Put them in My Documents/My Games/GalCiv2/logos.

Please join as the forum is open and I feel like I'm posting to myself at the moment.
From now on, updates will be posted on the mod forum .
I have just put together a new forum site for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Mod. It is there where the team will post most screenshots etc of development and where you should go if you have an idea for the mod. It can be found here .
Somerset, Great Britain.
Bump because I want to know.
I think I remember reading somewhere that Dark Avatar will add more advanced modding features. Have we heard any more about these? I for one would like to see less things hardcoded, mabye even a SDK like Firaxis released foe Civ 4. I don't know how to program, but I'm sure some people could do some amazing things with it. Even so, I would like to see more things to do in XML.
I will be using the book for all the ideas, but it is likely I will use the film for most of the media as there is more of it available.
In the near future I am going to be making a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy mod with my friend (who will sign up to the forums soon). It will hopefully include new races, ship components, invasion tactics, random events, and a new tech tree. If you wish to post any ideas here, they are welcome. For now, I have assembled this.
I think Kryo is the forum moderator, and yes he does work for Stardock.
You could give the planets to a friendly AI or, on the planet screen, click 'details' then click 'disband colony'.
If you want to know how to mod, check out CariElf's guide. It explains practically everything that is moddable in the game and is really useful.
I expect you install the mod in galciv2/mods.
I'd try saving the logo and portrait you want to replace with the same name as the one you saw in-game. I don't know why they're not in raceconfig, although it's probably because they're hardcoded. Oh, I wish so many things weren't hardcoded! Anyway, hope this helps.
I've posted a small update tonight to keep up with the ever changing world of politics, replacing Junichiro Koizumi with Shinzo Abe as leader of the Japanese.
Sounds a good idea, I think it would add a lot of depth and realism to the game. Perhaps we could also have different political parties for each race?
Multiplayer is a waste for a game like this. Period. Have you even been around this community?? Maybe only 5% of this community wants that in this game. A turn based game that takes as long as GalCiv2 to finish, you are out of your mind. I certainly don't have the time to sit on my computer for 12hrs a day trying to finish a multiplayer game. I have a life outside of gamin
Also I'd like to ask what are the TGN tokens they were talking about. You can use TGN tokens to buy games on TotalGaming.net You can get 10 tokens (the amount you won) for $70. I got locked out cuz I was 12 and I ha
It's a shame I didn't win, but ah well. Well done everyone, they were all excellent enteries. Stardock, thank you for the opportunity. It is greatly appreciated. I second this.
The Human Factions Mod It replaces some of the current races with present day human nations and leaders. Adds present-day political parties. And some scenarios. <img src="http://img520.images
I've released the Human Factions Mod, which replaces most of the alien races with present-day human ones. Enjoy.
I've just posted the first part of the backstory to the mod. Click here to read.
I'm in the process of writing a backstory to go with the Human Factions Mod, available in the Library. It's going to have 4 parts, and should help explain the races and scenarios I've included. I was originally going to have present the story as a campaign but thought the interest in the main GC2 campaign didn't equal the effort needed to make a campaign, so I would create a forum post instead. Chapter 1: The End of The World December 19th, 2008. The day hist
It is because in 1.2 or later, unused social production, when you're not building a planet improvemnent, is transferred into military production, so when you come to build something, there is no social prod allocated. This is only a cosmetic glitch, but an annoying one nonetheless.
