I figured if anyone would know it would be you. [e classic];)[/e] Thanks. 3% is the same as DL which implies you wouldn't reach the max growth cap until you've reached a pop of 2.5B (75M/0.03). However I'm pretty sure in one DA game I had going where I was playing the Altarians I was getting a growth of about 1B per turn as long as I had a bit over 1B in pop which implies a 7% base growth (75M/0.07=1071). In that game I took no pop growth racia

Perhaps you could make note of this in the topic about things to tweak for the eventual patch.
As far as exploits go this is about as minor as you can get. I'd be far more interested in fixing DA so that you couldn't buy buildings, upgrade ships and still get positive social or military production out o
Based on the wiki article, https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Population in DA "base growth varies with the race, but is between 4% and 7%". The first question is, is this correct? Secondly does anyone know the base population growth values for the various races including the Custom race?
I've only played TA. I have not seen anything which would allow me to move my homeworld. How was it done in DL?
When viewing a planets Colony Management screen clicking on the "Details" button takes you to the Planet Details screen. At the bottom right of the Planet Details screen there are 4 buttons above the "Done" button which are: the Governor button, the Set as Homeworld button, the Rename Planet button and the Destroy Colony button
Apparently in DA and TA you can't move your homeworld to another colony like you can in DL, or am I missing something?
Do you know anything about AIs 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, or anything 12 or higher?
I've heard that AI personality 12 is the same as AI personality 3, both give you DreadLord AI functionality but other than that I have no idea other than changing AI personality outside of what is allowed "in game" is considered cheating for purposes of Metaverse play.
Note that changing AI Personality so as to play against DreadLord AI is considered cheating for Metaverse play because it is not an option selectable from within game and because each DreadLord AI receives 20K BC's *per turn* and it's a simple matter to swindle 160K BC's from them each and every turn beginning March 1st of year 0. Of course for non-Metaverse play you're free to play with whatever options you wish but in general the legitimately selectable options for AI personali
The Ctrl-N difficulty reset bug appears when you reload a saved game and then do a Ctrl-N on it. It's possible there are other rarer circumstances that might cause it, but that's the only one that I've seen that consistently has that effect.
Yeah. If you ctrl-n a reloaded saved game that will mess up every time. Also this is perhaps somewhat of a holdover from my DL experience, however due to that experience I always keep a close watch on my initial income and I've mos
Ctrl-N works just fine with Metaverse games. However there is one thing you need to be careful of and that is that randomly and for no apparent reason your difficulty level could be reset to cakewalk and if you're not looking you might not even notice it until later in the game when the AI's don't really bother to colonize or otherwise show any signs of life. There's an easy way to avoid this and it's simply to pay attention to your initial income. The exact value will be

Well I'm sorry, due to previous history with Chuck, I don't care to let it slide and my comments have simply been in response to his re

Anyway I'm 58 and ready to retire.
Not happening fast enough I see.
By ready to retire I mean I've reached financial independence and could afford to retire if for some reason I absolutely had to. However given that at this point I'm saving close to $100K of *after tax* dollars per year which essentially converts to an extra $4,000 of yearly post-retirement income (assuming a not too unreasonable 4% return on my high grade corporate bonds), I find it difficul
Sounds like you're trying to build one of the predefined ship. This is a bad idea mainly because the predefined ships are not really all that useful. Your problem is that besides needing the particular weapons and defense tech required by the predefined ships you also need to have the correct engine tech, life support and of course hull. Also there can be certain levels of miniaturization that you need for the predefined componenets to actually fit on the hull. If you're missing
To play the metaverse you first need to create a character, which I see that you've already done. You can create up to 3 different metaverse characters per user id. When you start a metaverse game you're given the choice as to which character to use to play the game. Starting a metaverse game is pretty much the same as starting a regular game except that instead of pressing the "New Game" button from the main menu you instead press the "Metaverse" button. However unlike a
Would it help if I just charged in with colony ships in the beginning and took as many planets as I could and my tax rate steadily grows?
It probably would help but there's no single answer to your problem. You probably need to colonize better as well as be a little more indirect in your first few encounters with the AI. Clearly as you move up in difficulty you are going to find that the AI gets stronger and it's harder for the human player to keep up. When that happens
I think they should get ToA up to DA status, then work on DA.
I'm not specifying the order in which things should be done. I'm merely requesting that DA and DL receive their fair share of bug fixes and not be totally ignored. Certainly I assume that ToA as the "latest" version will undoubtedly receive the most attention, however I still maintain that DA and DL are legitimate game play choices that should not be totally superseded by the mere existence of ToA.

DA is what it is and the speed nerfage is a part of that. However I was hopeful that there could be some amount of "accomodation" for gigantic galaxy games where I have literally thousands of ships chugging across the galaxy at 5 parsecs/turn. The
