You need to start a developer community with a reliable means for developers to get paid for more advanced submissions. Wincustomize needs to up its game and that takes blood and sweat. Let people get paid for it and they will come. At the moment the community still shuns paid submissions somewhat. c.f. Apple app store in iTunes.

They are expensive phones so most of us get them on contract with a 2 year upgrade cycle. In that respect its a reasonable upgrade from a 4S given the larger screen and much more powerful processor. Not exciting but reliable with much better power management than an android phones (people forget that). I understand Siri is considerably improved with IOS7 but I'll reserve judgement on that.

I can appreciate your frustration at the lack of interest in windows gadgets/DX, having completed quite a complicated RSS gadget I was planning more but found its feeds disabled by IE updates on Windows 7 and later. Currently I'm doing a lot of development work in C++, both at home on Windows 8 and at work on Windows 7 and seeing the contrast on a daily basis it is so clear how much better the interface on Windows 7 is. From the general UI down to details such as the colour schemes. I so miss the Aero glass and windows-flip when I'm at home and the changes to VS2012 are just ghastly. Even Eclipse is looking superior - it even has git integrated by default goddamit.

I like the styling of the Win8 skin provided but it changes the style of many of the UI elements in Windows 8 to something like those found in Windows 7 (scroll & progress bars etc). I'm not familiar with the skin-maker, can someone make a skin that changes nothing in Windows 8 ... except giving us transparent window borders?

I don't seem to be able to apply any of the skins (Win8 64bit). I get a dialog "Problem Detected" : Windowblinds does not appear to be installed correctly on your machine. Would you like to try to fix this issue now? I select Yes and it runs something but nothing is fixed. Also reinstalled myself. Still the same message. Any suggestions?

If you have the source code for the original program I don't understand why you just don't compile it to 64 bit, this should work fine and will save you a whole world of hurt. (as explained here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/windows/desktop/ee872017(v=vs.85).aspx ) From that point adding a thread-pool to manage nurbs and assets should be easy enough.

Watched it at home with my wife on iTunes this week. Movies are always a completely different experience to books and this was no exception but I was glad to find it was close enough to not frustrate. It did bring back some childhood memories though.
