Skin because you like it. If other people like it, great. If not . . still great. You did it for you. That pretty much sums it up quite nicely. Zu, I think your quote should be posted on the front page of the site and on every skin category page as well. It's not a bad reminder to have. cf, ratings will never please you or most everyone e

to give an idea of the possibility of security problems associated with the use of instant messenging clients, vnunet.com has a recent report on a serious new AIM vulnerability that could allow remote code execution via instant messaging alone. No user interaction is necessary for the exploit to be successful. In a nutshell, if you use this aim client for instant messenging, the software only needs to be running for the attack to be possible, no links to click on or attachments to open.

if the local I.T. dept was worth their salt, they would have locked that machine down before any of this non-sense took place. Users running in a corporate environment should be running as restricted user accounts - this pretty much negates the user's ability to install any software and only use what's installed on that machine. The only people installing software on company desktop/laptop workstations should be the I.T. dept. Having most users run as restricted user accounts on the machines

I just installed windowblinds 6 - WOW doesn't even come close to summing up how much I'm impressed with it. I love all of the free wb skins that came with it - the quality is more than just fantastic! One of them I'm extremely impressed by because of the animations - who is the author behind the wb skin titled "Molten"? I've never seen so many well done animations in wb skin elements before. Start button, start panel (that dragon is so impressive), taskbar buttons,

Actually the bootskin images you're describing (black screen with simple progress bar) is the default windows vista bootscreen so that would mean vista is operating correctly again. I wouldn't attempt any vista registry tweaking to get a bootskin to work on vista - I'm not aware of a reg tweaks that allow for this anyways. Bootskin for Vista is apparently still in development and I haven't heard anything about it's progress in a while. Until it is released you will have to make due wi

Wolverine wb work in progress based on wolverine's brown/tan costume with blood red highlights - it's actually pretty usable (a little graphic though, not something for little kids to be sure), might do a substyle with the yellow & blue costume as well. Basically pieces of my other wb's thrown together. Newer start panel though, no compact substyles on these. Also trying to setup a wb skin template so that I can create wb skins faster as alot of times I just want to change the theme/colors/ima

Anything but the Vista look....... That look is starting to make me wanna puke my guts out. *Innovate - dont' imitate.* That's one opinion There are still lots of xp users out there that actually enjoy the "vista look". More of the bloated vista sales figures are primarily from new pc sales that is machines that come with vista pre-installed, I

Hi Kilokrash, thanks for the heads up on that, I will check that out and remove/disable any add-on's that I don't recognize. So far working under the newly created admin account is going well, no restrictions and the machine works great. Hi bobdown, thanks for the link to the techguy's website. I'll definitely post my problem there and see what kind of response I get.

winmodify.net did some great interviews recently on kittymalone & jazzymjr, a couple of great female skinners. I thought it was a great idea, a way to learn more about skinners. If you haven't already, you should definitely check it out. It would be a great feature to have here as well. I'd love to learn more about some of the pro's (treetog, mike bryant, danillooc, etc.) and alot of the current top skinners on this site.
