I have NOT been playing DA, but this does raise a question. I have noticed that the GUI has some issues when you hit the turn button and have lots of ships moving. I mean hundreds of different flight paths. At 50-150 ships moving, many of them will start to lose their autopilot paths, GNN news popups will be missing items (and sometimes not appear), sometimes ship and industry builds do not appear on the right hand side of the screen. Much is game dependent as well. In my current game the Thalans are significantly stronger than all the other AIs (playing DL not DA). This was a bit of a surprise, as they have been part of the perennially weak category for all of my previous games. I would list the regularly weak as: Krox Drath Thalans Iconians Which is fairly balanced across alignments.

I'm seeing a problem on loading the Altmeta page from both IE and FF. Array ( [0] => [1] => [2] => ) Is repeated 50 times across the top of the page, then it's starts displaying correctly a bit further down. BTW Thanks for the work on improving it. Edit: Never mind, I must have hit it during a refresh. It's fine now.

It is probably lost, but there is one chance...Stop fighting his ships altogether. I would try going guerrilla: Hopefully you have eyes of the universe...Build very fast interceptors (40+ speed at least, 60+ would be better) and put them in fleets capable of taking out any transport fleets (so they must be strong enough to take out the escorts). The 2 sector event has been commented on by Frogboy in other posts. It is intentionally placed near a race that appears to be behind others as a potential game equalizer. Based on the number of posts I have seen on it over time, I think it only occurs fairly far into the game as well.

Eye candy! This is one special event that will make inhabitable planets habitable. I, personally, have never seen it.

I think it's a good idea as well. I've found the MV to be a good game extender and I would like to see it act in a similar way for everyone. I think the more options it has, the greater it's allure.

1) the U.S. is a democratic *republic* (limited gov't) and 2) the material comfort level is from a fairly free continent-wide market. No argument on on #1. I think I was in part argueing the superiority of a democratic republic over a pure democracy. Let the people think they have power, but really they only have limited influence...
