Win2k made it as far as SP4 (and an update rollup pkg), XP made it as far as SP3, Vista will probably get as far as SP2 and it's replacement will be released by then as well. I was participating in a discussion on techrepublic's website about companies that are waiting for Vista SP1 before deploying the Vista OS to their user base. My question is what real advantages (aside from improved GUI) does Vista offer over XP to merit changing over to the new OS?

I have tried the Wii black skin but it really doesn't say "Wii" to me - not to say it's a bad skin, it's not bad at all but it doesn't remind me of the nintendo console at all probably because I haven't seen a black Wii console (maybe they do exist, I just havent seen them), the skin I personally started was white with the light blue accents just like the console itself. If I have some time I'll upload a screenshot of what I did get done on that wb project.

where I work we still deploy xpsp2 corporate wide and re-image new leased machines that come pre-installed with vista with an xpsp2 image. Supporting a new os always comes with it's own set of issues and when you have a decent sized user base, it can really cut into preset budget $$$ when you have to move move a large# of IT staff that are developers and put them in tech support mode to assist the helpdesk with dealing with new os issues instead especially when you have alot of IT projects that

It is unfortunate but everything is viewed as a cost center nowadays, especially functions concerning information technology. Helpdesks are call centers. Call Centers are cost centers. To take a call costs money. Helpdesk personnel have to log calls in some form of crm based application. Helpdesk/ Tech support is probably cautioned about spending too much time with a customer on the phone. Helpdesk supervisor tells his staff how much each call costs literally.<
