I know python, but I haven't used it for a while. I should be functional again real shortly though (you mentioning it for use in modding is a strong motivation). Let me know if you need any help. Anyways, about the modding. Just how far can we go? From what I understand, the default elemental will not have a huge number of spells, and you will not have the ability to make high powered units, or create unusual/strange/interesting units. For interesting units, I'm thinking stuff like my

My package was recieved today. I live in canada, and the delivery costed me about $6.85 canadian. Is it normal to get charged on delivery because I think I already paid for shipping and handling? I have yet to look at the contents of my box yet. I was thinking about letting it collect dust like my Sins box has, but after reading about bent Rook figures, I'm going to take a look at the very least. I'll be back after I look at the box, and review my e-mail reciept
1. How can i disable the game from switching to the next ship, after my current ship has depleted its movement points
Try the option "Skip Moves Left Over From Auto Pilot". Its mentioned in the manual (english version) on page 21. It should prevent the game from moving on the next ship, even if it has moves left over. If not, I'm not sure what you can do. You might have to look for the expansions for this option.
2. How can i change my germa
I'm not sure if we're going to get summoned units in the game. I don't recall anything mentioned about them. As far I know, we are not going to be able to make high powered units with strange, or exotic powers. As for golems, I imagine that they are built, not summoned. Its how DnD does it, and thats how tale started as. Go read the wiki link I provided. [link="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem"]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem[/link] I don't know about you, bu
The editors came with the TA expansion. You should be able to access them by using the launcher (double click the desktop icon) and select the "Editors" buton. You should get a list of editors from there. Mind you, they are not the best (the tech tree editor will attempt to modify the prerequisite tech for the first entry) so you will want to learn how to do things manually. If you can't find the launcher, you can try looking here for the tools: C:\Program Files\Stardock Games
6. There does appear to be some problems with downloading an archive, and restoring from archive. These problems seem to be the same ones back from phase 2. I'll be doing some tests tomorrow (or some time when I don't have to worry about university finals).
Here are a few things I noticed: 1. View can be set to detail (default setting) - Good 2. The columns can be edited along with view - Good 3. "My Tools" & "My Desktop" is now a single entity "My Software" - Don't really care 4. There are some missing information (such as galciv1 not having any publisher or genre for instance) - Should be an easy fix 5. Incomplete list of demos (There are more than what is shown in the My Games tab when enabled) - Should be
9. In fleet battles the AI needs to consider it's targets more thoroughly. It should kill off the 1 HP invaders with troops so I can't use them to invade. But I have never had a transport killed off in combat (unless alone or entire fleet is lost ).
I like to think that they are being protected by the fleet. If they have no weapons, then they have no reason to be on the front lines where they can get shot.
13. I think maybe you are correct - I picked Neu
Any other changes to be made? “Of course!” states Marshall, “We also have plans for more pink, purple and baby blue suites and themes for MyColors and WinCustomize”.
I might be a little weird because of it, but I do like purple. What kind of purple stuff are you guys planing? As for suggestions, have you guys looked at what youtube is doing? I ussually run a surplus at some point (lots of stock markets with a farm and morale building on each planet... except for very low PQ worlds). As such, I can ussually afford to keep all my ships up to date. You might wish to try it.
Some tips: -Higher populations produce more taxes. -High morale increases population growth, +25% for 75%+ morale, x2 for 100% morale. -Having 0% taxes early in the game can help you get the much needed tax population. -Having dept for a long time slowly decreases morale (so its a good idea to get out of dept asap). -Very low morale causes your population to start decreasing. -You can try to sell techs and other stuff for a quick buck. -Galactic resources
Just to clarify, we will only be designing humans and fallen? We will not be able to make units like undead or constructs? What about magically augmented units (augmentations that make them something not quite human)? If not, perhaps that will be a topic for a future expansion then.
Right click huh. I guess someone had to have problems with something like that at some point.
I still don't understand the purpose of the "Guard" and "Sentry" commands. Ships with these commands do nothing until a foreign vessel comes withing range and then does more nothing? In the real world, the purpose of a guard or sentry is to challenge any unauthorized person who comes near.
The Torians, Yor, and Iconians all start with farm planet improvements, but they are not the traditional variety. They are unique to their civs, and they have the required techs researched before the game. The Thalans also get one, but its a galatic achievement so they can only build one.
I don't know of any means (that I would use) to upload save files. However, after giving it some thought, you can upload images here: [link="http://imageshack.us/"]http://imageshack.us/[/link] You don't need to make an account to use. You merely need to upload an image and copy the link given. Anyways, sin
I'm not sure what we are able to do to help. Without a means for you to give us a save file that we can open and see whats wrong, we can't exactly know for sure whats happening. I still get the feeling that you are doing something wrong on your end. But still, I do have a few thoughts. Is this your first game so your problems could be due to a lack of experience? Can you start a new game without this problem?
You should probally send a bug report to: [link="mailto:"][/link] They might be able to help. It should be noted that Stardock is currently busy with other projects, so don't expect an immediate responce. Be certain to explain your problem with attacking the ship in question. <span style="font-size: xx-sma
Try looking here: (where ever installed) \GalCiv2\Data\English\Campaigns (where ever installed) \GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Data\English\Campaigns (where ever installed) \GalCiv2\Twilight\Data\English\Campaigns You will find the files used in the campaigns. You can open the files with a text editor to read things, though it will most likely be in .xml c
You don't seem to understand what "Sentry" or "Guard" is supposed to do. When idle, when either command is active, the ship(s) in question do nothing. When the given trigger wakes them up, they are ready to recieve orders. They take no actions until they recieve orders (I believe thats what they are intended to do, like in the civilization series). The reason for this is, in DL original, when you finish givin
According to the manual giving my fleets the "Sentry" command is supposed to get them to challenge any ship "friendly or enemy" that are near, but they don't see either the raider or the freighter and so just sit there and do nothing. Any ideas?
Could you check the manual again? The sentry command isn't supposed to do what you say it does. The commands, guard and sentry, makes your ships&n
Isn't Capcom the publisher of Age of Booty http://www.impulsedriven.com/agebooty that use SECUROM for DRM, even when buying with Impulse ...
Am I the only one who finds the idea of using anti-pirating software, to prevent piracy, for a game about pirates somewhat amusing?
Though its hard to find time to play any games at all when taking university, I'm sure I'll be able to fit in some SINS play time and give feedback from that. Thanks for the heads up.
I think it has to do something with how well a game can entertain a person. In this day and age of advanced video games and computer games, there are still people out there who play poker. I'm sure that it has a large enough of a fan base that if I were to call it a simple game of cards, I get a few people who would argue otherwise, both from the traditional hardcore to the new recruits from the commercials.
I was going to wait another week or so before I asked the same question. My guess is that they are very busy with Elemental, Demigod, and Sins Entrenchment. They merely haven't had the time to bother with another update. Maybe if we submitted more bug reports, they might say at some point "Hey, lets release another update.".
I believe that Peacekeepers declare war on those who have military ships outside of their territory at the time the event starts. If the Drengin were playing nice when it happend, they could then "aid" the Peacekeepers without fear of retaliation. I've "aided" the Peacekeepers many times in the past.
