By doing the demo after release the customers that pre-ordered or bought at retail get the best experience. Those folks that aren't sure will get teh demo later. They get the benefit of the previous customer feedback and then get the demo. Without a pre-release or on release demo . . a few early sales may be lost . . but not having a demo does not make th

I'd suggest checking out EVE Online (seeing how/what they have done), I just used there in-game voice chat for the first time and was amazed at the clarity. Steams voice chat leaves little to be desired (bad voice quality). So I hope you guys do better.

To me DotA is an "okay mod" one that saved WAR3 from failure. Your subjective opinion has no bearing on whether or not Warcraft 3 was an objectively good title. To somehow claim that WAR3 would have failed were it not for DoTA is an outlandish and terrible inaccurate claim with no basis in fact. Warcraft 3 was

People who loved Space Empires did not necessarly love Galactic Civilizations or vice versa. Same will be true of Demigod vs. Dota.
I have to agree. I'd rather have 8 good maps, than 20-30 mediocre maps. I think board games and DotA are proof that complexity and depth are not derived soly from the map/game board. (In the case from Demigod, I comes from the depth of the skill trees, the gear and of course play skill (micro))

If you haven't received it by this evening, drop a note to with the email address you used to purchase it and we'll take care of you.
Thanks for the update Istari! I know you guys are busy and I bet things are pretty hetic around the office right now. Keep up the good work! :-)

Off the top of my head I'd say make sure you have the latest video card driver.

I've put 5 minutes into it, and am on the forums begging for a tutorial. Sins of a Solar Empire and Galactic Civilizations 2 were equally unfriendly to newcomers, and I would recommend them in the _strongest_ possible terms. So there you go...[/quot
Lol. Sounds like the only game you want is DotA v2.0. If you want stats for so many things you can look them up in lua files easily btw
Not true, he does have a little "I wish X things were more like DotA" but really not that much. Many of his complants about Generals, thier units and how you control them; I agree with. Demigod mentions being "like a RTS" but when you play a General, it does not hav
I agree with you for skirmish mode. BUT you can do arrange team in custom games and custom games are ranked as well.
Yup, I'd like this as well. Just form your team up and search for opponnets (not have to even see server/game lists, etc).
Quoting Peace Phoenix, reply 9 I don't think that Gamestop and Stardock are partners. As they are both selling Demigod, they are competitors. lol are you kiding me with this? Stardock affiliates with resellers to do same what stardock does, sell the game. Gamestop gets their share of money for every piece sold(much much less then stardock). Gosh i cant believe i am talking about the most basic things of selling of almost any
First of all, i am not taking patronization stance for stardock here but being in marketing myself for many years i will just share my views why i think some things here went wrong, really wrong. First of all, kudos to all beta testers, they did fabulous work for the game i am sure and deserve respect and reward, great. Second, kudos to all people who preordered the game they should get something as well, wait they dont get anything at
Well, as the title of the post suggests I have just very recently started looking at the game. I've been looking for a good game to start playing and since the game is coming out in under 4 days, I thought I would look at this game more closely. Well anyways, I thought I would ask a couple of questions. First of all, I'm a hardcore gamer. When I play a game, I really need to get into it. In particular, I'm an RTS/MMORPG gamer, so do you think this game

Sounds like those stores are all breaking street date. It's not uncommon for stores to get the product prior to the stree date. This allows them to start selling day 1 without having to wait for a shipment to arrive. BUT... they're suppose to put the product in the back and NOT SELL it. Often times, if some breakes stree date, they as a company get fined $$$ and it opens the flood gates for everyone to be able to get it sooner... Will see i

yeah IMO it's sort of bad that impulse is fashing and saying "hey, you need to update Demigod" and then when you do, you can't and it wants registration information. It really should not be flashing till you actually can upgrade it, but I'm sure those kinks will get worked out soon (or next time). -Jara
I suspect it's a big issue: Art, Animation, Effects, Balance. It's much easier to create fewer demigods... The reality is time = money. To get the art, animaiton, effects and balance done = Time. If it does well, I'm sure more Demigods will be added. Like the poster above, I'm not that worried about multiple characters. In diablo did it bother you that someone else was playing the sorceress as well as you? It never bothered me... (Gran
