Does anyone notice though that with 512mb to 1gb ram on a winxp machine, that machine will run fast. 1gb ram on a Vista machine hardly makes a dent in performance, to make perform capably it's normal to run a vista machine with 2gb or better. Obviously other factors come into play, SATA drives will run faster than standard IDE drives, and when solid state harddrives become the norm that will play an even larger role in Vista & later os releases. I just finished working on a Dell Laptop for a friend who purchased the unit for her daughter going to college. It runs Windows Vista Home Premium and supports transparency effects, etc. It runs like a pig, even disabling some of the eye candy features on this unit it doesn't run anywhere near as fast as my ibm stinkpad t43 which is a couple years old already with a processor that isn't nearly as fast and isn't a duo core, has 1/2 as much ram, older/smaller harddrive, etc. etc. You get the id

Everything is viewed as a cost center including IT services. When you're an IT professional and the work you perform is viewed as an expense, it's easy to justify outsourcing that service to another company/country for "pennies on the dollar". It's hard times for IT folk who invested alot of time, money & effort into their educations to see their jobs outsourced to the lowest bidder. Don't look for IT services to improve, look for them to steadily deteriorate and even when the services off
I need a new pair of legs/knees, a while we're at it a new body, I'm am too stiff & sore from all of my recent reno work on a house we just purchased. Installing ceramic tile & laminate flooring looks so easy on tv, it's very different in real life. Thank god I haven't cut off a finger or hand yet.
Hey, you say 5 grand is low, can you break down what the 5 grand covers if a company were to approach you for a similar skinning project. This is an interesting topic. Just an example, How many hours do you put in a master skin that could be used a corporate desktop skin? Are there any other considerations / extra charges/costs to take into account in this type of a project?

"enhanced" skins usually come with some form of protein powder, amino acids, multi-vitamins, testosterone boosting agents, etc. to enhance the overall performance of the wb skin when competing against other skins in the same skin category. Skins with more performance enhancers are evident by their high download counts, check out Night Train's skins - his wb skins are greatly enhanced! LOL, just kidd

I downloaded Ad Aware 2007 @ 1-2 weeks ago, have been using it with decent success along with spybot, grisoft antispyware and ms defender.
