?A possible reference to Elton John? I don't know.
Something got probably lost in translation. I meant: aren't you a little optimistic? Notice how our usually thin Thalan offshoot friend has gained a few pounds. I'm not sure about you, but this hurts my eyes. Are you calling me fat?? Is that it? I'm not fat, I just have a big exoskeleton. So there. Aeneas V

So I waited for 5 whole minutes for you guys to respond, but nobody has, and I flipped out, bashing my keyboard with random combinations of keys. This process of trial-and-error resulted in my finding that ctrl-u, ctrl-l shows everything and lifts the fog-of-war. Unfortunately the galaxy had to suffer tremendously because of this godly, tyrannic rage. Through the random key pressing, I also unleashed the galactic Plague and the Dread Lords onto the unfortunate inhabitants of the galaxy.

In the name of efficient modding I regularly use cheats to check the results of my efforts. In DA I can't however lift the fog of war. I thought Ctr-f should do the trick. Other cheats do work, so I've got the cheat mode enabled. Any suggestions?

Nice work! I think your concept of upgradable initial colonies/capital can blend very well into the existing game. And the use of upgradable improvements linked to tech research is a very nice use of the possibilities the game offers to modders.

Shadowwarrior, How would I open the gfx file? gfx is a folder: C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Gfx In there, there are a lot of .png pics which you can open with any picture viewer. Among them are used and unused event pictures.

I'm one step further: I think the game requires also shipcfg files in the game's core ShipTemplates dir. Without them, designs icons under the Templates/Core tab were invisible. But again, we have the doubling up of templates if you use the style for yourself and the AI. The same ships are visible under the Templates/Core and the Templates/User tab.

Is there a way to prevent the game from making two Borg Collectives? It seems to create two; the one I made that I played as, and the new one I configure when I choose create opponent If you made two separate Borg races, both will be fair game for selection if you play against random opponents. If that's not what you're talking about, please be more specific. I think I know what he's talking about. You copy your designs to

I'd like to know where these pirates came from and where they got their ships if they can beat the WHOLE galaxy in a couple of turns What a ridiculous question, of course the pirates are from: 1. Another galaxy 2. The future 3. A parallel universe Personally, I believe that the Pirates are actually from the future of a parallel universe, but that's just my opinion. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 al

The number of asteroid fields and their names which I defined in the customplanets.xml don't show up in the game. I can't get specific asteroid fields for the standard solar systems to work either, the standard systems seem to get automatically generated ast. fields. 1. Has anyone gotten custom asteroid fields to work? 2. If so, how did you do it? I already repaired the file (the

I'm very enthousiastic about the possibility to have some kind of border, however I don't like the drastic measures proposed here like severe speed reduction or 'beaming' ships across the galaxy. That's not my idea of fun. No matter how unrealistic a game is, it's fun and believable if it sticks to its own rules (internal consistency). In the case of Galciv, it is about a galaxy with time in weeks and space in 2D. I think the game should stick as close as possible to this concept. Else

[it] gave me all kinds of satisfaction Is that why they call it a 4x game? I think this game is all about patience. If the advance techs were easy to come by, I would just rush to the Blackhole Generator or Doom Ray each game. I think the sandbox mode is not a bad way to learn the game. Just pick a medium type game with average AI and medium size or something
