Now, my last challenge, how to stop my brain going "just one more turn" when its 3am in the morning?
Hrm, you could rig something to your chair that any mouse clicks from 3am to 7am would lead to an electric shock. But you could then circumvent that by standing for those 4 hours or swapping chairs. Perhpas set the circuit your computer is on on a passworded timer and button-mash the password so that you don't know it to override it.
I'm with you KP, state jobs are great. They don't pay that much, but you get pretty good job security (especially since they rewrote my job description so that I'm the "only one" doing that - can't be redundant if there's only one, right?) and the benefits are pretty good, too.
I wouldn't say good job security. There was just an article about cutbacks in the workforce in the government. They've been doing big cuts
As an aside, It would be interesting to see how loading up the terror star with Military Starbase enhancements would mesh with the laws restricting modules on starbases. Building a terror star in the midst of seeing a law like that passed permanently might encourage you to leave the UNP just so you could build what you could finish building your mobile starbase. (And under those conditions, I too would prefer not to see a terror star zooming around faster than 1pc/wk)
T

1. You don't need a flagship per se, you just need a ship with weapons on it...like those fighters you noticed. Researching new weapons, new hull sizes and even the minituriaztion techs will make for better and better fighters. 2. Yes, you need a planet that has no enemy ships ships in it's orbit to send in a transport for the ground combat. 3. The number (3 or such) is how much room it would take up in a fleet. If you put 2 ships on the same squa
Yeah, it's been fixed.
I thought so, but I also remember the warp bubbles not working at one point, so I had some doubt that it was the TS fix that broke them and it got undone. I really need to play galciv2 some more. I'm becoming more and more out of touch with things.
You can speed up the terror star by fleeting it with a ship carrying subspace bubbles or some such, the module that increases fleet speed. Use only one though, I've had strange results.
Does that still work? It happened in beta, but I thought they axed that. They put in a check if there is a TS in the fleet.
1. Try going to war with them, don't lift a finger really. Next time you are able to talk to them, ask for peace...and some of their planets. Also, you can just plain out ask for money..but the AI seems to see it as begging, not demanding. 4. In a sense Evil already gets money from...being evil. Frieghters going thru their territory pay a fee. I agree though, ship-ship fights shouldn't require a war declaration, just planetary invasions/destruct
Just some more information on espionage can be found over in my post trying to flesh out the ins/outs of this: https://forums.galciv2.com/316263
In addition to them running the red line for morale, they typically have morale structures that in DA/TA can be nullified to create even MORE troops upon landing. But we were talking about DL strats here....move along, nothing to see here. ~sweeps his spies under the rug~
Spore ships come into play in Dark Avatar. Each race got given a Super Ability. Some get an ambush attack if they initiate the battle, others can rally people of the same ethical alignment to their side when someone declares war on them...then there is one that enables a module to put on a ship. A ship with that module will auto-win a ground combat, but leave the planet at a rediculously small population as well as toxify the air. Essentially, they let loose an organ
3. What is the 1hp bug/error?
I think it's when you have a ship down to 1hp, but in a battle, the opponent cannot breach your defenses to kill you and you them. So a stalemate is created and the person with te largest attack (and defense?) wins the fight with 1hp remaining. If your fights are chosen correctly, you can go indefinitly running on 1 hp. The one thing you will need to adjust for DL from KP's ZYW writeup is the fact that you
The TS has a use in the galciv2 storyline in the end of the TA campaign as well.
Out of curiosity, will the Terror Star obliterate everything in the star system, including enemy ships and starbases?
Yes. Even YOUR ships if you have any in the system. The Terror Star survives the blast though.

How do we are arm the TS - it will not take anymore constructors.
After the last constructor has done it's job, then you must wait for 10 weeks as the Terror Star "boots up". After that point, send it towards the star in a system and then watch the fireworks. Note, a STAR, not a planet. Some people have had some issues with them. Also note, this thin
Nope, that's just how they are. They get the Galactic Achievements right from the start, but then it takes a while until they can build ANYTHING on a planet beyond a star port. Typically, you'll see what I've coined as the Pink Blob of Doom due to the first building the AI seems to come across is the Embassy...which it then fills the planets up with...making a mighty big pink influence blob on the map. The only lab or factory they get is a line of 3, later on in their tech
We got a DVR/Cable Receiver, so it's covered. It's just I won't catch it when it originally airs...thus the 'no sleep tonight' comment lol.

The all X approach isn't as effective I've heard in TA since they adjusted the loss ratio from focus. Other than that, the actual controls haven't changed. On the flip side, the economy is MUCH tighter in TA than in DL/DA due to maintenance costs and such.

The GM hit is currently causing a local car-carpet plant to lay people off. We HAD a nice fountry here too that made tanks for the government...but that's long past it's prime and no longer has contracts w/ the government. <p
Social conditioning at it's worst. The people that are generally in trouble are the ones who were raised on the mentality "get what you want, when you want it". It's also those very credit cards that inflate prices. Every purchase made with one costs the retailer money. They either have to eat that cost to keep their products lower than ther competitors, or raise their price to cover the fee. The one gas station by my work was able to keep prices 5% lower tha
