I hope armour is linked with a fatigue system. And that heavy armour slows whoever wears it. We should also talk about the damage system and health. Armour is linked to them : will it absorb damage? Prevent damage? Both? One thing I like in Fall From Heaven 2 is that bronze armors are weak against lightning ;)

Sprites of dom3 aren't so ugly, but they are far from great. The real bad art choice is to draw sprites on a 3D map. they should have been consistent : or eveything 3D. Or everything 2D. They could have made some "top" camera like in most wargames, and the 2D sprites would have fit well( because there's no smiluation of height so who needs the z axis?)

My eyes bleed after five minutes of reading. Anyway, on topic : you should send a PM to frogboy or Kryo. You would have better results.
So you really live in Siberia o_O
The sounds are terrible, yes. But music ... O_o that's the first thing that pushed me to buy it. It's just beautiful...
In fall from heaven 2, if you were at a great advantage, you had the possibility to switch sides, so you had a real chllaenge for you ;)
Noone? Do you live in Siberia?
I hope they won't make the background darker. I can read the elemental forums for hours (O_o) without making my eyes bleed.
HEre is a site that list lots of free PnP RPG : http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Alley/1557/freerpgs.htm Just make a choice, find a system (and theme) that appeal to you. Read, read, reread. Prepare a scenario. Invite friends. Enjoy :) Ps: I know a system which is really great but.. in french .. if you're really interested in begining PnP RPG I could make the effort of translating it...
I hope that, if there will be a way to script actions, it will be easier than in dom3 to do.
And it's Pen and Paper ;) You gather some friends, some dice. And begins an interactive story. The Dungoen Master(DM) creates the world and each paler has a character. then it's all about dialogs between the DM and the Player Characters.
[quote who="Lavitage" reply="12" id="1944341"]I stand corrected on the "no telling your guys who to attack" bit. You can order them to attack certain classes of units (infantry, archery, cavalry) or enemies at a certain distance (closest, rearmost). Still, grunts can only be given a single order. They're locked into their targeting for the whole battle, unless they were ordered to attack a specific unit class and that class gets completely wiped out. It's only the leaders of your armies that
They waste on wrong spells because you gave wrong stones. Morevoer the last patch (3.20) enhanced that a lot. If you want to have a better grasp on your heroes you need to specialize them, so they don't use spells badly. It needs time to get how to do it efficiently.
You can say who you want to attack in dom3. And the battle system force you to think. Yeah, you have to scout and adapt. Initial placement often make the difference between win or lose. The automatic combat seems at first a bad choice, but in fact it's a good one : it speeds up turns and you have to really plan ahead. The combat scripts let you do almost anything you would want to do in a turn based combat. The only drawback is the 5-turns-thing. After it's a "fire on will".But you can easily
What would be great would be the limitating factor in MoM. You couldnt build every buildings because they were too few "monetary" buildings. In MoM you had to make choices.
I didn't know about the english site.. because I'm french. I just gave the informations I had. And if the first campaigns were a problem for the devs they would have already made a move against it, no? I think that playing the first two campaigns are a good thing for the franchise. A thing about the three campaigns : The first is more like a big tutorial. It's well done but the scenario is a bit .. weird, and the characters are a bit flat. But the second and third camp
No you have to order it online, but you will recieve a physical copy of the game. There's also a demo on the site : http://www.shrapnelgames.com/Illwinter/DOM3/DOM3_page.html
Yes, I think quests should be a viable way to earn some flaws and virtues. It would add to the RPG element. In Element there's also lots of things to do with your channeler, so you still have hard choice to do. If I pursue a quest I can't imbue new heroes, or regenerate land.
You can take those (in english ). It's "animations for cutscenes". Just put them on UserMods ;)
I made one, not really good, but not too ugly also ;) And cervomix did one also.

I do not like having to look at all of my troops all at the same time and be expected to react to them all. I do not like having to stay beside my keyboard because I might have to touch space to pause the game. (I play galciv with my mouse only. The only time I touche the keyboard it's to rename stuff.) 1- I hope that it's going to be turn base.<br /
Excellent. I have an old version of Ars Magica (the 2.0 O_o). I didn't know they were at fifth ...
Is there a chance that devs have played Ars Magica? Because it's a so good PnP RPG. I could make a list of virtues and flaws that the book gives.
[quote who="The Watcher" reply="4" id="1942936"]A question... I purchased the Tribes of the East version but there does not seem to be that many senarios etc in there, should i purchase the vanilla version as well or maybe just get any additional expansions? For new heroes you need ... a tavern ;) And there is city construction !!!
