What with the way the American dollar is going atm, I got Sins downloaded at bargin prices. Usually I would have had to pay $70-$90 Australian dollars at a store to get a new PC game instead of $49.00. ($90-$120 for a new console game.)
The local Wal-Mart had five copies the last time I was there (Thursday) and there were five copies the very first time I saw it on the shelf and every time I went between then and Thursday, so I don't think it's in any danger of selling out there

Yeah I have had the same problem I found that it is not a trivial thing though some people would have me believe it to be so. I tried the Sins theme but found the theme too heavy to stay. It was also somewhat unstable, my windows kept freezing after I had applied the Theme so I used MyColors Vista Desktop option to revert to default, In my previous experience with other Stardock apps I found you cannot just try to use windows features to restore default themes, windowblinds, icons
Should just be able to hold the button down to build up the amount or have a slider or a text box to type in the amount ...pretty much anything would be better than clicking the button a 1000 times....
I never read stickies, I glance over the titles and then decide I probably know better anyway. I'm also going to echo Hollow Man, I'll never buy a game that requires me to pay for it more than once
Well.. The MyColors theme is extremely unstable, at least on my system. But that's no big suprise, I've had the same troubles before with Stardock products. As soon as I installed the Sins theme IE7 and Explorer froze multiple times then WMP11 disappeared and I had to end the processes in Task Manager. Pretty much made Windows unusable even immediately after reboots. Worst of all when I try to get rid of the Sins theme by applying Vista Desktop it leaves behind corrupted window
Yeah I can't remove the demo either, unless I uninstall the full game first..
I know, and I still don't think it qualifies for a research."General Hammond, we need to add more ships to our fleets, but we don't know how to do it!"- "A serious concern indeed, I'll notify the research division heads about this. Hopefully they can figure out why we can't just build more ships."
Don't think of it as research, think of it as training bright young officers to command those extra ships. Think of it as researching new training techniques.
A zealous horde of insane forum posters...
Just a thought, is it possible to get the Sins theme on it's own through wincustomize or whatever? Also can anyone tell me what the Vista icon for Sins looks like cause the demo has a ugly gamebox picture for an icon. I hope the full version has a good looking one for the Games Explorer.
Nope, doing that just gets me a list of my serial numbers and links to SDC, which when I enter my numbers, only tells my subscription has ended and shows me shareware versions. When I say 'archived apps invariably failed to work when re-installed' I mean it seriously, not once have I been able to successfully archive an app, and then get it to work later.
When I think of cell phone themes I think of all those incredibly annoying late night ads that bombard you with tones and wallpapers that cost $4.00 a pop if you TEXT NOW! They are right up there in annoyance with the 'text the scantily clad bot for a date tonight' ads Every glittery teenie magazine is clogged with pages of the same stuff, giant lists of phone themes meant to rip off kids who buy them by the dozen on their parents credit cards The whole idea is pretty horrible to me so
Saying it was 4X was just a marketing ploy to get Stardocks GalCiv fans on board.
oops double post I suppose I am dissapointed that Sins doesn't support multi-core CPUs, I thought I read that the game was able to scale for users of old PCs and the those who use the newest but I guess it's not really true.
You're a gamer? And you bought a quad core? You do realize that no games currently utilize or require four cores,
Supreme Commander is quad-core.
I bought a Object Desktop last year that has since run out. I thought the deal was that I could get updates to my software until my subscription ran out but it seems I can no longer download Windowblinds 6 at all and I am limited to downloading a shareware version of WindowBlinds 4. Anyone know how this is suppose to work, when my subscription ends do I no longer have the ability to download the latest update available at the time my subscription ended??? I just re-formatted m
Oh yeah, that's a cool looking GNN, I'd love to see this in GalCiv.
I've never been able to get the archive function to work correctly, it always fails and I have to download Gigs of data again to get my programs back in.
Yeah I've been seeing alot more invisible ships since installing beta 4c
The first time I opened the Map Editor I quickly ran into ran into problems. I double-clicked the titlebar to resize the window from fullscreen however I could not double click it to make it fullscreen again and I cannot use the fullscreen button in the top corner. When I used the top buttons to minimize to taskbar and then brought the window back up it is blank white and I have to restart the program to use it again. Also after a few seconds a window popped up say
Just a few errors I noticed when playing through the DL campaign in TA 0.96[b].002 Crash to desktop after hitting done on the summary screen after almost every scenario. Sometimes I would lose graphics of borders and backgrounds sometimes the text is flashing and scrolling. Had to restarting the game and continue on to next level from the campaign menu every time. Altarian leader Netro Mancer has wrong pic in Foreign Policy screens. Ship building is all messed up. I co
I was just playing the Dark Avatar campaign in TA and during planetary invasion it seems that the option of traditional invasion is no longer there, researching the first tech only gave me gas warfare for example, sounds like a bug ??
I am offended by the stupidity of my fellow humans
I also think the space available to name ships is far too short, all the AIs can call their ships longer names such as "Altarian Heavy Fighter M1 V2" but I couldn't name my ships the same way because I run out of typing space...it's not fair!
Are the old DL and DA campaigns suppose to be able to work under TA 0.95[b]002 ?? because I am having a hard time trying to get the game to work when I try. Many times the tech tree reverts to the older DL or DA versions which in an ongoing game totally screws things up causing crashes when the game doesn't know what it's doing I also get constant crashes between scenarios when I try to continue to the next level. The UI is real messed up with buttons not working and borders missing
I don't have any problem with ship maintainance, it's the colony maintainance that kills me things like adv. market centres now cost bc to run
