after installing Toon XP. And the repair worked for me, FWIW. It just reinstalls DX on top of itself. What I did do is when it asked if you want to keep the newer versions of DX files, I said no. Thus restoring DX to the original installed version. After that DX worked and so did the Toon XP DX theme. That seemed counter intuitive to me, but it worked. But as I said it was the last formal release version of DX from last fall. Dunno about the later beta v

I had the same error message and finally decided to uninstall DX. But when I went to do that I noticed it had a repair option. So I used that and restored all original files for that version of DX (the last nonbeta release) since evidently there were newer versions in there. To my surprise it worked. Go figure. Don't know that it would be any help to anyone else but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
