Considering this game was advertised as being low-end friendly...

All this would take is another bar below the espionage bar... Counter espionage. Basically it subtracts espionage points (or however it is calculated) from the other race's knowledge of you. This would allow espionage to drop back below advanced level.
I'd say that 2 or 3 is probably a pretty low estimate across the entire world... There could be other factors as well- for instance that more of the men are visiting the website.
The AI designs its own ships. It will always name them for their function though. The only exceptions are the ships it gets from random events.
10 base food production instead of 5. I think there are other bonuses as well. I think I heard that it doesn't actually work properly though.
@ No118 & ZedT Who cares what colour font I used... It's not like your even answering my question... It's hard to answer a question when I can't read what the question is.
If you make it an Economic starbase with trade modules... will it always be within its own area of control, and thus always get a trade bonus (assuming you're still getting trade revenue)
There's a hard limit on range.
That may be true, but since the human player doesn't conform to a particular 'difficulty level', they can quite easily be singled out. Not deliberately of course, but the human will tend to either be ever so slightly ahead (making the others scared of him) or behind (making them gang up on him).
Only with Trade modules and trade routes AFAIK
Have you ever thought of using a font colour that is actually legible?
Well, if you're playing as the Borg then you can just restrain yourself from entering the diplomacy screen.
You can't select them in sandbox directly, but you can through the Dread Lords on Parade scenario. So just overwrite the Dread Lords with the Borg and when you want to play against them just use that scenario (perhaps with the name changed to Borg Assault or something). Dread Lords are basically at war with everyone and with a massive technology advantage. You can't trade techs or make peace, or steal techs by espionage.
Don't rush buy. Especially don't rush buy on one of the 'buy now pay later' schemes. Just like in real life, that's going to screw you in the long run... Build more economic and population buildings, and concentrate on those tech trees. A good rule of thumb is one farm per entertainment network or so. Don't build too many farms or you'll get a morale problem. Be cautious with building farms on their bonus tiles for the same reasons. Don't bother with farms on low quality planets at al
Perhaps have the Borg as the Dread Lords?
It's less important since 1.2. Before then First strike was very important. Speed still allows you to pick your battles, which can make a lot of difference. Also allows damaged ships to return to somewhere safe without being intercepted. There's also the issue of dying of boredom while you wait for your ships to arrive. On a gigantic map, it can take months of game time for a ship to get where you want it if you don't put engines on it. Getting your ships to where they are needed most
Excellent! I wish this was happening to me. You were saying? If you can't handle the fire, step down to a lower difficulty level.
But with all that effort you put into researching the better Starbase techs, you could have built yourself a much better fleet of spaceships, which would not only be more effective in combat but also would be able to move. The starbases would have been quite useful if only they had been fitted with shields... That said, I would tend to build a few if I was bored. Planetary guns as well, even though those were just as useless. Just because I could.
You are a lucky guy. All I've ever seen a minor do is spam starbases and then get killed.
Of course, you wouldn't want starbases too much like the Imperium Galactica starbases as those things just sucked...
It is by design, but what he's saying is that it isn't happening.
No they don't... What makes you think that?
They do not need the Alliance tech. People always say they do, but they don't. You need the Alliance tech to propose an alliance, but not for someone else to propose it to you.
You need to download it via Stardock Central, which is available on the downloads page.
There may be five biological sexes, but let's face it, male and female make up the rather vast majority of that. The poll makes no mention to whether it refers to psychological or biological gender, so why not just make the assumption that it refers to biological gender instead of making a fuss over a perfectly innocent poll.
