The reason we aren’t using Steam is that, as good as Steam is, and it is good, we don’t want it to be the only option. Competition is good for not just consumers but good for us (Steam and Impulse). Doesn’t mean I’m not going to use Impulse to buy games when there’s something on it I want that isn’t on Impulse or use it for community. I just don’t want Steam to be my only option. So with Impulse, we&rsqu
I think the ability to fix/buy destoryed towers would be a nice addition.
BTW, this is a bad idea. Part of the pacing of this game is that it escalates and the game will end . A big part of that is, if you let towers fall -- there is no getting them back. So the goal is to defend your towers. Of course as the games moves on, towers become easier and easier to destory, again this help
Much like RTS games... The greater the disparity in skill level/coordination in teams the more likely that a comeback won't happen. For example: Lets say player skill is rated 1-10, with 10 being god like and 1 being noob . Game #1 Team A: Player Skill = 10 Team B: Player Skill = 1 No matter what team B does, the chances of a comeback are pretty much imposs

Not only would it help new players, it could quite possibly cut down on the two questions above. If I'm able to see that the UB has Mageslayer + 2 other gauntlets, etc,
To be fair... I never even try to kill Sedna. I count it as a major victory if I push her out of a lane. I don't think she is overpowered.
Sedna's pounce needs to be nerfed. it does way to much DAM + a stun at level 1. Oak - 200 dam + interupt at level 1 Sedna - 400dam + stun at level 1 Rook - 200 dam + stun at level 1 (bolling ball) lord - 200 dam and heals him for 200 dam at level 1. Any one else see the problem with her 1 ability almost insta killing people at level 1?? sedna's pounce at max level hits harder then flames fire ball a

Its great to be a fanboy buyt when there has been the same problem that is still there from launch after 7 weeks that is not a good thing. Did i say i want a r
What logs/information do you need want? Want my dxdiag file? What ever you need I'll send you.
Okay so I've played a bit over this weekend. Because it seems most of the work on connectivity improvements is being done for custom games, I've broken down and been just playing them. Here are my findings: Game 1: Played and finished a 3v3. Game 2: Crash Hard lock, had to turn off the power supply before I could restart my computer. Was stuck on a Demigod screen, could not alt tab. Game 3: Was okay and playing fine. In the connection window p
Karma, totally needed but yeah very hard to get a system that can't be abused. Maybe start looking at Ebay and it's rating system. Baiscly find another system that totally works and copy it or make it better. All the new information displayed sounds cool (connection, skill, etc) looking foward to it. More robust friends list (easy adding, inviting people from your friends list to games, having a list of people you've recently played against so you can easly a
Woot niceone Stardock! Really impressive work! I'm looking forward to playing a bunch this weekend as I'll finally have the time to do so. -Jara
Quoting DalzK, reply 9What you guys (Warskull and Tiny) dont realise is that Stardock have been working their ass off on an absolute 24/7 hour bases, and they are probably very stressed atm. Calling Demigod a "defective product". The fact they are giving us a 50% off coupon for all this trouble should make you very grateful, not make you flame towards them. However I still think the decision was very harsh and you guys you should
Yeah some sort of system that ejects people if they can't connect after X amount of time seems like it would help. The situation you outline above has happened to me multiple times and then it usually ends with the search stopping and me getting an error message. If I've pushed the button to play Pantheon, that's what it should do. It should not stop until I get into a game successfully or the search takes too long (n time) at which point it should come back with a prompt, "Havi
I still enjoy reading these and I think the person you quoted is 100% wrong. Customers want transparency and open communication especially when problems arise. I personally really enjoy all the post in the Demigod Journals. -Jara
BTW I'll totally admit, Steam when it was first born was a mess. It had tons of issues and not even close to the features it has today. It was far far from perfect. It's only after years did it improve to what it is today. While I like Steam, I don't want it to be a monopoly and for that I'm happy Impluse is around. Having competition will only force both products to improve (Steam is still far from perfect). Some of the friends features that <a id="ctl
So I gotta ask: Is this intended?
Yes. As you you explained doing this tactic not only costs large amounts of gold (20K is a ton) but it also requires Erebus to sacrifice a huge amount of DPS. He can't stop teleports or potion use. He can't move. He's sacrificing everything so that he can push for his team , to keep momentum up for the creeps.
Did all these reviewers also give TeamFortress 2 poor scores? It has no single-player at all, and released with a similar number of maps and classes.
I think it's mostly just a state of mind. If you look at the games that Demigod most closely resembles (RTS games or Diablo style games), they all have a fairly robust single player component. So when many gamers and reviewers sit down with demigod they've been trained tha
I have to say I agree with Ke5trel 95% Thanks for such a nice write up my friend! It's why I've voicing my displeasure for the concept of scheduled games, because to me it looks like they're trying to reinvent the wheel and come up with some new match making abilities when we don't have what other modern RTS (DoW2, etc) a
quoting post One of our frustrations (and this is one of the reasons I’m not a fan of MP games in the first place) is how inconsiderate some people are. We spent a lot of time trying to figure out why people were getting “disconnected” right when a game starts. Well, it turns out, from looking at the logs, is that some people, having only 2 on 2 or 3 vs. 3 where an AI player had to be substituted to fill
Warcraft 3 - the third in the franchise with millions of users has no problem because it has such a huge population. It has nothing to do with tech and everything to do with user base.
Demigod has multiple issues: Skirmish and Pantheon games only allow you to enter solo, this is not conducive to playing with friends. So in effect this lowers the number of people who play them and adds to the problem. <
Right now, Demigod has the luxury of being one of the few modern RTS games that is so well suited to playing online.
I'm I to assume you're talking purely about game play and how team oriented demigod is and not about the actual match making and online lobby/interface. If it's just game play then I'd agree with you. Because if it's beyond that I'd have to disagree as the online match making and functionality is sorely lacking. Jus
If I get matched with AI, personally I'm okay with it as I'm up for a challenge BUT I'd much rather be matched with all human opponents. If after searching X amount of time, say 5+ mins and there are not enough people, fine throw some AI in. I'd be more tolerant of AI bots on my team or fighting against them if the AI was actually competent . Getting put in a 2v2 when you want to play 3v3 or bigger is also annoying. <li
The only imbalanced item I think is swift anklet. If you have speed chars like beast or sedna as oponent there's no running away. And running away is a huge factor of "tactic". The only thing you can do with DGs that have stacked speed is stand and fight till someone dies. That takes away the fun imo. But then again, I'm not pro maybe I'll learn it someday to counter it or the bug with gaining favor points will be fixed and I can get a swift
Perhaps all favor items could start out weaker and gain bonuses as your war rank goes up? Example: Swift Anklet = 10% ms bonus + 1% per war rank This mitigates the early game problem as well as giving more flexibility to favor item power (some could be better early game and some could have big bonuses unlock late game) This could also fix the weakness in many favor items
- Some type of reward for Buying Citadel Upgrades: Most games I have played nobody wants to be the guy buying the necessary Citadel upgrades (Priests, Regenerating building health, etc.) This is because the investment required is too great and does not personally benefit your Demigod the way saving up for that super artifact or item would be. There's already such a high demand on your gold (Generals in particular) that it's hard to justify being
