Aqua just said he modified another's skin as many here do for personal use. It's perfectly fine to modify someone else's skin for one's own personal use. (Of course it's not OK to distribute it without the author's permission.) So what "wrong arena" is there? Am I missing something? (not surprised if I did, lol)

One of those little yellow Peeps. (You know, those candies? They're supposed to be marshmellow but they don't taste like marshmellow to me. They are rather creepy, really. I think the Peeps did away with Billy Joe, too. They are very sneaky.)
Thanks da_zman20. I guess I'll email Stardock support. Now it appears I can't run DX at all, even trying another theme. Oh well...
Yes you would still be a citizen since those rankings (as I understand it) could only be changed by the Admins here based on your participation in the community, helping others, submitting work, etc. See here for that info: https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=about#rank You can go into your account settings and delete the citizen title if you don't want to use that. What should change with a purchase of an SD product or WC subscription is your user level. See here: h
I just purchased and installed Toon XP. (A readme somewhere would have been nice on how to handle the dxpact and wall zip, btw imo. Perhaps it should be obvious, but for a purchased product some instructions would be nice.) I'm also having the DX crash. A message that msvcr70.dll was not found, a debug message of an object initializing error code point 003 DesktopX (gage) and a message that there is a parsing error. This is on a new XP box with latest releast of DX (not alpha or beta).
Not a useless post. Now I know that the skin is being resubmitted. I was going to download it when I realized it had disappeared. Glad to know it's coming back. Thanks Gabriel. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/
Aquarium by Alexandrie? An oldie but goodie. There be swimming fishies there.
Yeah, someone should do an Olive OS skin. Green cocktail olive stuffed with pimento for the logo instead of the friggin apple with a bite out of it. Or a martini glass with a green olive on a toothpick. And for the busy cursor, perhaps a cocktail shaker in action. OK, it's a Friday at the end of a looong week. Though, if I could create skins, I'd probably do something like that just for the heck o
Incredible! Both Fuzzy and WOM here in one day! Rest up and take care of yourself. But it is good to "see" ya.
Wow! Great news!

That's changing the boot screen, isn't it? That's trickier I think. Someone posted a link here I think before, perhaps you might find something at this site to help with that? http://www.virtualplastic.net/#
Yes, Static, but as I recall the pop up here that Werewolf (I think it was) saw was a test and it was still related to WC/SD products, not an unrelated site. FWIW I don' see any popup now, even with Proxomitron disabled and logged out.
I don't know about gamespot, but some outfits have developed stuff that generates their popups when you visit other sites. It does seem unlikely that this site would advertise gamespot. You might try downloading and running either Adaware or SpyBot Search and Destroy, both antispyware apps. They're free and many people use both just in case. A search on google should provide their web sites for download.
Well, I know that with WebWasher and Proxomitron, after disabling them sometimes even refreshing the page alone won't work to clear the previous filtering. Hence my skill at on demand cache clearing and browser closing. Anyway, hope it helps although the poor fellow already went through uninstalling and reinstalling a Norton product.
Thanks for the update, Boxxi. It sounds good. Yay for Fuzzy!
Wonder if he cleared the browser's cache/TIF after he disabled Norton's pop up blocker. (I know that's basic, but some people retain the cache/TIF and don't clear it.) Dunno if that's a factor with NIS, but I know with other pop up blockers, disabling the the blocker, clearing the cache. and just to be sure closing the browser before trying again, usually works if there is a previous restriction on legit pop up windows.
What OS are you using? Is that the enhanced WB (the pay version)? I think the shareware version cannot be set to run on startup. In W98 there's a check box in the desktop properties to have WB run on start up. Dunno what the problem(s) might be without more info on your set up. Also, what video card do you have, since sometimes that can make a difference.
erm....I thought it was a plum hybrid, not an apple, propagated by migrating African swallows... oh that's right, African swallows are nonmigratory...never mind.
werewolf must be in an alternative universe of DX themes. Cool.
Nope it's gone. Dang. I was just looking at it this morning, too. Didn't download it since I'm presently DX "challenged." I haven't really played with DX.
Yes, it is good news!
Yes, it's rather cool, isn't it? I found WB a fantastic addition to my old W98 box, but XP (and a new PC in my case) really shows the skins at their best.
The Universe Metal suite is a Pixstudio product. Portions of the suite have been available for free. But the WindowBlinds and some other components if I recall were available for purchase only as a suite. Perhaps it is being updated for the most recent version of WB since I can't presently find it on the Pixstudio site: http://www.pixtudio.com/ If you have questions about its availability you could email the authors at the Pixstudio site or perhaps contact Treetog or Alexandrie from their email
Thank you for the updates, Starone. My best wishes to you both and that the news only gets better and better.
