I've also got favourite race set as Arcean, although I've never played a game as Arcean.

I am using my mod, the human factions and I suppose it could be an error in politicalparties.xml. I will look into it.
I downloaded 1.3 but it still crashed at the senate vote.
No I haven't. I will update today.
Somebody help please!
For most mods, just place them in program files\stardock\totalgaming\galciv2\mods and for ships place them in my documents\my games\galciv2\ships.
As the title says, whenever the senate votes to either go to war or change the government type, I get a CTD. Whilist this is under my mod, it shouldn't interfere with it. I have provided my debug.err Debug Message: Version v1.2 last updated on: Mon Jun 12 18:04:26 2006 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 9/2/2006, 18:01:09 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: DOWDS Operating System: Windows XP Home Edi
It depends what game you're playing. Generally its better to concentrate on the weapon category that the AI hasn't got a defense for and use a defence category that counters the weapon the AI is using.
Any news, Marcathonas?
I remember I had this problem before I finished the mod and it was an error in the xml. Can you please open galciv2\mods\human factions\data\raceconfig.xml in internet explorer or firefox and tell me if there any 'cannot be displayed' messages on the page. It could also be a language error, as I didn't write this mod with non-english language computers in mind- sorry.
I've published the fix, which as well as fixing the bugs I found, includes new logos for custom races, these being Australia, Switzerland, Greece, Ireland and South Africa and it also includes anew scenario, proxy war. Jim1959, I can't fix the problem you're having if you don't tell me what it is.
I have identified some bugs and will take the mod down this evening in order to post the fix. These bugs are: -When choosing a race the race's logo doesn't show up on the race customization screen. -Some of the nations, notably Japan, South Korea, India and China, exceed the limit of ability points.
If this symbol was next to a planet in-game, that means the planet is in danger of culturally flipping, either to your civ or to another civ.
I figured that Blair has got to be gone by the time we develop fusion power and hyperdrive. Jim1959, can you expand on your problem?
The Mod has been approved and is now in the library.
I don't mean the political parties, I mean the actual forms of government i.e. Imperium, Interstellar Republic, Star Democracy and Star Federation
As the title says, is it possible to mod forms of government and if so, how? What I want to do is have races starting with different forms of government and to create a lot of different forms of government. Thanks in advance.
What if humans were not united when HyperDrive was invented? Also, are you tired of humans being the only race that have been politically divided? I have updated the Human Factions Mod and it is in the library pending approval. I've added a lot of new stuff to Version 2 and it contains 6 human major races, 2 thalan major races, 1 robotic major race, and 9 minor races, some of which are human. I've also inc
After reading around the forums, I have decided there is not enough interest in the GalCiv2 campaign to warrant me writing one, so I'm just going to include a couple of scenarios and make a forum post to explain the backstory.
Or you could take your picture and put it in my documents/my games/galciv2/logos or /portraits, depending on which it is.
I'm currently writing a campaign for the Human Factions Mod and after reading this I wondered if there was any advice you could give me to make it playable.
There is no c++ or programming modding in this game, although Dark Avatar is supposed to enhance modding, so who knows?
The game data is in xml and if you want to mod that, see Cari Elf's modding guide here . All the xml can be edited using notepad. I don't know about 3D and graphics modding though.
No, we have to take it in turns to be a sort of executive leader for the week, but all the decisions of that leader have to be ratified by a civil majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but a two-thirds majority in all other cases.
