Well, correction, I just checked and it's links to the winstyles library? (I thought it worked like the "featured skins" library.) Sorry.

Click on the words "daily shot" above the pic and that should take you to the library of previously featured themes, I think.
Very best wishes to Fuzzy and a speedy recovery.
Weaksid: there's a name in the lower right hand corner of the wall. Rolf Hawkins? It looks like it would take quite a bit of work and time even to my uneducated eyes.
Excerpted from article on abcnews.com: Feb. 13 — A key piece of the information leading to recent terror alerts was fabricated, according to two senior law enforcement officials in Washington and New York. The officials said that a claim made by a captured al Qaeda member that Washington, New York or Florida would be hit by a "dirty bomb" sometime this week had proven to be a product of his imagination. The informant described a detailed plan that an al Qaeda cell op
"Frogboy, come on you aren't going to make us wait until fall right? You are just pulling all our legs...I think following the MS example on OS support is more than reasonable." I suspect FB already made his decision and framed the question in such a manner so that the public response would be obvious. The only question is why did Stardock announce that WB4 would include 9x and w2k support when FB previously made it clear that he did not want to continue support for "outdated" OS's? An
Ah, duct tape is an all purpose fixer upper so it's always good to have on hand. But as for sealing up one's house with plastic sheeting, might as well tell people to build bomb shelters in their back yards again for all the good it'll do if there was something really serious going on. All one has to do is consider the containment measures used by the CDC in their labs and then figure if plastic s
ooooh, they can tell what windowblind I use? Next it'll be what I et for breakfast! Oh the humanity! WOM, I know for web based stuff, the browser gives up the user agent which provides the OS, browser used, and sometimes the ISP is coded there too. That can be changed by a minor registry hack for those who don't want to give out that info. But then some websites won't work with goofy user agents tha
ick missed some edits. oh well.
Oh if the stats are based on the poll as WOM suggests, how is it determined that those answering the poll are actual OD users? WC users don't necessarily translate to OD users or even registered stardock app users. So does this site track users and not only ID's who answered the poll (and what their vote was?) but also correlates that to an SD registration? WC users to SD users and thus individually keeping track of users' activities here and poll votes? Just wondering.
Frogboy: Where do those stats come from? How are OD users OS's ID'd? I know about the user agent which websites can pick up via the browser. (And the user agent can be faked for those who like that sort of thing.) So I'm wondering what mechanism is used by SD to determine the OS of an OD user. Is it the user agent or am I missing something else? WB4 I believe has already been announced to include support for W9x/2k. (Which surprised me given SD's previously expressed negati
I think that's called Watercolor. Hope that helps.
Well, W2K's lifecycle has a way to go still. Is the feeling at Stardock is that there aren't that many W2K users out there and those really into skinning would upgrade to XP?
ooh, thanks for the link!
'Blessed are the cheesemakers.'
Rats on a stick! Get 'em while they're hot!
I use it on my Win 98 box to change the toolbar icons and then use the WindowBlind skin to skin IE. I haven't tried it on XP. My understanding is that the program will be changed somewhat in the future (read it in the Stardock webblinds newsgroup). The last I looked, I don't think the shareware version is even available anymore.
Also, if I may, reading Jafo's posts more closely, "It is not an admin's role to endure disdain on one hand and demand someone NOT leave on the other. Their choice....free to leave." "Just to clarify, in case anyone is ass-uming...I did not exile anyone." And, "if it is the decision of someone to leave, then so be it." A resonable conclusion would then be that the person in question chose to be an expatriot (ie, "exiled").
Dunno what the deal is, but *if* you used (or appeared to use?) actual components of another's work without the author's permission that would be a reason for deletion. Or it could be a misunderstanding? Did you receive an email regarding the deletion? Did you email the site admins to ask the reason for the deletion? Based on what I've seen the admins here do not appear to delete posted skins/themes without sufficient cause. Anyway, the reason for deletion can only effectively be resol
e-tin: But what's "unusable" for you may be quite useable for someone else. Also, I think WB4 now in beta has the ability to change the font which may remedy some issues on that point. Some people like dark skins, others find them more difficult to use visionwise. Others prefer light skins or the brighter colors. Still, there are a good number of skins that I find both pleasing and useable, even with my aging eyes. But YMMV. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID
BabyPooh: Why buy the "full" version when my understanding is that the upgrade version is the full version, it just requires that at some point during the install you just insert the win2k (or other previous upgradable to XP MS OS) disc? You can still do a clean install too with the upgrade version. A problem would be if you don't have the Win2k disc to use during a clean install. Don't know about an OEM install, though, if that's what your Win2K is. But if there's not just a recovery
Sorry, paxx. The decryptions aren't particularly exciting...Air Force, Air National Guard, National Guard.
The Rated PG: no offense intended, but the AF guys I've known in the past, pilots, academy, that sort of thing, didn't quite regard those who went into the ANG on the same level. They made the distinction. And now those many of those in the reserves and NG are on active duty. Whenever there's something going on in the world a guy in the reserves I know at work disappears. He's involved in communications which I suspect involves intelligence matters. I don't ask, he doesn't tell. <img
Wombat: just a factoid: Bush lost the popular vote. The Electoral College, which ultimately elects the president, does so on the number of states won and the votes assigned them in the electoral college. So the win in Florida gave Bush the win in the Electoral College although he lost the popular vote. A curiosity of the US electoral process. The Rated PG: FWIW Bush was in the Air National Guard. There was some controversy about his record while in the Air National Guard, but that can
I understand there is no cap for users who have reached the apprentice level. But it's not automatic when someone submits a few skins. See here: https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=about Apprentice A citizen user who has submitted skins can be nominated to be promoted to an Apprentice. To become an apprentice one needs to be contributing to the skinning community in some way. WinCustomize is not the skinning community, helping other websites in the skinning community
