Sorry that my post was all in one paragraph, but paragraphing doesn't seem to be working for me today no matter how I input it.

I agree with 3xman. If you look at my metaverse games you'll notice that I started on a lower difficulty level and worked my way up, building my strategies each game. Based on the amount of games I've posted for each difficulty level I've 'perfected' (I.E. can win easily on) the learning curve seems to ramp up nicely (until masochistic, which is a major jump in difficulty). So you'll spend a lot of time perfecting your strategies at a lower difficulty, then you'll need less time to perfect th
I don't know if you can specifically give them fleets that stay together as a fleet (logistics would be a problem here if you could), but if you write down all the ships in a fleet you want to give them, and then give them that entire fleet they may choose to put them in a fleet if it suits their strategy and logistics. I've done this many times before to help keep a small civ alive and distracting my main rivals while I tech up so I can beat the big civs. Sometimes the civ I give the ships to
I prefer to not use an escort at all. So much of your battleships tend to be filled with weapons and armour so they can travel nowhere near as fast as transports. If you put enough engines on transports you can usually tour them from any planet in your empire to any enemy planet in 1 turn, and if you are playing on a large enough map that that is not possible all you have to do is take a non direct route that isn't patrolled by your enemies. A few scouts will give you the pathfinding ability
Have some rain roll in and out. Maybe have a sunset scene; all the variants could be randomized. There could even be some variants of rioting For a minute there I thought you were describing a date scene from a movie... I was getting all teary-eyed until I read the next sentence about rioting. Snapped me right back into reality. <img src="http://image
2) 1.2 won't save my names for my custom race after I exit the game. If I don't exit the game and just start another game, the names will still be there, but if I go to windows and come back it will be renamed "Custom Race" "Custom Leader" etc. Kind of annoying to have to type it in every time. It does save the stats and stuff fortunately. (note this is on metaverse... I h
On the latest game I played, I got a 700% Mine and a 700% Library on Earth... Love it. TIP Oh wow. Now if only you could get a few of those random events that up the pq of a planet, have them all hit earth, and build your tech and industry capitals there... Surround the planet with Econ star bases to up production and research... Great stuff...
The most I've ever found in a game is 3 corvettes (number-wise) or 1 ranger (power-wise).
That's what I thought csddat meant but i just thought I'd check.
I don't know if you saw it, but a show called X-play gave galciv2 5/5. X-Play is one of the best game review shows around. I've only seen them give 4 other perfect 5/5's (5 if you include galciv2). And to top it off, all their 5/5's are some of the best games I've ever played... With Galciv2 topping my list, of course! <img src="http://ima
Still someone is talking about this 700% cheating bonus? Uuummm... I might have missed something, but what exactly do you mean?
and why would you have a colony module and a troop module on a ship? doesn't make sense because it can't perform both functions in the game. Probably to get 2 free troops. If you do this with enough ships you could fully populate a planet in a single turn.
Yes. That is settled now... Back to the topic. Engines must be scaled.
and dont go ego tripping on me, math without application is nonsense and from all i know all you know is theory.. how do i know? coz i am a computer science engineering major, speciallizing in scientific computation (didnt want to throw titles but you started it), what we do is we take YOUR math and put it into pratice by applying the theory to computers. basically we take
You're welcome! It definitely makes exploring a lot easier, and makes so much more sense in most cases than using scouts (unless you keep the scouts around until you get weapons and upgrade them to suddenly have a large attack force or some such strategy).
That's still an awesome planet... Especially for a homeworld!
Hey, hey! Stay polite in your responses, guys! What do you mean by 'guys' (guys being plural)? Since the only responses before yours was mine and Surtak's I take it to mean that you believe my response was not polite. I said nothing harsh in my response only what I've had happen in my experience and, as such, take offence to that comment.<br
I've never had that happen to me. The computer always attacks my strongest fleets first, and then my strongest ships in each fleet first. I've never lost an undefended transport or freighter in a stack or fleet unless every single ship with weapons has been destroyed.
I personally like to reserve that kind of luck for my lottery ticket... Hah. I wish I could've done that. I'd gladly trade in a pq26 full of 700%ers (let alone a pq 16 with 2 of them) for a winning lottery ticket. After all, I could use part of the winnings to pay someone at stardock to write in a pq26 planet full of 700%ers for those lucky
I colonize evey planet i see who cares? Well the debate here is about the order in which you colonize them if you are faced with more than one habitable planet in a system and enemy colonizers on the way as well.
That's a great idea for the weapons and sensors. Bigger = badder. With everything else the size mod should stay because it takes bigger engines, more shielding/armour/point defence, more life support etc. to keep a big ship functioning.
I usually keep a fleet of custom made "spy ships" flying around the galaxy discovering all the little treasures out there. I don't use them for checking enemy fleets or planet defenses or anything like that instead I use them to find the resources before the other civs do. I definitely don't use the core scout design. I load a cargo hull full of engines, sensors, and life support so it can go fast, far, and see everything.
Also agreed! Your empire can quickly fall if you make ships too expensive and can't pump them out fast enough to counter your enemies ship production.
I've taken to playing Galciv during halftime and between the games. Don't get a lot accomplished on it, but at least I get to do both. What has been suffering is my productivity at work... I really haven't done anything since the world cup started...
