I'm impressed by all these raps! Lemme try a galactic rap.. THE FACTION You want the action, you come to the right place, it's the Faction, we, the European Alliance, we aint sellin', we aint buyin'. fo' we take care of our own, nobody got nothing on us in the zone, I'm talking about the 'hood, where we have the influence, no one would stand a chance against our revenge, from the Faction! Yo, this rhyme is about the respect for what we own, cau

What miniaturization does is increase the total slots of a ship, thus allowing you to put more components on it. This doesn't make sense to me, there are no slots in galCiv II. Isn't it just so that you can fit more on a large hull, but not as much as the hullspace is bigger than small hulls (the space a part takes is modified for larger hulls)?

So, I guess I'm asking if a ship saved as a Template will be available every game I use that race? And will the non-template builds I make in Game X not show up in Game Y ? To answer your questions specifically: 1. Yes 2. No (at least, I don't think so)

I want the same things you do and I use the following strategy: Let's say, I designed some 36 ships (all saved as templates) and I created different versions from them with functional parts during the game. I want to start a new game with only designs without functional parts and also only a couple of ships, so one colony ship design, one constructor design etc. To achieve this I manage my designs outside the game. I copy sets of designs from the templates folder into seperate folder

If you're brave enough you can also take a peek at the files with a standard text editor like notepad. The files contents is in ASCII format (readable text) and you edit them to change the names of your ships or the .shipcfg files they are referring to. I use it to clean up my dirs by deleting all the lower-numbered copies and rename the high-numbered ones to zero.

is ur explaination official Nope, I'm completely guessing. But I know the score represents how well you are doing compared to the other players and that a score of hundred means you are keeping up with the rest. My example shows a simple way to get to such a number.

So does it mean even if I'm making a huge profit per turn, my economic might rating will be below 100 if my profit per turn is less than the AI? Yes! The idea behind the ratings is to get an idea how well you are doing compared to the other factions. Everything is relative in this game. While you think 500bc profit is a lot (for instance compared to your economic status at the beginning of the game), there are many situations where this same economic sta

In my opinion, a classic is a game that you would play / return to play even years later, because even though newer games might have improvements on seperate game elements, they don't actually touch the 'perfect' combination of elements of the classic. In my opinion UFO X-com is such a game for example. I played it years later even, though it ran actually worse on my newer computer because animations were too fast! Although I think Galciv II is a GREAT game, in my opinion it's

Another one: I'm annoyed at a stream of former enemy ships that keeps hovering around one of my planets. It would be nice if the AI automatically 'retreats' these fleets and moves them to another position. Another solution could be that you can demand from the AI to move their ships from your territory.

I would like to see some sorting of ships possible in the orbiting ships queue. Sometimes you get 'holes' in the lineup when you make for instance the third ship in the line leave orbit. Also changing the order of ships by dragging or something like r-mouse click moves ship up front can by handy. In this way you can make the line such that new ships always endup at the end of the line (and not in the holes) and you can easily rearrange a line such that for instance your planet defender is alwa

On 'tough' with +-30 planets huge map and 6 opponents: All 'stuff' set too low, rare, occasional, the galaxy is big but resources are scarce. I usually put the total slider immediately on 100% and raise taxes until approval is just in the yellow. Then I rush buy about 3 factories on my home world and start creating colony ships in about 6 turns or so. I also buy the first 1 or 2 colony ships. My flag ship in the mean time is auto surveying to find some extra cash (anomalies

If there was actually a referencial so that you could determine what higher up meant... You just look up, and that is the direction of 'up'. Unless you're a non-technological race, in which case you have to look down to determine the direction of 'up'. It all makes perfect sense to me. This doesn't automatically mean that *everyone* got the schematics. Even though the advanced races tried to prevent it, they were

Sorry, your system is not 'high end'. With only 512MB RAM, DA cannot run properly, especially the explosions. I upgraded from 512 to 1.5GB and the game played much more smoother. So I would recommend upgrading your RAM, it is not too expensive.

AND... have a superior military will go a long way. Also, if you had bad relations with them once, it's very hard to get it right. If from the start you are a friendly guy with a big military everybody wants to be your friend in no time.

I looked at the files and I agree with jpinard. The desings have .shipclass extensions which later versions of galciv don't use. Looking at the contents of those files I see that they are really different from .xml files, so renaming them won't be a solution.

but does not grow, nor reproduce, nor does it repair itself. As Mistralok stated, this is not true. Having a degree in experimental psychology, I have some knowledge about the matter. The traditional view on the 'robustness' of the central nervous system was that it is very vulnerable. After the brain has matured, you can only loose brain cells. However, the current prevailing view in cognitive neurosciences is that the central n

And also read any review and see either 'Cons:' or 'Bad:' the gaming press' complete lack of perspective There are just no other bad points. And since this game is a dedicated SP game, this means it's perfect!

There is nothing dumbed down about WoW. Removing unnecessary tedium and jacking up the fun in MMORPGs isn't dumbing down. If you want to group, do instances, do raids, do hard and long quest chains - you can. But you're never forced into anything. It's not dumbing down - it's incredible game design - LOL Wow is for liek noobs, you dont need no skilz and stuff to play a game liek that I can pwn all teh wow players even with
