Is my memory faulty or was it the case in DL that when a planet was terraformed its quality would increase? PQ 10 + soil enhancement because a PQ 11? That is exactly how it worked.

If you get Planetary Bombardment but not Planetary Invasion, can you build troop transports? Nope. Basic Troop Modules specifically require Invasion. You can simply ask for both in the trade and get Planetary Invasion and Planetary Bombardment for the smaller price of Planetary Bombardment.
Insightful or Trolling wasn't this a feature of the old forums? It was. Apparently it's back.
In my current game, no one has better than soil enrichment at this point. I do have it, and I am still seeing the disappearing tiles. Maybe you need all the terra techs, not just to the current level of AI research. I am not sure it is happening in all cases though. If you just glance at the tile layout during the invasion, drop it in short term memory and look at the planet post invasion, it's not too hard to get a feel for how much this is affecting you. Has anyone checked the current 1.5
I would also suggest reading through the forums both here and over at the core (http://www.thegalacticcore.com) a bit looking for like minded individuals and see what empires they are from. I think you will find that pretty much all the empires have friendly and helpful people. I, of course, have my preferred empire! Now where is the requisite Orca post? <a href="http://metav
That's wierd, I can rate the OP as Interesting or Insightful. Replies only as Trolling or Insightful. Edit - Apparently we were testing it at the same time
Clicking on them. It looks like there are a couple of choices for Rating them and a comment box for reporting....Don't worry! I didn't report you!
I've always found the game start very interesting. You really do have several options and what you do here dramatically affects your ability to act in the mid game. If done right, you can get out of the shoot before the AI is ready, and effectively win the game before the first troop transport is built. The key is focus on different starting options to find the most efficient one for your race and game size... <img src="http://altmeta2.th
This may sound obvious...But I always reboot before starting a mid to late game session. Then before actually launching the game, I kill everything out of the system tray/memory that isn't actually needed for GC II (like printer stuff/IM/Adobe Cue). A couple of them, have to be killed off the processes list actually take them out of memory. Moving from 1.6Gb free to 1.8Gb shouldn't make that much difference, but I can really tell on my system...Just have to remember to reboot the system, when
No worries. I was hoping someone already knew or had dug through the files
What's on page 16 is basically what I posted above. I'm looking for more details than that. For instance, somewhere earlier in the forums, I read that the humans can trade with any given race once every four weeks, instead of once every eight weeks like everyone else. I'm looking for that kind of detail...
I'm looking to get a complete list of exactly what all the super abilities do. Kryo had posted this during beta: • [Terrans] Super Diplomat: Is able to secure much better deals through negotiation than other civilizations. • [Drengins] Super Dominator: When going to war, they receive a group of Corvette class ships. The number they receive is based on their military power. • [Altarians] Super Organizer: When attacked, other civilizations of a similar ethical alignment
I'm pretty sure I still have an Original CD of it in my computer CD folder. I always like the wormhole map it generated. With a better AI it could have been really fun, pre-built choke points, interesting aliens...
Empire gold is back!
Dropped in a 473K post. I think it added about 120-130K to my score. Now we just have to wait for a recalc and we should have our first place medal back! <img src="http://altmeta2.thegalacticcore.com/
It looks like it has drifted down to a mere 30K gap. Very reachable...I managed to get in some more solid play time on my game. I should have a post of my own this weekend to add to the total. The more, the better, as I expect the whales may have something to say about us wanting to take their first place medal back.
Is the real problem here that defense resets after each round of battle, instead of after each battle? I can't imagine your ships would be so effective if it didn't...
You may also want to investigate rally points at some later date as well. Towards the bottom left of the GUI you should see a little half circle arrow thingy. Click on it once and then drop it on the screen somewhere. This lets you set a rally point at that location. From then on, if you have a ship selected hit the 't' key. You will get a list of rally points and can just select the one you want your ship to head towards. It will stay on autopilot until it reaches the rally point.
Testing
Got some playing in last night. I'm hoping to post this weekend sometime. I may be optimistic.
It's good to see all the recent activity. Must play with new sig...
I also avoid military star bases. In fact, I only build star bases on galactic resources. Mobility + Ship build costs makes them prohibitive.
Isn't the 100% evil eco building just specific to that planet not the entire empire? It's for the entire empire. Also does the AI ever build military starbases? I do see this, but I don't think I have ever seen an upgraded one, so it's still pretty useless.
At the core I presume - must go hunting Yeap. Drengin, it looks like it is working right. What you select for display only affects your medals. Your login name is what is always displayed for posts. Check mine, character is Junta, posts are Purge. Good luck with the new character! As always, we remain a chatty bunch <a hre
(All DL) I do a significant number of these things plus a trick or two more. The majority of the basics are there, and they are enough to win every DL suicidal game...The one comment I really wanted to add was that the AI needs some adjustment based on map size and planet count as well. Fighting a war against someone who only has five or ten planets is primarily a tactical battle, fighting someone who has fifty planets is a strategic battle. A human player builds a strategy
