Since it is playable on merely the cloth map, there's no need to put out the (unfinished) main graphics engine for what will be a basic playability alpha/beta.

Well there is a game called Elemental being released next year...
Do we have to specifically put our names down? Or will it simply be everyone who's preordered? edit: I mean will the lottery be for everyone who's preordered
Your specs are better than mine, and I am running Sins at max.
Haven't we already had a thread about this? You know what the response will be - you haven't got a leg to stand on and its you own loss frankly.
hang on, have you ever even used impulse??? Your argument is utterly ridiculous when you look at it. I mean, would you only buy things like clothes from your favourite shop and never buy anything from anywhere else? You are not going to find anyone who agrees with you over why you are not buying the game. Read this if you still think you have a point.

Given that we've have the most info so early before release than any game I can think of, don't push your luck. I for one am not part of the 'community who would really love what you want more detail on' who demand everything now and even more later.
Comparing camps 3 and 4, I prefer 3 because: Having Empire wide distribution without roads seems a little silly The warehouse idea has been used in many previous games and my experience with it is of it feeling a liittle tacky. It might encourage ICS (sorry, infinite city sprawl, an old Civ tactic) if you got a basic rate at all cities, and it sounds like the amount of resources produced would increase with more cities, rega
Everyone will tell you a different thing. I think one of the problems with ETW is its sheer magnitude. Its such a big game that it has quite a few flaws. If you can see past the slightly dodgy (at times) AI and occasional annoying bugs its a great game. They are doing plenty of patches for it so hopefully soon it will be a lot better.
I reckon that naval stuff will be auto-resolved anyway. Naval stuff requires a different engine to work and ETW, while being by far the best, still isn't as fun or easy to manage as land battles.
The game is single-player focussed, just as Civ 4 is. There will be a multiplayer but its not the main focus, just as with Civ 4. So stop ranting about the multiplayer given what this game is about. Elemental is not Demigod!

Colonization was priced as an expansion (although it is standalone). I found it 'quite' addictive and fun but not 'that' addictive and fun. Its a perfectly reasonable remake of a classic strategy game IMO. Not a patch on real Civ 4 and GalCiv though.
"I can say that Beta 0 is not going to happen in June now. We might be able to do an Alpha then but that will only go out to a very tiny number of people (maybe 100 tops). I’m reserving 10 places and the rest will come from the pre-order pool as a lottery with points given to those who have GalCiv II + Sins + Demigod. Beta 0 would likely be July at this point but I’ll know more at the end of the week." Frogboy in one of the recent
My solution originally (for GC expansions and Sins) was "Dad, can you please pay for something using your credit card and I pay you back?" Now I have a credit card of my own [e digicons]:)[/e]
I went to my local Gamestop
Don't mention them [e digicons][/e] GS are not popular on Stardock forums currently after the Demigod launch fiasco (basically what happened was that Gamestop screwed up and released the game early before the Easter weekend break. Stardock hadn't bothered to put the new servers up - why would they, the game wasn't released until Tuesday - and the floo
You can prove anything mystical with numbers really: I can use e, pi and the square root of -1 to get an integer answer (-1) If you take any number, raise it to the power of a prime (provided your original number isn't a multiple of that prime) and divide by the prime, the remainder will be your original number ie (a^p)/p has remainder a.

Most of the updates were from SD, and they've been busy working on Demigod recently, so I suspect they've left IC do get on with the nitty-gritty of the second expansion ATM.
I'm intending to pre-order Elemental, but I have some important questions: I have a download limit imposed on me most of the time, so what sort of size would the downloads be? I could pre-order the box as well, but since I'm non-US it comes with sizeable p+p, so download would be preferable. If I pre-order the download only and find that I can't cope with the download, can I change my order to include the box as well (with an extra p+p payme
For 1 to be effective, a good governer system is imperative. Perhaps the best idea would be for everything to start automatically, with the option of changing it. For example: You build a zzz mine at xxx The resource is automatically assigned to a nearby town/city, with preference given to larger and more developed towns (or ones with better industries). A message comes up on the screen - yyy is now receiving zzz
