I think a major reason why "drones" make so much less than the "puppet masters" is that the drones are expendable, and can probably be replaced by robots, whereas the puppet masters aren't. Anybody can work a register at McDonald's, but how many people could orchestrate the business competently?

I might not have to upgrade, but then again, nobody has to buy a Mac, yet people still complain about its price. Maybe I'm exagerating though. How often does an update to OS X come out? Hopefully not too frequently, because I want to stay up to date, but my wallet needs a break every so often. Personally, I prefer MS's way of doing it, which is release really big updates about every two years with free service packs in between.
Well, I was worried that I would have to purchase an upgrade to 10.4 when it's available, and I see that my worries were just. Where as it looks like it's cheaper than upgrading to the new Windows OS, it's clearly not when you factor in the frequent upgrades as opposed to Windows which only needs one about every two years.

I really don't consider somebody to be the author of a program that is a cheap imitation of a commercial product, which is what the software by RMS usually is. True, discontinued open source software, IN THEORY, can be revived by other people, in the real world, that doesn't happen too often, even with great software. It's also true that commercial software has as much of a chance as being terrible, but open source software tends to have a higher ratio of "crap" than commercial software.<BR

Intelligence is definitely an important attribute to seek when searching for a companion, but there are different types of intelligence, and although I do agree the geeks tend to be smart mathematically, I do not see much intelligence in other areas, which is sad, since a computer is just as good at mathematics, if not better.
High school's the place at which to have fun. College is expensive, unless it's a junior college, in which case, they should mellow out!
I just bought an iBook, and it's a beautiful thing! I have noticed that it is very limited in its GUI though. Honestly though, I don't think such features (or lack of) are as significant as the real reason many people avoid Macs: the price. The fact that there's a shortage of freeware doesn't help either.

I completely agree. There's plenty of artists out there, especially on the Internet, and if people hate the RIAA so much and think that the music sucks so much, why not try independent bands? I haven't listened to any for awhile, but with a subscription to eMusic, I plan to listen to less mainstream stuff. Besides, supporting the competition would destroy the RIAA faster than a mandatory tax that ensures their longevity.
Since I won't get docked for "trolling" on here, here's what I have to say on the subject. Taxes are truly the spice of life. If it weren't for taxes, I would have to get a job! I hope that there are riots worldwide in response to this. I don't mind Hollywood wanting to milk things, but they should keep some bit of integrity and stop producing so many sequels (including prequels)! They should go back to just releasing the film with slightly cleaned up footage.
It looks like a matter of preference mostly. Many of the pros for both sides are things I'm sure not everybody needs. One thing's for sure though: I want an iBook. OS X is beautiful, but even the most beautiful interface gets tiring after awhile. Is it possible to change the look of OS X without having to use another program?
Honestly, I don't think these chemicals are as bad as they seem. In fact, I have a feeling that we as humans will adapt to these chemicals, much like humans have already adapted to all the other junk in the air that Mother Nature so lovingly puts there. Besides, maybe I'm mistaken, but it's always seemed to me that those who are obsessed with cleanliness get sick more than those who don't care either way (although I still think cleanliness is next to godliness).

I agree that it's better to make your own package. It might be more of a hassle than to have somebody else do it, but it's easy to make your own and it'll also look better.
