So I am exploring a large map in the new beta and around turn 15 I run into a rather large road system that could not have possibly been built in 15 turns. I know I stopped playing while waiting for this beta, but I don't remember there being any roads already on any of the maps when you start a game. So am I that far out of the loop or is this something new? By the way, it adds to the flavor of the game by having such things, and I do think it is pretty cool.
+ Fixed a divide by zero error in spell damage.
"Sire, while exploring the lost tombs of the ancient Exalthian Empire, we came across a spell that would do damage of 'unimaginable' proportions. In fact, it seems that this spell was certainly responsible for the fall of that noble Empire. We managed to recover a partial record of the only time this spell seem to be cast. Here is what it says:" (from a scr

Playing on a really big map though. Still, got over an hour with about 2/3 of the map explored before this manifested. And yes, Windows 7 x64 with an ATI 5870. Zip File

Wow, wish I lived in a country where I could go down to my local retail outlet, purchase a PC game, and return it a week later for a full refund because I "didn't like it". I beat most games in under a week so this would be ideal for me. Although I have no idea how long those retailers (and game developers) could stay operational with such a business model, it would save me vast amounts of money and allow me to perpetually play video games for free! If I needed longer than a week th

Hmmm, I can see that I am going to wear out the F5 key in Impulse on Sunday. As someone who has played since Beta 1 and has (mostly) recovered from the dain bramage caused by Beta 2.....good job guys. The new improvements all look incredible. Even from Beta 4 the changes look awesome. To know that this is only the start, to know that this game only improves from here, to be happy :D Great job, keep up the good work!
I like how Frogboy never actually said "This game has LAN Support", and everyone is jumping on him as if he did.
Except it's not nitpicking. The game doesn't have LAN support. Saying that it does is simply wrong. It's also interesting to note that when pressed, he started going to the piracy angle: ... This is where it gets ugly. People are concerned that they can't play on a LAN without Internet, and he throws out the piracy card.
Your definition of LAN support is different. Nowhere does

Wow...you guys really don't think things through, do you? Frogboy left the thread b/c ya'll were really starting to upset him over the whole lan nitpicky thing, and you do realize that he is the one that decides how many of his company's resources go into multiplayer, if any. I am not a software company CEO, nor do i play one on tv, but if I saw these posts and I was in charge, you'd see multiplayer support sometime in 2012, if ev

I am not an AI programmer, nor do I play one on tv...but I wouldn't think it would be impossible for the AI to initially have different strategies be the same weight and then as it wins and loses games to modify those weights and write them to an xml file. Not the core xml file for the AI, but similar to a modded file. Basically as it wins and loses it mods itself toward successful strategies and away from less sucessful strategies. Then, when players sign on to the Reactor they have the opti
EDIT: Will we be able to recruit giant man eating chickens?
Sure, once they are modded in. ;) On another note this game now looks like its going to be about 9000 gigajoys worth of fun. Unlike the betas, which were strictly nonfun, and measured in kilajoys :P

Wow, that UI looks like it *might* not cause dain bramage from repeated use. [e digicons]o_O[/e] It is definitely looking a lot better than the previous ones, that's for sure. Good job guys. I do hope that this helps quiet those doomsayers crying about the game not being finished yet.
