Checking your 'Nickname' I may have found 2 accounts for you, under two different e-mails. This can confuse Impulse and result in the issue your seeing. Please e-mail us at [email protected] and we can determine if these two accounts are yours, merge them and you will then be all set and Impulse will welcome you, rather than confuse you.

If your Icons have turned 'white' and you have already uninstalled IP; Please access your System Registry (XP - Start-> Run, Vista - WinKey +R) and in the run box type regedit. Then go to the following Key; HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile\shellex\IconHandler On the right side of the screen, if it has a value of {611AD258-4138-4348-A534-9856FA6BA398} you need to rename that registry key from 'IconHandler' to something else, IconHandlerX works. Then reboot

In Impulse, click on the blue Stardock logo (upper left) and from the Menu choose 'Register a product', then in the Reg screen, right-click the game and choose 'Remove Registration'. Then exit and restart Impulse. Try again. Rinse, repeat

You will need to manually remove the game folder, and delete 2 Registry Keys before you'll be able to re-install. Go to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire (or where ever you installed the game) and delete the main folder. Then launch the System Registry (Start-> run, and type regedit) Look for and delete the following Keys; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\sins HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\si

Try going to Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and open the Prefs.ini file in Notepad. Change DisplayWidth to 1280 and DisplayHeight to 800, save the file, and then try again. You might also try changing your screen resolution to match 1024 X 768, just as a test. If that doesn't work, set Fullscreen=0

Sorry, the folder will only be there is you've successfully installed. Your issue is you can't install due to the decompression error? Try this from within Impulse: -Click the blue Stardock logo in the upper left of the Impulse interface and select 'Preferences...' -Click on the 'Connection' section on the left. -Check or Uncheck the box that says 'Use Legacy download system (BITS)' -Close Impulse and relaunch it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so what I may think is a great Aero type skin, you may not like. You should visit www.wincustomize.com and search there, perhaps use 'aero' as a search term. WindowBlinds has a way to exclude certain apps from skinning, but no way to have it skin only 'some' apps. You can not edit or alter the Windows Aero theme, as that is locked by MicroSoft.

Failure of WB's to apply a skin, especially if it just changes everything to ugly 'Windows Classic' can be caused by extra 'security' apps, like SpyBot, AdAware and the like. Even some anti-virus applications can have their own 'spybot' functions, and Firewall settings. Check your system (SysTray) for any of these 'watcher' type programs and try to turn them off. Also, in Vista you might try turning UAC off.
