Was hopin' for a little more insight on how much they are going to modify the espionage system in update version 2.0?

I finished the game but not the expansions yet, but it's a great game because of the graphics and the RPG systme which is unlike any other so far. That is why it is very unique in it's genre, now to say that morrowind is better than oblivion is just nonesense.
I think they should be thinking on making GalciV III, so twilight of the Arnor should be the last expansion but I'm open to the idea of regular updates with stardock central for GalciV II after the expansion. I mean look at Heroes series, they went up to Heroes 6 I believe and they haven't missed a beat, granted the company has changed. But you have to try our new ideas, the only way is a game from scratch, personally espionage is important to me. I can't wait to see the update were going to get
To simply put it, most games go down in a military victory, even if you don't conquer worlds and win by influence or technoloy, your military has to be number one. If races don't attack you, chances are you have a strong military and win by another method. So the ideal races are those who are militaristic with strong tech and military production.
One thing that makes no sense to me is that without some level of espionage you can't examine/view an enemy planet. But if you want to place an agent - you somehow magically instantly know all of their improvements. How exactly does that make sense?! Knowing what's on a planet is pretty critical info, especially if one wants to invade and is considering which types of invasions to use (like whether to use some that damage structures). It's also pretty amazing
Actually the spy on a farm only needs to be there for a single turn. You will see the planet's population drop down immediately. You can plant the spy the turn before your transport gets there. I had a feeling it was like this too, just wasn't sure but you confirmed it for me.
That's largely just a matter of sabotaging the appropriate buildings on the planet--morale, influence, etc. Sabotaging farms in particular softens planets up for invasion nicely, since it causes many of the people to starve. That might be true, but I've played this game long enough to tell you that even with the present system of espionage in dark avatar which was a slight improvement, there needs to be a whole new system and a better one. For
Total Majesty,bc's,Xeno dominate will rule out almost all of the time. Any coments? yes this phrase .. probably a coded message. Only those who were brain washed in the past will wake up as soon as they see this message and carry out the order. What is that order? who knows, it could be an assasination of some kind. lol ...
I think espionage should be a "way to win" so to speak. It should be a product of your economy and technology, if your wondering what I mean go check my ideas in those sepcific threads about espionage.
Yes, I was one that wished for cloaking technology. My idea is very similar to star trek. Basically you have a cloaking technology tree, the more you advance, the better you can cloak yourself. For example, if you have a level 5 cloaking device, and your opponents have level 4 sensor device, then those ships that you have installed the device on will give you the option to cloak and be invisible to all your opponents. Meaning it would be a technological race. An invisible ship can attack the tar
I was anticipating it since they asked us for some ideas on the espionage system. Even if this expansion dosnt mention "espionage" on this site but it does in gamespot's interview. Could be minor changes but eventually there going to have to re-work it. As far as I'm concerned, this expansion is amazing since we finally have some kind of an editor along with other features. Wow ! and thanks ...
Let me put it this way, i rarely press the last turn button where it's going to go to the victory cutscene ...
Well, im only going to agree with you on the espionage problem. Other than that, the rest works fine since this is mainly a strategy game, you wont actually win by some bonuses anyways? Even if you have a strong bonus, it shoudn't be ground-breaking enough to give you an extreme advantage on wining the game.
They don't expand, but sometimes they offer techs stolen from a major race.
I believe your kid might of actually customed a new race, because you will still find the core races in the opponents menu selection. The core races don't actually get deleted or modified ... from my experience anyways ...
I have yet another idea for an espionage victory... Espionage & Counter-espionage Espionage Intel = 40 bc/wk is the maximum spending research tech structure lvl 1 = society (10bc) " " lvl 2 = economy (20bc) " " lvl 3 = technology (30bc) " " lvl 4 = military (40bc) Destabilization = 100 bc/wk is the maximum spending research tech structure lvl 1
sorry about that, but im actually open minded on ANY CHANGE regarding espionage. it can be re-used in a different way or re-worked and i will be happy to read about them, i just didnt know what you meant as you created this thread. as long as we have more control over espionage or as long as "espionage" can be another method to achieve victory. personally, i feel that they should eliminate "influence" victory and replace it with one "espionage". since, influence is very close to a "military" vic
It's time to think about the next expansion; other than all the bug issues that needs to be resolved at or before the expansion if there thinking about maiking one, we must think of improvements. Allow more control over espionage - When no espionage spending is needed, the AI sais from time to time we might get a breakthrough and steal technology. Well at this point, didn't we earn the right to target which tech to steal? In other words, we get the option to choose and t

Here it is ... 1. Customizing opponents; allow a trade meter from " never to frequent " - this way the AI would either trade with you frequently or never during the game. 2. Allow a cloaking device built on scout or attack ships only after researching the right tech. Maybe after researching the counter-espionage tech will enable cloaking device. 3. Allow a tech to counter the cloaking device. Maybe sensors level five will enable anti-mirror sensors on ships that wi
The anwser is in plain site because God already gaved us a limit, we are not immortal. And for those of you who say that one day we will uncover a pill or a technology that will make us immortal? it's hard to believe for someone exisiting for millenias. Life is very unexpected and there is bound to be something that will kill you eventually. So immortality might be possible in a biological sense and to a certain degree but I can't imagine someone living for a million years ????
- Your own spies become traitors and work for some other civ(s). - Or, some other civs spies join yours.
The moral of the story is? somehow there has to be a way of making others break their alliances. This will be done by somehow upgrading the existing espionage system in avatar to a point where we can have spies influence other civs or frame other civs to eventually break alliances. I know that there is a super ability called "master manipulator" but I haven't heard anyone to use it to a point where he was able to make a civ go to war with another allied civ? or maybe it's impossible at this poin
Solution: HAVE DEFENSE REGENERATE SLOWLY. In addition, the 3 types of defences can act like shields. Meaning, you have to drain the ship's shields before making any kind of damage. Think star-trek, once your shields drop down to 0%, then you can start penetrating the halls and making serious damage. But in order to fire, you have to drop down your own shields. I guess this will be more of a tactical combat situation so forget the whole thing ..
