Have you all tried customing your opponents and setting the aggression level to low?? It should be harder for that CIV to get provoked even if it's good vs evil, at least that's the purpose.

2 things, we should have a database of potraits with much more options than what exists in the game when we want to custom our opponents. It'll make it more fun to match the personality with the alien portraits, as it is, we end up using the one's that exists!? Second, I don't know if this is a bug, but when I custom the AI's abilities and financial (tax vs yours) meters, it keeps on changing when I go to the number of oppponents menu. Meaning after I finish customing my opponent, then

There is actually a way to nullify an agent, if the opponent places its own agent on one of its tiles that you have your agent at, yours will be nullified. This is called counter-espionage, where you can actually use your agents to stop other agents working in your own buildings. So to anwsering your question, it could be that the AI is producing agents at the same rate as yours and its using it to detect your agents. On a side note, I woudn't use agents in the begining and rush those agents sim

Then why allow the possibility to put a spy on that trade good tile if it's not going to work. I heard that you can't put spies on certain things like starports or initial colonies? Shoudn't it be the same for micro repair tiles?

Influence victory dosn't have substance, I mean think about it, it's the lazy way to achieve a conquest victory. You dominate most of the galaxy and as soon as you reach 75%, you stop and make peace and win. It's just 25% short of going all the way with a conquest victory. They should just eliminate influence from the game and replace it with "owned planets" when it comes to having an advantage in a council vote. Whomever has the most planets has an advantage in the votes. For example ... <

Why shouldn't they? Sounds like a good strategy to me. Spam one race with agents, cripple it economically, set up the devil's-cycle and that race is doomed. Repeat for next race. If I were the AI I'd do that. You have other things to worry about than spending money on agents, think about your military. You can have 10 more agents than your oppon

Another point I want to make about "black markets" is that they are not static. They cannot afford to stay in business for too long at a same location because of the fear of getting caught by the governments etc... So with this new espionage system where you have agents working in enemy territory, well guess what, they can get caught. We might have to move those agents around, because I think these agents are going to be an effective asset to the game unlike before. They can create conditions wh

If a civ's economy is in trouble, it will no longer be able to afford to train spies, and so yes, it will stop. (for that particular civ) Any agents already trained/placed will still be available for use. I wonder if it also depends on the personality of the CIV, if it is an agressive peronality, would it focus on spies or military might like th

Remember, they don't want to introduce too many other ways to achieve victory or to make one way advantagous over another. For example, espionage now has a major upgrade and it "could" be one of the factors in which you can obtain victory. So if you make black markets and so on and so forth, the AI will take advantage of that too or can always take advantage of that to obtain victory. People might forget about researching the weopons and armors. Besides, you can always buy off ships from other m

1. Ori (stargate)... if evil? 2. Goaould (stargate) 3. Borg (startrek) 4. Klingons??? why there's the Drengin which reminds me of the Klingons soooo much. 5. Aliens (except they have a machine hoocked up to their brains to make them smarter.)

If you think about it when your ships get experience in combat, it gets harder for them to get "hit". It's because their "hit points" increase but not in a sense that the hulls get upgraded but the pilots move better and avoid getting hit and last longer in combat, at least I think that's the idea behind it. Freighters on the other hand don't get experience and already have treaties and the galactic privateer as an advantage. The idea of a chance to evade will probably never happen in GalcivII s

Are there benefits on placing an agent other than cancelling the building's bonus if the agent has been on the planet for the longest time and hasn't been caught? Do you eventually cause other problems?? Also, does anyone know the initial cost of training an agent and the subsequent rate at which the price increases?

24 Replies 9,393 Views

Ok then the AI should recognize the fact that when I upgrade my freighters, it shoudn't ask me to upgrade all of them while they are already on a trade route??? Last time I wasted around 5000 grands for nothing and if I knew that the money wasn't going to something that was going to improve my freighters then I woudn't of spent the money in the first place.

Can anyone tell me if I increase the speed of my freighters, will I also have increased the income for my Empire? Even if we don't see the freighters actually move fast during trade. I would imagine increasing speed from point A to point B will bring in more goods in 1 week thus increasing the income for that week?

I don't know but your BC should be at least well into or near the six figures which by that time you can find other obvious ways to win the game? I mean is it really worth it to wait until you can actually buy a planet if not planets???

Can someone give me the intel of cloaking devices in Dark Avatar? Here are a few questions that have or many of you might have that can be related ... 1. Do we research the right technology and is it available to all the civilizations? 2. Is it available to be installed on any type of a ship or only attack ships? 3. What is the function of the cloaking device and what is its advantages? 4. Can the cloaking device be countered?

Maybe the AI knew that if even when forming a fleet you would of been able to defeat its fleet. In fact if their ships were wide apart, you would have to spend more maneuvaribility to pick them apart one by one, that can be in itself a strategy.

really like the idea behind this event, but I always reload whenever I get it, because the ships slow my game down and just too much of a hassle to have to deal with. Then that means your a cheater. Thanks for the input

Am I assuming correct if I say that we can only put an agent on enemy planets if we reach the right intelligence level to be able to "view" that planet's infrastructure and that we have the necessary range in order to transport that agent to that planet? I know that you place your agents automatically in enemy buildings, but what if the enemy planet is so far that even your ships can't reach it yet because you don't have enough sensor range, can you still put an agent so far on that planet?

24 Replies 9,393 Views

the cost scales with your overall economy size (AFAIK) What do you mean by the above quote ...? Althought I understand why the cost might increase everytime you train an additional agent.

24 Replies 9,393 Views

So basically, it's the amount of agents you have is going to make you a good covert operator. For example, lets say the Drengin empire has 5 agents in total and you have about 20 or more, you can basically eliminate the Drengin by making their buildings unusable. I'm curious, is their a cap of how many agents you can have??

It's normal, cause their out for revenge, in fact their called "revenge" or something. But those ships are very week ... no worries.
