Go evil to get a +100% economy boost. Exploitalicious. Only, kinda sorta. It's been posted and known by the community since I've been playing and has not been fixed through several revisions. At some point, you have to just play with what is there.

Is spending tons of money to extend your colony rush as long and far as posible the only way to win on higher difficulty levels? For DL, absolutely not true. I suspect most do run the colony rush as far as possible, but I end my colony rush while there are still planets that I am sure I can claim . I instead switch my focus to galactic resources and internal development so I can get out the military chute before at least one of my neighbors. Ba
BTW I did finally find a Class 5 planet worth having a war over this last game. When I took it from the computer: IC on 700% bonus IC on 300% bonus IC on normal Starport Init Colony If only the AI had put a manufacturing capital on his Class 5
I'm still dinking around with figuring out the "ultimate" path for point scoring. I did set a rule for myself of only "in game" options (I.E. no reloads, etc.) Once I think I have that, my scores will probably tank as I look to do something new for a challenge. I still haven't hit DA at this point, I think that may be on the list here pretty soon. I'm also still trying to see if there is a way to beat DL before Dec 22, 2226 on an abundant all, gigantic, suicidal. I have ma
Once I get the 100% economic bonus that lies at the end of that rainbow, I will go back and buy up factories on the laggard planets. what?!!?!?!?!?!? am i missing something. I never knew there was a 100% eco bonus for evil civs. And to think that I've always been so good... Mind Control Center is bugged in DL (haven't checked DA). It doesn't affect defections at all. It actually gives a 100% econ bonus. When you build it, it even says so in t

Heh, disagree. I dont even start building ships en masse till I get medium hulls. I build a few small ships in the beginning for a token military deterrent. They are almost entirely dispensable. Seconded. I'm usually on my way to large ships when I'm starting up my first real run of warships. It's often half medium/half large. My first war sees me using them in singletons and pairs. The AI usually only has defenders around one in four or five planets
I would like to say thank you. I have an idea of what you guys have been doing and I know it has consumed a fair amount of time that all of you could have spent simply playing the game or doing something else. So thank you for all your work!
We don't want the Yor toaster factories to run out of raw material!
Very cool!
Thanks! After getting some sleep I posted some stuff up in our private forums. BTW I see we went back to the old logo...I really liked the new one that we dropped
You guys may want to consider using the Galactic Core. It is empire neutral and several empires are already using it: http://www.thegalacticcore.com/
Looks like my game is a blowout...I snagged 3 of the 4 military resources on the entire map out of the gate. I picked up the fourth one at the start of my first war. Good for winning, but not enough total for great scoring. I think that is the smallest number I have seen on a gigantic map. There might still be a fifth hiding down in one corner...Really heavy on the influence and research resources. With my recent experiments, this will be a good test to see if I can always crack 4
Started up my own new game this weekend...
In order of difficulty (hardest to easiest) I would rate: 1.31 1.4/1.2 (just about equal) 1.11 Subjective of course.
Social stuff is a good place to dump cash...And if your problem is severe enough you can just start buying monster ships. I have made it to a ship maintainance cost of 700-800K in a game turn before... I have been a long time advocate that the limit should scale with your income.
Nice job DA! Altmeta and the core are both working for me...
We should start a date pool, trying to guess when Mumble will pick up the third place commentator medal. He's been driving up the charts pretty fast recently
Given those numbers (the turn by turn oscillation), it probably is the 20K penalty that GW mentioned. You suffer a 20% drop in revenue if you have 20K or more in you treasury when you hit the turn button...
Sigh. I don't even remember beyond that I clicked post accidentally.
I think the copy protection stuff will be cracked within a week or two. Actually the crack beat the release [url removed by moderator -- do not post links to crack/piracy instructions] And yet another way: http://apcma
The CPU power option has absolutely nothing to do with any physical aspects of your CPU... Come on guys... Sheesh. All it means is that you're letting the game take more time to complete more complex calculations to make the A.I. more challenging. All it's going to do is slow down the time inbetween turns if you don't have a fast computer. I beli
I had this issue at one point in time. While it didn't work on my laptop, character creation worked just fine on my desktop. If you have access to more than one computer, you may want to give it a quick shot from a different computer...
Wat, I see you joined the Galactic Diplomats. Be sure to hop over to the galactic core and register. http://www.thegalacticcore.com/ Let them know you are a Galactic Diplomat and they will give you access to our private section as well...
I make all the same yes/no choices as Mumble, as I think most tech savvy people do. This is all part of the new MS attitude that says they should really own your computer. If you have any doubt, just remember they decided to make IE7 a "critical" security patch to the OS, when many people decided they didn't want it and would rather stick with IE6 or an alternative browser. I used to like MS many years ago, now I'm very agnostic. I find myself finding more and more of their actions offensive
