@Heavenfall, reply #33 If I do recall correctly, that borg was killed after the safety was turned off. I don't remember the exact details as I haven't watched that movie for a while.
No word on player created super soldiers yet? Damn. (goes back to waiting patiently)
I feel your pain man. I feel your pain.
It really sounds like you are really into this idea of being able to make large armies. However, I have to ask how powerful can you make your units? Are the best you can make nothing more than the cream of the crop of your armies? Will they be weaker than the heroes (with enough experience), the dragons, and other mighty creatures of this world? Or will you be able to create champions, strong enough to be a threat to these mighty creatures, take on large armies single handedly, a
@ Palverz, reply #36 Though I appreciate the suggestion, I already have a few methods for keeping track of my own games. However, I might add your suggestion of a notebook to track things to the list (or maybe a text file from notepad). The problem I have faced in the past is that sometimes new patches renders the old saves non-functional. For GalCiv 2, this has happened many times. I would give an exact example, but I seem to have a bad habit of missplacing my backu
Its difficult to say exactly without feedback from the devs. Considering that this game will be in a state of development, whatever size it starts out with will likely grow. Fortunately Impulse doesn't tend to download the whole game again when updating. It'll will only update the components that have changed since last time. So long as you keep up to date with the downloads, any updates will likely be small. Odd are, only the first download will be the big one. That said
so... WHAT? wait... NOOOOOOOOO! DOn'T Horrid Tenticle Seaweed Monster is attacking me... arrggggggggg
/whistles Down boy down. Quit slobbering all over Solam. No, I don't think he wants seaweed slime that far up his pants, or his shirt, or all his helmet, or anywhere else. No I don't think he want to shake you tenticle. God only knows how many people you have groped in akward places with that thing. Don't look at me like that. You don't exactly
I didn't see any Trentalor monster on that map!
A Trentalor monster? Whats that? If you are refering to my "Horrid Tenticle Seaweed Monster" comment, I mentioned as part of my comments involving making a monster out of lots of seaweed by using a spell. There is no actual monster on the map, though there is a forest under water. ---- On a side note, I now want to turn one of my HTSM (Horrid Tenticle Seaweed Monster) into a mount. I
Does this mean no forests of seaweed? Here I was begining to make invasion plans involving animated seaweed to attack ships, and to travel on land to terrorize costal cities as some horrid tenticle seaweed monster. Seriously, what am I going to do now to terrorize people?
About the pics... underwater forests??
/Shrugs shoulders Could be a forest of seaweed.
will the AI have water phobia?
It might depend on how they feel about seaweed.
Quick thought, could we get it so whenever Elemental makes a map, it'll save it? I have, from time to time, gone back and replayed maps in other games using different setups and start locations. I would like to have such an option for Elemental. I know for GalCiv 2, my skill level has greatly improved over time, and I would really wish I could go back and try to replay some of those older games that I had trouble with. Could you also include a means to remember
So many posts in less than a day. I'll read them all later. For now, I'll post some of my ideas. I like the Camp #1 system the best. It gives me the sense that if there is anything I would want to have done (in regards to the economic system), I can do it. I have no problem with having a Camp #2 or #3 interface (assuming its not a pain) so long as I can somehow override things to do anything I want to do with a Camp #1 system. For instance, lets say that an enemy has
I made a point to study this long ago. Assuming nothing has changed since then, this is how things work. A ship must have atleast 1 point in attack (any type) in order to benefit from any attack ship assist modules. The type you are getting a bonus to does not need to match the type you have. Same goes for defense. A ship must have atleast 1 point in defense (any type) in order to benefit from any defense ship assist modules. The type you are getting a bonu
It could be a fluke. However War Profiteering is quite useful as it is an advantage you don't want to skip. It can easily make the super ability "Super Manipulators" a very profitable advantage. Getting an income ammount equal to roughly 11% of the total income of each civ at war is quite handy. Its one of the few times in this game that good shows it isn't dumb, and is quite prepared to hold its own against other idealogies. Try tough difficulty next tim
You're best bet is to use Impulse. Assuming your games are registered, you should only need to install Impulse, input your e-mail address (the one your games are tied to) and password, and then download at your convience. You need never use Impulse again thereafter. Your games could have been registered by buying them from the stardock store (since you mentioned e-mail and activation serial #, this might be what happened). Alternatively you could have registered them manually usi
To the best of my knowlege, no. When playing TA, you are stuck with the new planetary invasion screen. If this is a serious problem for you, you could always go back to playing DA, or DL.
I haven't forgot about the last movie. It felt like the only reason to go see it was for the special effects (for those who like the sweet taste of eye candy). I also think this webcomic is a good review of the first movie (see link below): [link="http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=241"]http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=241[/link]
Sadly, Impulse weekly hasn't been updated for a while now. The problems that the pirates have caused Demigod has keep Stardock plenty busy. As such, we haven't received much news as to what is comming. With Impulse weekly, we could at the very least get a short version of everything that has happened, or will happen. As for SecuROM & Street Fighter IV on Impulse, its news I don't like.
I don't know about you, but I would like to be able to keep the town. It doesn't have to be the best option in all cases. I don't like the idea of total genocide just because the conquourer is a different race (or species) than the conquoured. Maybe the town might require some special improvements like a "Re-education Center" to teach the Fallen about morals, laws, and civilization. The Fallen might in turn use a "Slave Trading Center" to put those weak h
Glad it was of help. I've spent many, many hours over many games trying to figure them out.
What version of python do you plan on supporting? I'm reading some stuff for python 3.0, and I've read that its going to be backward incompatible with any earlier verison. This is how they plan get rid of some problems plagueing the lanuage for a while. Here is my source: [link="http://docs.python.org/3.0/whatsnew/3.0.html"]http://docs.python.org/3.0/whatsnew/3.0.html[/link]
/shrugs shoulders in a "I don't know" gesture Beats me. We got "Dawn of War: Dark Crusade" a while back, and we've yet to get any more products from the THQ catalog since then. As such, I don't know if this game you speak of will be released on Impulse any time soon.
If I recall correctly, the Dragonball series was not know for their consistency, especially the movies. Goku being alive might be one of the slip ups. Besides, the episode (near the begining) mentioned this was 2 years after Majin Boo caused trouble. Maybe they brought Goku back to life for this episode only to kill him off again when consistency matters.
To clarify how Atlas modules work: -Each Atlas module can provide bonuses to 1 or more bonus types. Only 1 bonus for each fleet type bonus, can be in effect at any given time. Only the strongest of each type takes effect, while everything else (including other bonuses of equal power) takes the redundency role in the event you lose ships. -Each ship may only carry 1 Atlas module. -There is a Fleet Warp Bubble bonus type, but it isn't considered to be an Atlas module
Impulse has a function called "Verify Installation". You can right-click the game, and use that option to see if the game is installed correctly. If there is a problem, it will suggest you download the files needed to fix the installation. To do this, you merely have to update the game as though a patch was just released (be certain to "Verify Installation" to double check things). It has fixed some of my installed games when they would frequently crash on me, or otherwise not wo
I mean will the vanilla version of the game be any good? Or in order for it to be good will it be necessary to mod it? Somebody mentioned there will be only a few spells. Does this mean the game will have like 10 spells and the rest we will have to created?
I mentioned it (see reply #18). If I recall reading correctly, it was something like 10 unique spells per civ. So there're be a few per civ, but many in the game overall. However, I can't find the source of the info,
