Don't ask them for too much and, providing they like you enough/are scared of you enough they'll give it to you. Especially with minors, if they have a tech you want, it's sometimes worth just asking for it before you try to trade for it. You can't get things for free too often though, they'll remember that they've already given you stuff.

What I would like to see would be Military Strength removed entirely from calculations of race relations, except for the negative effects in the case of militaristic civs like the Drengin. When relations reach the point where the civ wants to declare war on you, it'll then compare military strengths, and the military strength of whatever allies you have, or whoever you are at war with and so on. If it reckons it can win, it then declares war. If it doesn't think it can win,

I have that problem with Iconians/Korx as well. Eliminate one of them early Hardly the best option though. Personally I'd favour one colour being picked as a 'reserve' colour- if you pick a colour close to another races colour, they switch to using the reserve colour. Same thing with race icons and portraits.

I agree that perhaps techs and ships should be passed on, but morale shouldn't change depending on the fortunes of war in my opinion. It may be more realistic, but the last thing the game needs is to give even more momentum to the invading race! If you've lost a couple of planets (or more likely, if the AI has ) then they are already disadvantaged. They'd have even less chance of fighting back.

There's a button at the top of the lower left part of your HUD. Looks like a little circle with an arrow pointing down into it. Click that to place rally points.

I don't like games that treat the AI differently than the players though. Perhaps at the higher difficulties this should be the case, but I want to be able to keep playing on tough without the AI picking on me just because I'm a human. That's RACISM The worst example of this is in Rome Total War, where EVERY other civilisation (except for ones that are scripted to be allied with yo

You have to restart the game before the new mod starts working. Also, it will only affect new games that you start playing, and if you have customised your races you may need to hit clear to restore the new defaults.

With the bugs... well that's why it's a beta. Report the errors so that Stardock can fix them. If you aren't prepared for errors, roll back to 1.11. You can upgrade all ships of a type at once- check the 'Upgrade all ships of this class' box in the upgrade window. Unfortunately, some people have said that for some reason this is more expensive than doing each one individually, though I personally haven't tested this. It is also worth noting that you can upgrade ships without removing

The Torians might be one of the ones to go I guess. Since you're playing as the Drengin, and those two do have a history, you can imagine that one of the missions might involve sending them back to slavery. Oh, and the idea of the Snatchi being promoted to a major race is hereby seconded

Maybe some Brits could help out on how they would say these Miles ahead of you I say old fruit, would you be so kind as to pass the teapot, what what?

You aren't playing on one of the custom maps are you? They restrict your choice of opponents some times. So do scenarios. If not then I don't know, it worked fine for me in the game I just played.

*Spoilers for campaign if anyone cares* I don't see how the humans would be involved at all, since they ran and hid at the end of the campaign. The only reason for them to return would be after they come back from Dread Lord space with massively improved technology and a grudge against the Drengin... Hmm... so I wonder who the 'new' race will be... Just my little theory.
