Thanks. I've never seen that.

Not sure if anyone has posted on this yet. When you want to upgrade a design, like just adding different engines or weapons, the ship designer in DA resets everything to just the hull. In DL it would keep all the equipment on the previous build and let you just take off what you wanted to change. Is this designed to stay this way in DA? If so, I don't like it as it adds a lot of extra work whenever you want to update a design.
Here you go...Altmeta (I got your back Mumble!) (I hope the link transferred!) For those who haven't checked out the altmeta site, I highly recommend it. Just looking over some of the extra details made me look forward to playing DA in the metaverse. It's even interesting to see your own stats the way they're broken down there. <br
I'm totally behind what's been discussed so far. The idea of representation to work out a better scoring system sounds especially appealing. One reason I don't play metaverse games more than I do is that I hate being almost forced to go for a military victory, especially as I often tend to go for influence or diplomacy. I was tremendously shocked the first time I scored an influence victory in a metaverse game and scored a whopping 4000! It would have been very simple for me to go ahead and
They're picking on your spelling. I honestly don't remember weather being an issue! Good thing you pointed that out Evil, I would have never picked up on it. Especially since it was a typo. C-l-i-m-a-c-t-i-c. See I can spell. Sorry, Quixen, just a joke!
1 droid + 1 man + 1 X-Wing + 1 torpedo = 1 climatic ending to the movie. I honestly don't remember weather being an issue!
Yes, that does get you off the hook for grammar. I'd hate to have to post to a forum in German or French, much less in languages I don't know at all! 1. Upgrading being cheaper only makes sense for ships in orbit, IMO. Otherwise, I'd think you'd have to fly the parts out to the ship, so it should be pretty expensive. 2. Agreed. 3. No ships fire from the grave. Each ship gets a chance per turn. Just because your side seems to fire first, doesn't mean it does. It
Sorry, I just saw the official 1.4x thread. Could you move this there?
First bug (very minor): in the diplomacy screen, when you pull up another race's cash to trade with you, it starts at 10BC, though pushing the up or down button gets to 110 and 90 respectively. Second, here's my debug file for a CTD from upgrading a ship. It happened just after I hit the SAVE button. Debug Message: Version v1.4x last updated on: Mon Oct 23 17:43:56 2006 Debug Message: GalCiv2 is activated. Debug Message: Checking DX Version. Debug Message:
To place things on par I would say MoO = 9, MoO2 = 9.5, MoO3 = 4, CIV4 = 9.9, Rome Total War = 9.9 and GalCiv2? somewhere around a 7. Not great, not horrible...but just "ok". Can't speak for MoOs or Civ4, but RTW's AI, at least at the level of tactical combat, really sucks. I love the game except for that issue, so how you can give i
Here's an excerpt from a recent post by Novaburst, called something like Impressions of B2: "the new (?) mega event that spawns pirates all over the galaxy happened in all four, and seems to have taken the place instead of the Plague event in terms of, the frequency of the event. It happened in all four games, and it's a serious blow to the galaxy. Even the AI takes a serious dip in military ability as their ships are blown to pieces, and their Starbases destroyed one by one. Though, in
This might really be something more akin to a privateer, which is a privately owned warship sanctioned by a government to prey upon enemy ships. These have the possibility of deniability. I think this would be a cool feature to add to the game, you could sponsor “privateers” to harass a potential enemy but not be required to declare all out war because they’re private citi
Actually, military might should be a partial deterrent to pirates but not totally because they use hit and run tactics. What’s not credible would be for them to have straight up battles with your top line fleets. They should do what pirates do best which is attack freighters and unprotected starbases. During the War of 1812, IIRC, pirates we
I'm pretty sure they are adjusted somewhat. However, even if I'm right about that, the adjustments don't make as much of a difference as they probably should. I agree with you that the adjustments should be considerably larger. I too play on medium now, though I started on the largest maps. I've read that the AI is optimal on medium. Also, time constraints make medium games about as big as I want them. Yes, it would be nice to have to deal with issues like range, speed, sensors as
does anybody ever read this stuff? or should i stop this? You're making very good points. However, the English in your OP is so horrendous, it's not at all easy to read.
Now Dunkin Donuts has one that's about as bad as the stupid family-KARATE one. The title I'd give it will tell you all you need to know if you've seen it: "Alarm Clock Catastrophe"
In DA, I've also got Dread Lords as major race in sandbox mode. They haven't contacted me yet, but I just think it's weird they're in sandbox mode, without an event, because I didn't see them as an option for opponents.
Wow, I had forgotten about those. It would be interesting to see what people could do with each one.
Wheel, what do you mean by sandbox scenarios? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm now intrigued.
Yes, Death Adder, I know. I have been playing SR2 in wait of DA. So, here is my contribution: a Stardock haiku. Dark Avatar's eve nebulae anticipate morale a problem?
Thanks for that translation, Mistralok. Maybe we should say it's Latinate, because, yes, there are quite a few liberties. I can't wait to listen closely when I can get back to GC2!
The Latin isn't very good Latin, if the below transcription is correct (which I've taken from another post -- thanks for the link, Mistralok). I'm a Latin expert of sorts, so I'll correct it to some degree. My contribution will be in all caps. Please, I mean no disrespect to those who've gone before me -- your contribution has been helpful! Though I must admit that I hadn't heard any Latin in the song, but I'll be listening to whether I can hear it next time. Qui-he mah-leh-swa
ShuShu, thanks for clarifying. It IS a bit freaky without the context! I'll try to get back into GC2 this weekend. SR2 has been taking up all my gaming time recently. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it. And I have no stake in it's distribution, besides the desire to see people playing the best games around!
