Set tax low enough to keep morale on your homeworld at 100%. If your population starts to run low, don't completely fill the colony ships, just send them out with a token number of colonists in order to claim the worlds.

1. It's there, below 'Recent posts' I haven't checked how well it works 2. Yep, can't argue with that 3. I don't know much about 3d modelling but .x is pretty standard for 3D modellers. Blender is free and I believe it supports it.

I start off by building two factories on my homeworld. Put your spending up to 100%, all in Social and this will take only three or four weeks. Then switch to mostly military production (all military if it's a smallish galaxy), colony ships should take 2-3 weeks or so (design your own, faster than the core coloniser). While you're doing this, send your Survey ship after anomalies and your colony ship to claim a new world. Sometimes you will just find that you have nothing t

You've probably encountered a corrupt installation file. You can either retry or abort. I dunno what precisely what is wrong, but I'd guess that: - Your original install is broken, try to reinstall it - Maybe your internet connection glitched out, stopping the download? Try downloading it again - Something totally different that I haven't thought of I must str

Well obviously, it seems, using the small ships like this would be unbalanced How is that obvious? You sacrifice space on your large ships for space on your small ships. In some situations, this would be better. In others, it would not. <TD

Your influence establishes the border.... It's a boundary, period No no no no no no no. No. I'm not against your idea completely, but this particular part I do not agree with. Borders would have to be seperate from influence since sometimes your planets fall within someone else's influence. If you include a second border s

I really don't know why you wouldn't want to anyhow. You should always be building something, otherwise you'll fall behind. If you don't want anything in particular, just pump out some constructors since there always seems to be a starbase in need of an upgrade.

On Tough difficulty, the AI get the Intelligent AI. The two things are one and the same. It is slightly confusing, but the AI settings and the general settings have different names for the same thing.

Don't forget that if you have a fleet of tinies with the same attack and defense rating as a fleet of Huge ships, the Huge will win. Why? Because the defense and of the Huge ships are concentrated on single vessels, meaning that it is easy for them to score high damage over the individual weakly defended tiny ships, while the tiny ships with their low individual attack power will have trouble against the large ship's defenses. That's before you start considering that the attack power of the tiny

I just ally with people as I go (without lots of gifts, just by trade route, military power and so on). If they won't ally quickly enough (usually the evil races) then I wipe them out. This avoids the tedious endgame of mopping everybody up, as you only really have to do it with a few of the civs. It isn't cheasy, which is the accusation some like to level at allied victory, since I will almost always be the largest by the point that I win the allied victory (excluding unlucky surrenders).

What difficulty level are you on? Up to Tough, the AI will keep getting better, after that it's all economic bonuses and they can begin to see past their sensor range. It isn't perfect, and it certainly isn't as good as a human, but it doesn't embarass itself. Don't forget that it's not necessarily always a good idea to switch your defenses over, they might be better off shifting those resources into other areas.

Research stock markets now to deal with the Banking centres, if it's really a problem, cancel the upgrades. Move the Manu plants to the top so that things build faster. I never really got the big 'problem' with these things. Sure, it takes a while, but once it's done you'll be in a better position.

I got the planet flipping message, clicked done and it sent me to the planet screen. However, it then crashed before I managed to click on any of the tiles or anything like that.

1.2b is a more recent version than 1.11, so 1.2b to 1.11 would actually be a downgrade. However, 1.2b is a beta version, so it is still under development and may occasionally crash on you. This is why it is only available through SDC, and not from the website. If you find 1.2b crashes too much to you, uninstall then upgrade to 1.11 again. If you don't see any problem with 1.2b, then just sit back and enjoy the extra features.
